We were so lucky to work with Peters Design-Build for the renovation of our home. We were looking for a design-build firm that had the highest standards for quality and design, and a team that we would enjoy working with for several years. Andrew, Ben, Michael, James, John and the entire PDB team were an outstanding team. With their expertise as our guide, we were able to achieve our goal of transforming our 1930s home into a space that could accommodate our growing family, while retaining its historic charm and details. Our renovation included redoing our kitchen, upstairs bathroom, bedrooms, and converting our garage into a 3rd bedroom, 2nd bathroom, a new family room, and full landscaping of our backyard. We are thrilled with the outcome and recommend PDB with the utmost enthusiasm!

As a construction manager I've seen all types of contractors in my career. Peter's Design Build is exactly what I think of when someone asks "what makes a contractor GREAT?" From day one on our backyard renovation they were responsive, trustworthy, transparent, professional and efficient. They understand what it takes to work in residential construction in San Francisco, and were able to design and build our deck and retaining wall WITH a permit and passed inspection with flying colors. I literally can't say enough about Andrew, Michael, James, John and the entire team. It truly was an enjoyable and pain free experience from initial design to budgeting, contracts and construction. Michael and team had great design concepts and listened to what we needed. Andrew has an easily understood budgeting process so there were never any surprises on costs - their contract is fair and they follow it to the letter, and they never asked for any additional funds beyond those they were owed. During construction the crew was clean and considerate, and they managed themselves professionally onsite. They always cleaned up at the end of each day and coordinated with my neighbors on parking and deliveries to be sure they didn't block them. Also, the work was top quality! I found them on Yelp after looking for a design build contractor that worked with permit and was not disappointed. As a long time professional in the construction industry who regularly represents client's interests - take it from me: You can't go wrong with Peter's Design Build!

We worked with Peters Design-Build on the remodeling of an old San Francisco home: open up the floor by removing multiple walls and a brick chimney, move the bathroom from one side of the house to another, and install a completely new heating system. Everything under a tight budget. First they are very professional and very pleasant to work with. Before starting any work they spend a lot of time designing and discussing with us what we exactly wanted and detailing the budget. They are very good at staying on budget and they always gave us good advice on what was possible and what was not. The whole process was very transparent from how the money was spent. The second aspect is that they delivered very good quality work. Their engineering work was very well done, the material chosen was optimal between cost and quality, and the finish work was impeccable. During the project they kept the work place clean and in order which was also a plus for us. Third, they took great care of our neighbors. We have a downstairs neighbor and a few next door neighbors. Whenever there was an issue that may affect them, Peters handled it quickly, professionally and with the least disturbance to the neighbors. Even our neighbors love them! Finally, we are very pleased with the final product - a luminous, comfortable living space which integrates the charm of the old house with a modern touch. We highly recommend Peters Design-Build to anyone looking for creative designs, high quality execution and great service within budget.

Peters Design Build did a beautiful remodel of our three-story, three-unit traditional San Francisco property. The final design retained the original Edwardian lines, but with all the modern amenities (like, you know, lots of wall outlets and modern appliances). Ben and Andrew were always responsive, open, and courteous. They answered any questions I had, and gave a good idea of what to expect. They are totally professional and flexible. Some contractors seem like they do good work, but don't know how to run a business. Ben and Andrew do both. They have top quality craftsmanship, but also know how to manage expectations and build to our budget. I was pregnant at the time of the remodel, and they kept dust to a minimum, used non-toxic paints, and let me know when to make myself scarce if I wanted to avoid inhaling teratogenic substances. All in all, a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Ben and Andrew to everyone I know.
