Prime 1 helped the Porters (mainly Mrs. Porter) with scaling the project down to a much more basic renovation project. No written scope of work or accurate plans were provided by the Porters so we provided them with a detailed cost proposal and time frame for the project. We entered into a contract to begin the work in April 2016, with the goal of meeting their completion date of 8-15-16. During the course of the project the Porters changed the scope of the work several times and some of these changes caused lengthy delays to the project - resulting in stopping the work several times while waiting for design decisions from the Porters. Prime 1 even brought in another architect to help them make decisions to get the project moving again. After we resumed work again in July 2016, I had an unpleasant phone conversation with Paul Porter in which he berated me in a very unprofessional manner - thus causing Prime 1 to decide to withdraw from the project at the end of July 2016.
Prime 1 Builders does charge a fair overhead and profit margin and this was discussed with the Porters before the project started. I never screamed at his wife. Prime 1 never had any unfamiliar subcontractors on the project, nor were any of our seasoned subcontractors ever working without some form of supervision from Prime 1 - in fact we often supervised a subcontractor working directly for the Porters. The new drywall you see in the photos was installed over 85 year old framing that Prime 1 was not contracted to rebuild, straighten or level out. in fact we were instructed by Paul Porter to not "fur down" any ceilings so we did not lose any head room. At the end of our involvement in the project we completed the drywall work, cleaned up the entire site, removed our tools and dumpster and left the job in a professional manner and condition.
