Murpyhs Design Center

We worked with Aaron and Murphy's Design Center to build our vacation home in Arnold, about there hours away from our primary residence. When selecting a builder, we were looking for someone who could do a design-build process, was mindful of budget, who we could trust thoroughly, and who could work with our more modern aesthetic. We met Aaron, visited two of the recent homes he had completed, and were immediately confident, he was the best person to work with. During the design process, Aaron did a great job at listening to our wish list for our home, and coming up with multiple different design plans for us to choose from. He designed a home to maximize our budget, using thoughtful design to save money in some areas, so we could invest more on finishes that were important to us. We spent many hours with Aaron and Lori at the Design Center, choosing every detail for the home. Their eye for design was enormously helpful. Aaron also has an impeccable attention to detail. The wood and finish work in our home, from the stairs and beams, to the flooring and trim, is so well done, and something everyone that visits our home comments on. We often get asked if it was hard building a home in Arnold, when we lived far away. We always say how easy it was, because we had an amazing builder. We highly recommend Aaron and his team.

We worked with Aaron and his wife for over a year on our project. They went well beyond our expectations in the design phase and continued to surprise us with subtleties during the construction that we had missed. Their work, project timing, details, and budget performance were all outstanding. There weren't any unpleasant surprises. We intend to use them again in a couple of years to design and build a four bedroom home on a hillside. Lastly, the Millers still keep in touch with us and we never felt like just another customer, they both truly care about their product and reputation.

My husband and I hired Murphys Design Center to design and build our home in the Sierra Foothills. Aaron and his entire crew (especially Lisa and Lori who helped with paint, tile, etc.) paid attention to every detail—exterior design, deck design and construction, trim work, cabinet and appliance installation—just to name a few. We had a general idea about what we wanted but Aaron helped us to take full advantage of our beautiful property along with sticking to the theme of the project. We appreciated that he would meet with us regularly to discuss ways to make changes that would make our home even more awesome—even if it was a hassle on his part.

We’ve had the honor of working with Aaron and Lori on remodeling our master bathroom and master bedroom. These people care about their customers. Aaron is truly a craftsman and the subcontractors he used we’re professional. We are looking forward to working with them again on our future projects. I love Murphy’s design center! Lori helped me pick my floors, kitchen and bathroom cabinets, counter tops, and backsplash. We happened to be in Murphy’s so I was grateful she helped me even though I live out of town. I was super intimidated to do the remodel on our house and she talked me through it helping me with every step. We love our floors as well! The process was super easy and stress free. I love their design-builds. I've seen them firsthand, and they are stunning. We met with Aaron and Lori in hopes to use them for our home remodel, but unfortunately our timelines didn't mesh -- of course they are booked out because they do fabulous work! Even though we weren't able to use them for the construction end, Lori is just the sweetest ever. She still checks in with me every so often to see how our remodel is going, offering advice/design ideas. I would not hesitate to recommend them or even use them on any future projects we may have!

MDC did custom concrete floors for my 1400 sq ft day spa. They are spectacular! New clients comment on them all the time. Project was on time, on budget, & although it was a small project for them, the owners & staff made me feel just as important as someone doing a much larger project. Loved working with them & love my floors.
