Founded in 2007, Michael Del Piero Good Design has created a distinctive interior design aesthetic that fuses rough with luxurious and ancient with modern. The firm's approach to “the mix” has garnered accolades from a worldwide and most discerning clientele. Based on three simple principals: Strive for balance. Create interiors which are as current as they are enduring, as sophisticated as they are approachable and as unusual as they are beautiful. Take care of your clients as if they are royalty, if even, they are not. Fueled by world travel and an appetite for all things beautiful, in 2008 Michael opened her eponymous shop in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood. Showcasing sculptural furniture, unusual objects and abstract art , the venue bows to the “never precious” style of its founder. MDPGD's work has appeared in over 350 interior design blogs as well as in national and regional publications such as Traditional Home, House Beautiful, The New York Times, The Chicago Tribune, and 1st Dibs Introspective who declared their work as “truly, one of a kind”.

Stan Bid

Lukas attempted to sell me a table and told me it would take 2 months once I paid my deposit. Several months later and he continued to insist the table was on its way. I contacted the manufacturer directly and it turned out they dropped him from licensing the furniture years ago due to fraud. He was fraudulently selling furniture he was not licensed to sell. Lukas only returned my deposit after I contacted my credit card company and reported him for fraud. Beware!

Michael Del Piero Good Design designed my kitchen, dining room and family room renovation. They worked seamlessly with my contractor. The MGD team (especially Judson Barrett-O’Keefe) was a pleasure to work with and always professional. I appreciate their design approach and process. This is my second time with MDP, and I am just as ecstatic with the result as the first time around (living room, entry, powder room, master bedroom). I appreciate their willingness to collaborate while still keeping the overall vision intact. They make the decision process so easy. Trusting your designer is crucial, and MGD has not let me down. My only negative is that Michael, herself, would have been onsite more often.

I have not only had the pleasure of photographing Michael's beautiful interiors but have used her design firm for my own home. Michael is by far one of the most talented people in the industry. She has a distinctive style that blends modern with ancient, textures and color with a seamless simplicity that is beyond exceptional. I am alway excited to see one of her new projects. Everyone of them is an inspiration and a visual delight. Her work is so layered and sophisticated but completely livable. I can honestly say the impact her influence has had on my home has been considerable. I feel she has the ability to elevate any space to a level of refinement and sophistication.

My husband and I have used Michael del Piero many times for extensive design consultation. With each project, Michael listened to what we wanted to accomplish and was instrumental in achieving our vision. The projects were quite different: a 7500 sq foot home in Winnetka, IL, a 4 BR contemporary condo in downtown Chicago's Gold Coast, a condo on MIami Beach, a 500 sq foot studio in downtown Chicago and two NYC apartments. Michael's sense of scale, color and design is perfection. She gave us options and brought unique pieces to us that we could never find on our own. We go back to Michael over and over for design consultation because she is the best. I wish there were more than 5 stars!

Michael has an extraordinary ability to incorporate lifestyle, functional requirements and design into what we like. She consistently comes up with innovative ideas that meld together the different styles my husband and I tend to like (and disagree about sometimes) Michael's experience designing a wide variety of spaces for all types of people and places has helped us get perspective on many ideas and budgets. She beautifully incorporates our ideas and interests and makes sure we make good decisions for the long term. She has the ability to pick just the right element or object that makes the room special.In our kitchen, she found fabulous hardware that made a simple kitchen great. Our family room required a massive HVAC upgrade and Michael picked the perfect flooring for radiant heat. Literally, every room in our house has a special idea or treatment that she came up with. Michael creates beautiful spaces that you want to live in.
