We collaborated with Jenn from J.THOM during our renovation and we were able to transform our newly purchased house into our dream home! Being new to completing a project of this scale, our top priority was to find a designer who would listen and provide honest transparency throughout the entire process. Jenn’s level of engagement was outstanding and we were extremely appreciative of Jenn’s ability to continuously improve (esthetically and practically) on the original plans while staying within budget. Jenn’s constant communication and willingness to be onsite made it easy for our family to spend the majority of the renovation overseas. Jenn was present for every delivery and made certain that everything was made to perfection. Having somebody we could trust and know had our best interest in mind was critical to the overall success. We returned home to something far beyond our expectations. With plans to renovate other areas of our home in the future, we looking forward to working with Jenn and J. Thom again!

Jason and his team did a phenomenal job redesigning our kitchen. We originally approached JThom to update our current layout. The team offered us an option that completely transformed how we use entire our first floor, creating a true open plan and making our beautiful new kitchen the centerpiece of our home. My wife and I worked with Michael on a complete rebuild of our kitchen and a partial renovation of our master bathroom. We loved every step of the process working with Michael to bring our vision to life on these projects. During our brainstorming sessions he listened carefully to each of our preferences and ideas and responded with suggestions that perfectly melded our approaches. In selecting layouts and materials he offered the perfect amount of choice, providing a range of suggestions that reflected our preferences and didn't overwhelm us. Michael's designs allowed us to get the absolute most out of our small spaces and created a beautiful living space for us while helping us stay within our project budget. He came up with creative ways to maximize space and convenience based on our priorities and lifestyle, and always stayed true to our vision. We absolutely love the designs he came up with for our house and all of the materials he found for us. Michael also expertly oversaw the renovation process and made it as easy as possible for us. He worked tirelessly to ensure every aspect of the project was done correctly and with attention to detail. We could not have loved our experience working with Michael any more, and we could not be happier with the final result.

J.THOM successfully guided us in selecting our dream kitchen. Jason listened to our requirements and came up with solutions that would meet our needs as both a family and entertainers. He designed ways for us to hide sippy cups, store wine and display our cherished items. He helped us imagine a clutter-free kitchen that would function more efficiently and even improve our cooking experiences. From appliances, to cabinets, to backsplash, our kitchen came together just as we hoped. A neighbor referred us to J.THOM for assistance with our kitchen and master bath renovations. This was a first for us and Michael was extremely helpful with design which met our objectives in both rooms. The recommendation for a contractor was a huge plus, especially during a pandemic. Michael was very patient during selection of countertops, fixtures, lighting, tiles, flooring etc as we weren’t quite sure what we wanted but did know what we didn’t like. Jason and his staff designed our dream kitchen in our condo unit in 2018 (and revamped our master bathroom). They turned a small, dark space into a gorgeous and well-loved and -used kitchen with acres of storage space and a hidden laundry space, to boot. Now they’re completely redoing our guest bathroom and turning our blah second floor into a library/office. And adding built in storage to our living room. We wouldn’t have anyone else do our designs!

My husband and I hired J. Thom last spring to help us design our new kitchen. We were originally going to do an IKEA kitchen, but after our first visit and consultation at the J. Thom showroom we were sold on the quality of products that they use, their expertise in planning, design and insight for product sourcing. Not only did they take all of our needs into consideration with the design and build of our kitchen, but they saw the project through to completion. Which was appreciated when issues arose. They quickly problem solved and at the end we have a kitchen that’s better than what we expected and enjoy being in everyday.

Jason Thompson helped us design our kitchen for a total house renovation we completed in late 2019, and we couldn’t be happier with how the kitchen turned out. The house is a late 19th century Philadelphia brownstone, and I wanted to have a more modern kitchen, while my husband has more traditional tastes. Jason was amazing at creating a kitchen that blended our interests perfectly and seamlessly fits the character of the house. Jason had an excellent process for determining our interests and listened to us carefully. He understands the big picture of the project very well, and knows how to create a space that is beautiful and functional at the same time. He has a keen eye for detail, is great with color schemes and helped us work through overall design as well as the finer details. Jason is also a great problem solver, and helped us to seamlessly and cost-effectively resolve issues that arose in the field during construction. We were so pleased with his work we wished we had used his expertise for our bathrooms and quite possibly the entire house. In fact, we just reached out to him to help us remedy certain elements of our master bathroom that would not have come up had he been in our corner when we designed it. We highly recommend J. Thom and would unquestionable use Jason for a house project again. As we set out on a gut renovation of our new home, we completely rearranged the layout, which included moving our kitchen to the opposite side to take advantage of water views. The footprint of the new kitchen area presented several challenges. Enter J.THOM. In our first design meeting, they presented three layouts, all of which solved the problems we were facing with the space. After deciding on a layout, we then worked on all of the details -- this was the fun part. J.THOM always came up with selections that fit our needs and aesthetics. We hired Jason and his team to completely re-think our South Philly kitchen. We started with a cookie cutter, barely useable kitchen. We ended up with a really unique space that flows from the front door to the back deck. We still marvel at how well Jason listened to our needs during the planning phases. In 2017 we engaged J.Thom to redesign our kitchen. We were so pleased with the result that in 2018 we asked them to redesign the master bath, closet and storage area. This project included a complete tear out! It too was completed on time! The closet space was changed for maximum storage! The entire area is beautiful and the bath is spectacular! J.Thom designers listen to you. They take copious notes, prepare several plans for your review and are thorough in their attention to detail. Their design reflects your wishes, you cost concerns, and the over all style of your home. In the past we have built a home and renovated two previous residences. This company is most professional of all.

We had a great experience working with J THOM. They were incredibly accessible and every part of the design process was a pleasure. And who knew there are such things as secret drawers within drawers for pot lids!

Jason and his staff at J.Thom were terrific. Buying this house was a major undertaking but Jason made the process seamless and straightforward. I wanted a kitchen that reflected my love of cooking but one that wasn't pretentious or standard looking. I challenged Jason to use different materials on the counters, island and sous chef block to make it look unique. He delivered with flying colors. Our kitchen is the center of our house and we have received unanimous glowing feedback on the warmth and style. In addition, Jason designed a custom stove hood which we were hesitant to invest in but we trusted Jason that it would make all the difference., and it truly has. How could a hood be artistic and beautiful and add so much to a kitchen? This is the advantage of using Jason. He was able to understand what I wanted and able to add so much artistic creativity to make it warm and beautiful. I tell my husband that it was worth waiting 20 years of marriage to have this dream kitchen.

A year ago we hired J.Thom to do a full renovation to our master suite. They were an absolute pleasure to work with along the way, and the results were amazing! We loved the end-to-end service they offered, and the creativity they inserted into the project. We were so pleased with the results, that we hired them again to do a renovation to the first floor of our house which include the living room and kitchen. They listened to our needs and somehow found a way to make it all work! We truly couldn't be happier with the end result of both projects.

We hired J. THOM for a major kitchen renovation in our 2 bedroom condo and couldn't be happier with the results. The process started as we made an unplanned walk-in visit to the J. THOM showroom on Pine Street to see what services Jason's company offered. We were impressed with the variety of cabinet lines J. THOM carried, and with the end-to-end service they offered. The end-to-end service was important to us and what eventually led us to choose J. THOM for our project. Jason and team provided design services, multiple contractor quotes, regular milestone checkpoints, contractor scheduling and communication services and even helped smooth out the kinks inevitably involved in a gut renovation in a high rise building. Jason and team were also sensitive to our budget. Designing a kitchen is much more than picking cabinets and appliances - it is about the details in the busiest room in the house. Jason took the time to understand what was important to us in our tiny kitchen space: a modern European esthetic with ultra-efficient storage solutions and smooth workflows. Then, Jason used his Spanish Mobalco line of cabinets to design a beautiful modern kitchen, one that is easy to work in, and one the provides more storage space, despite removing an entire wall of upper cabinets!! Attention to detail was very important in the condo, as there were some tricky transitions between half-walls and support pillars and condo electrical an plumbing infrastructure. J. THOM's design handled all of these challenges with creativity and grace. The attention to detail continued with J. THOM's installers: the cabinets were installed with the precision required by the clean, modern lines. J. THOM's kitchen has beautified our home and given us more storage and a great workspace. It has also improved the value of our home significantly. We have other design projects that we want to tackle in the next couple years, and we'll trust J. THOM with that work, too. It was a pleasure to work with Jason, Michael and Laurence and we look forward to doing so again.

We have worked with Jason on the Kater St. projects on this site. We have hired him again and again. As you can see, he is fantastic. What sets JThom apart is Jason's multidisciplinary approach. He combines architectural design, aesthetics, and procurement, all in one person. If separate architects are involved, he helps to tweak what they plan, and supervises how the contractors execute. He puts forward several choices and helps you decide. He has excellent taste, and if you let him he will experiment --- with great results. He is also a good advocate when contractors are not as invested in perfection as you are. His staff are attentive, but the buck stops with him. We will use Jason again, for sure.

It was Michael Howett from JThom who was there the day the truck arrived with 19 boxes of kitchen cabinets to check things off the sheet. It was Michael who nudged the kitchen cabinet installer repeatedly to show up to continue the work. It was Michael who showed me numerous options on how to arrange my kitchen layout the most efficient, logical way for my life style. Having someone who lives and breathes kitchen design made the experience smooth, professional and comfortable. He also kept me on-task for the decisions I needed to make to keep the project moving. Jason and company designed and built our living room cabinetry. They also planned the general look for the room and chose the paint and wallpaper. We were immensely pleased with the result! Their ability to look at an empty space and envision a finished product is impressive. We are planning to use J Thom Cabinetry for our next project!!
