Island SmartHomes was way overpriced and their work was very unprofessional and sloppy. Ed installed security cameras charged $4,000.00 for 5 cameras and a NVR . He further lied on the contract and when the install was completed he wanted a monthly payment of $200 to up keep the camera system. The camera system stopped working after a year. A friend of mine who is in the security camera business said the NVR and the camera's Ed installed were subpar. Furthermore, I had wires hanging from the bottom of my siding all around my house from ED's installation. I redid the installation myself and installed Reolink system which is 1000 times better than what ED installed. I also pulled all ED's ethernet wires that were hanging and exposed, and ran new wires underneath the siding and through sofits. A much cleaner install than Ed's. Don't make the same mistake I did!

Ed did a fantastic job designing and installing my in home and backyard WiFi system. I’m not one to recommend people or leave reviews, but he’s always been there before and after the install. He’s given me great advice and has saved me from making mistakes.

Ed and Island SmartHomes was an absolute pleasure to work with. He helped us with all our A/V needs in our home in East Hampton. Ed was always quick to respond and very patient in answering any and all questions I had regarding the project. He was honest in accessing our needs and providing us with a great and working system while not trying to upsell us or add on superfluous items (as other vendors were). The work was done in a very timely manner and of extremely high quality. I am very happy I found Ed and I will certainly be a repeat customer.

Ed sets himself apart from the rest in this industry. 1) He shows up when he says hat he is going to show up. 2) He is honest about what he can and cannot do (i.e. When he knows that mounting a TV will require carpentry work, he will not attempt to perform the work himself because he has a full understanding of his limits, better that than spending more money on getting something fixed). 3) He is highly up to date with top-notch technology equipment and the best products available on the market. Believe me, I am a hardcore geek and I can confirm this. 4) He doesn't bullshit on pricing and/or labor. Most importantly he always approaches a project with the mindset of how can we can cut back or spend less. When something is unnecessary, he is clear and won't take the work for the sake of making a commission.

Ed does outstanding work! He's professional and is great to work with. He also has excellent knowledge of all things audio/visual and electrical, and is fantastic at explaining technical information to others (including vendors and clients) that make it better to understand. We use him for all of our previous and current projects and plan on using his expertise for future projects as well! We would highly recommend Island Smart Homes without question.
