Kevin O'Connor Design

We are a small kitchen and bathroom remodeling contractor and have worked with over 10 designers in the past. Kevin is by far the best we have ever worked with. His 3D renderings, communication, client relationship and plans are a 10 out of 10. Highly reccomend.

We could not be happier with Kevin O’Connor and the design work he did for our upcoming remodel. We had done our own design on a kitchen remodel in our last home about 15 years ago and thought we did a good job. So with this remodel, we thought we could do the same thing – do the design ourselves and save some money on a designer. But we quickly got in over our heads. Enter Kevin to save the day! Not only did he help us work through some of the obstacles that we could not figure out on our own, he came up with some other ideas that really tied the whole thing together. We are SUPER pleased with the result. We also very much enjoyed his process. Several in-home meetings, followed by some virtual meetings and phone calls. But best of all was the virtual rendering of the design with the ability to walk through the design using virtual reality (VR) goggles (Meta Quest). Not only was it SUPER COOL to get a preview of the “to-be” remodel in VR 3D, we were also able to make design decisions that we likely would not have occurred to us by just staring at a set of blueprints. Attached are some “as-is” and “to-be” pictures based on Kevin’s Design Bottom line – we *thought* we had an eye for design and wanted to save some money by not hiring a designer. Kevin was worth every penny we spent making sure we maximized all the opportunities for a next level living space. Thank you Kevin! This is our second time using Kevin for our kitchen and bathroom design. Can’t say enough good things about him. He thinks of solutions and comes up with ideas for tricky layouts. Spent a lot of time with us in person, over the phone and zoom. Every detail was talked about and discussed with alternate options, including lighting, electrical placement, etc. His attention to every detail was beyond my expectations. He personally helped me order cabinets which was a language I didn’t know existed and I’m so grateful he helped me place the order. I’m so happy we hired Kevin again and our kitchen wouldn’t have been this amazing without him! I love our kitchen and our bathroom!

We returned to Kevin for a kitchen design at our new home after he designed the kitchen and bath in our previous home. Kevin is incredibly patient and has a gift for translating what can often be very different styles my husband and I have. He listens to all our wishes, asks excellent questions to get to the use of the space, and then comes up with several options. It is very easy to see the design with the technology he uses (including 3D to “tour”) so nothing is really left to the imagination. After reviewing the designs he goes back and reworks it based on feedback and comes up with one final design. He makes himself available to give ideas and follow up as well. We have received compliments from contractors on the thoroughness of the design pages. We had zero hesitation in going back to Kevin for our latest design needs and would happily do so again.

As a general contractor we are always looking for designers to take our projects to that next level. Kevin provided exactly that. He was easy to work with, reliable, and provided the absolute most detailed plans we have ever seen. We are grateful for our partnership with Kevin and hope to continue it for many years to come.

If the option to give more stars was allowed, we would! Kevin was extremely professional and easy to work with. We are looking forward to using Kevin's expertise in the future to renovate other parts of our house. We can't wait to see his design come to fruition!

Kevin is fantastic. We worked together to create a plan that will transform our garage and outdoor space, and we're thrilled with both the process and the result. Kevin listened carefully to what we were looking for, helped us refine our wish list, and came up with a creative plan that maximizes the available space. After the initial review, he added a couple of very cool touches that elevated the plan to a new level. We're super excited to build, and would work with Kevin again.

Kevin was terrific! We are doing a fairly large remodel, including 2 full bathrooms. Being that we have no experience, and minimal design skills, he really helped steer us in the right direction. His expertise and his sophisticated software really helped us with our vision. We could not have done it without him, and I would highly recommend him!

Kevin was super easy to work with. Our builder recommended him because Kevin's extremely thorough final plans give him exactly what he needs to work with no ambiguity or follow-up questions. Kevin's design accounted for both the existing features of the house and the outdoor environment in our area. Very pleased with the final product.

We have been working with Kevin since December 2021. We are turning our family room and kitchen into one big kitchen and turning our formal living room into a family room. We have had many plans going back and forth, it is a process! Kevin has a background in cabinetry which is incredibly helpful when designing the kitchen. He is easy to work with and is very prompt. We have enjoyed working with Kevin and would highly recommend him.
