Karen was wonderful--easy to work with, very knowledgeable, conscientious, and diligent. The folks who work for her were excellent! And, she understood that I had a brain in my head and respected my thoughts and ideas.

Karen assisted us in updating our 25 year old master bathroom. We liked the layout we already had, but needed assistance pulling the whole project together. I wanted something easy to clean and maintain, Karen knew the exact product I should have. I am extremely pleased with the product as it is very easy to clean. When picking out flooring, I agonized over which one, Karen looked at a few samples, said how about this one, and that’s the one I went with. She worked with us throughout the construction process as well, insuring things were going along smoothly. I was pleased with her contractors as well. They came in, did the job, consulted with us when needed. I am very happy with the end result of my bathroom update. Karen basically knew what I needed, even when I didn’t.

Karen did an excellent job of reconfiguring a small (6x8) 1950s bathroom into a contemporary bath "spa." The project took space from an adjoining linen closet and a very small portion of a clothes closet to enlarge the footprint. While we chose the style , color scheme and types of materials, Karen provided a great range of products to choose from and took care of all the ordering and scheduling. The construction team was exceptionally good, polite and easy to work with. Karen's team was also very good at solving issues in the previous bathroom such as a leaking window, ceiling fan, and old plumbing. Both the carpenter and tile craftsman were extremely talented. Karen stayed on budget and was generally able to work within the expected timeframe.

After daydreaming about this project for 20 years, my husband and I decided the time was at hand to take this dream and make it a reality. We were so glad to have Karen backing us up. She was just what we needed. Her honesty, creativity, and real interest helped us like and understand exactly where we were headed. One of her suggestions was LED under cabinet lighting. We hesitated, but decided to follow her suggestion. We love them and everything else. My husband is an Engineer and often, even a year later will say, "This is a perfect production line". What a compliment!

We contracted with Karen Lewis of uncommon kitchens&bath to design and rebuilt our 30 year old uncommonly small, cramped kitchen. We are very pleased with the results. We found Karen to be an interesting person as well as a creative designer. She is a master plumber as well as a certified kitchen and bath designer. She was a good listener and patient with us as we worked to clarify our design over several months with a number of face to face meetings. She referred us to various venders to see available products in order to decide what would best meet our needs. She worked with us to explore cost-effective options on our replacement kitchen tile floor so that it would blend with the existing tile in the dining area. We were also impressed with the quality of the contractors she hired to rebuild our kitchen; she regularly checked to ensure that the rebuild was going well. The project was completed within the original budgeted amount. We had an excellent experience with Karen and would recommend her work to others.

Karen designed both my kitchen and my master bathroom. She is creative and thoughtful in her designs and problem-solving. She is very collaborative when working with her customers. This is especially helpful when doing a remodel project with limitations on space and infrastructure constraints. She will go the extra mile to get her client what they want and need for function and value. She even drove me to Boston to look at bath fixtures and other items at the Design Center, just so I could have a complete range of items to chose from for my new bathroom, She also takes care of customers after the project is completed, and anything that doesn't perform 100% gets addressed and corrected. Her humor and practical view towards her work is also most appreciated.
