Build Professional came up with a design for our new floorplan that gives our 50-year-old home a comfortable and modern feel. Their support team was realistic, efficient, and flexible in their approach, and I found them easy to deal with. The documentation for our project was thorough and its timely provision allowed us plenty of opportunities to tweak the design before commencing on-site works. During the build phase, the sub-contractor tradies were all accomplished in their work and went about their tasks in a cheerful diligent manner. The quality of work meets the agreed standards and our home now feels brand new. Most pleasing was that the project was completed within our original budget forecast. We found the whole process with Build Professional to be very straightforward and not too much stress for us. Everything went smoothly and our extension was completed on time. The project manager was fantastic at getting things done and kept on top of the other trades people and the schedule. The project was very well planned and went pretty much as scheduled. Importantly, the budget stayed within the original budget. The finished product met our expectations. It is great how alike the finished product and the initial conceptual drawings are. The extension blends in seamlessly with the existing home. The communication is one of the most important aspects of dealing with Build Professional as they were completely open to any feedback or questions that we had. Basically, we were able to let them get on with the extension and we would engage with the project manager regularly just to see how things were progressing. To be honest, there was nothing that we were unhappy with.

With three young children in a three bedroom house, we needed more living space for our family. We wanted to find a way to renovate our house while being able to live in it while the building work took place. After doing our research, there was only one company that was consistently recommended - Build Professional. We gave them a brief that sought the addition of an upper story, including two new bedrooms and en-suite, while being faithful to the original look of our 1970s-build house. The result has been exactly what we wanted. The project was managed on time and on budget. Communication was excellent and timely, from design through to delivery. Build Professional completed an extension to our 1967 three bedroom/1 bathroom home, adding a new master bedroom with ensuite, rumpus room and pergola. We love how it has turned out and the new space suits the needs of our family. It was good to have BP coordinate all aspects of the job from start to finish, including working with us on the design. They had an excellent project manager who was quick to respond and provide detail in his answers to our many questions throughout the process, and to come up with options to rectify a couple of unforeseen things that came up during the build. We lived in the house for some of the time during the build, and found all the trades to be friendly and respectful of our space (and our fetched-obsessed dog who was there wanting their attention as they worked). The project came in on budget, and while it took a few weeks longer than scheduled, it all came together well in the end.

We were stuck - bogged down, lost, confused and incredibly frustrated. Having worked with an architect for over 12 months to get our design perfect, we were shopping around for builders. We asked 6 builders to quote our design and the quotes that came back to us ranged from $270k - $695k – none were comparable, some included some things and others were left off – it was woeful. We couldn’t get a builder to give us an accurate, definite quote. We couldn’t move forward. We had to change our plans. We contacted Build Professional and they came at our project from a completely different direction. The first meeting started with two questions – “What is your budget” and “what do you want to achieve with your renovation” – a great start. They then went off and designed a renovation that fitted our budget. It was a SET cost. We knew exactly what we were getting and for exactly how much. Of course, we added and tweaked and changed some things but this was all done BEFORE the build started. Working with this company was fantastic, Matt Hall leads a fabulous bunch, who all are professional and capable and their job is to get the best outcome for everyone. When we finally made the decision to extend and completely renovate our house, we went looking for a building company that could help us turn our ideas into efficient and practical designs. We had approached a few builders in previous years, but those builders did not specialise in extensions, and they were happy to just use our limited design despite our lack of expertise. The main reason we chose Build Professional was that their one company had an Architect, Interior Designer and Builder, and they specialised in extensions. Now that we have completed the build, we see this earlier decision worked out just as we hoped. Not only did their Architect (Brendan) help us decide on what we wanted, he honed in on several poorly designed (existing) areas within the house and offered up costed solutions to consider. This was definitely time and money well spent. Not only do we now have an extra room on our house, but we have also removed those awkward spaces and improved the original shortcomings in our original roof layout. When their Interior Designer (Lyn) became involved before construction started, she moved quickly and efficiently, navigating us through the maze of choices with colours and fixtures and flooring (especially in the bathrooms and kitchen). By the time the final week of construction arrived, we realised just how important Lyn’s earlier advice had been with all these choices, and now it feels like we are living in a new display home. Matt Harmon worked with us all along the way to ensure the usual bumps were quickly ironed out. His calm patience made it much easier. Now that the build is completed, we remember Matt Hall’s initial advice: “treat the project like an adventure instead of an ordeal and you will enjoy it a lot more”. Good advice. We have no hesitation recommending Build Professional to others looking for a builder with complete solutions and service, not just a piecemeal service that the client needs to patch together.

Throughout the process, our job was done with care and an exceptionally high level of customer service resulting in a very positive experience. The initial costing estimates were very accurate and the onsite team went out of their way to make sure we could maintain our family lifestyle with minimal disruption while living through the renovations. The onsite team had very good attention to detail in their work and cleaned up the site at the end of each day. The design has transformed an outdated house into a family home that we really enjoy living in and are proud to call home.

To simplify the whole renovation/extension process, we were looking for a company that would take on the whole project from start to finish. From design to building, Build Professional did just that. They designed and extended our three bedroom home and delivered an extra two bedrooms, rumpus and bathroom that fit our brief and budget. The designer being able to work closely with the builders from the beginning I felt helped to deliver a layout that closely met our needs and budget and minimised any surprise costs. Build Professional renovated our kitchen, living space and two bathrooms. The whole process ran smoothly due to pretty tight scheduling by Matthew and his team, and overall was a relatively low stress experience.
