I engaged Residential Technology Service (RTS) to do the home automation for a new home and it was nothing but horrendous, traumatic, and a total disaster. RTS' owner Zach Schulman is deceptive, incompetent, unethical, and unprofessional. All of RTS' work had to be thrown away and redone properly by a competent replacement. As the evidence of his wrongdoings were overwhelming, RTS’ bond insurer paid me the full insured amount. My damages far exceeded what the bond insurer paid but I feel that the justice has been served as both the bond insurer and California SLB found him guilty. Also, please be aware that this guy lives in Idaho which he never disclosed and moonlights in the Bay Area. Many customers are not sophisticated/experienced and become victims like me. By the time you realize the true color of this guy, the damage has already been done as it happened to me. Be careful, you don’t want to be the next victim!!! Zach is a quality professional who can help with most needs or put you in touch with someone who can. A few key attributes I appreciate are: ability to adapt to changing circumstances on the job, works well with other contractors, isn't worried about 'is this my responsibility' and instead just gets the job done at a fair price.

Zach and the team at RTS have been fantastic. They've done a significant amount of work for us -- all sorts of rewiring, setting up sound systems, etc. They've helped make old wiring work and also installed new wiring. The cost was reasonable and if there were ever problems with my system after they came, RTS was quick to respond and fix things right away. We had previous A/V person (he had all five star reviews) and RTS is far more professional of an outfit. We had a really hard time finding A/V help and are very happy that we found RTS.
