Our 30+ year old small kitchen was in need of a makeover and desperately needed additional functionality. Darlene and Bill listened to our needs and came up with a beautiful, functional design and gorgeous cabinets. They suggested closing off a hallway and adding even more space to the existing footprint, which we did, and ended up with a bonus pantry and coat closet. As experts and professionals in the business for decades, they think of everything! While we chose to do the demo and install ourselves, they were readily available to assist us with their knowledge as we needed it. If they weren't in the office, their staff helped us as well. We remodeled our kitchen using the services of Distinctive Designs. It was a wonderful experience as Bill and Darlene designed a beautiful kitchen to fit in our space. They also helped us select the items to compliment our new kitchen including a table, window treatments, light fixtures, flooring and backsplash. Thank you to the great team at Distinctive Design. We just completed a remodel of our kitchen and laundry room and could not be happier! We recently downsized and found our kitchen and laundry room were not working. I do think it is important to live in a space for a while to really understand pros and cons of your space. So, I called Darlene and the team was in action! This is the second time I have used Distinctive Designs to remodel a kitchen and the 4th project overall. The quality of their cabinets are incredible and they bring it all together with counter tops, paint options and hardware. In this space I had found a floor tile that I really loved and the Design team embraced my choice and suggested beautiful options to compliment the tile. They offer an informational class that offers suggestions on cabinetry, flooring, lighting, countertops, appliances and design. The contractor, Mike Coats, they used for the remodel was very trustworthy and the quality of work was excellent. We started our project in October and were projected a completion date of December and they meet that deadline. Darlene, Bill (owners) and Lucy (love her!!) were always professional and made you feel like we were their only client. Their knowledge of design made our process easier because they offered their expert advice on every aspect of our remodel. If you use them, they will not disappoint.

My tiny 1938 kitchen finally entered the 21st century. Distinctive Design helped me with what I thought was impossible. It is delightful to own a dream kitchen with so little exertion on my part. Their team did all the planning, I get to enjoy the transformation.

Bill and Darlene and their team turned our 1970s kitchen and office spaces into modern day beautiful and functional spaces. We are immensely pleased with their design and the contractor they chose to tear out and rebuild these two large spaces. They even found a way to design a beautiful laundry room between the kitchen and office! We can't think of any way this could have turned out better. The whole experience went smoothly, they were very attentive to our needs and wants, and treated us as if we were their only clients. Can't say enough about this professional and personable team!

Bill and Melissa were great. Had a VERY dated bath that is again functional AND looks good too! Delays can be frustrating (waiting on materials or scheduling) but to be expected. Would recommend and would use again.

We hired Distinctive Designs to help us with our master bedroom/bath and 2nd floor laundry addition. We built over an existing first-floor room, so we had a specific footprint for the build. Darlene offered a number of design options and really focused on what we wanted. In the end she managed to fit everything we wanted in the space in a way that works really well for us and looks beautiful. I doubt we would have gotten the project done without her! The whole team helps you set and stay on a schedule. They did a great job and we were impressed with how well they listened and were able to create a design that fit our needs and desires. They also have strong relationships with local builders and suppliers, like Arizona Tile and Springfield Electric, which made selecting all the finishes easier, too. Overall, we had an excellent experience and would recommend them to our friends.

We have done two projects. The first involved our kitchen, dining room, and living room in late 2012, early 2013. The second involved two full bathrooms in March of 2016. We enjoyed working with Darlene and Bill, and found the entire staff capable and responsive. They listened well, brought creative ideas to the design (ones we would never have imagined!), and oversaw the actual work. They provided a helpful interface between the contractors and us. In the second remodel we were actually absent from our home for the entire month of the work. They kept us informed, sent us pictures, and followed the project from beginning to end while we were away. We care for an elderly parent in our home, and are ourselves aging, so their "aging in place" design features were important to us. The projects were more expensive than we first imagined, but there were no regrets with the quality. Every day we use and see the results and we are very pleased. Their expertise is a gift that keeps on giving.

I met the Distinctive Design team at the 2016 Home Expo in Springfield. After meeting with them at my home and in their office to discuss my project ideas and needs, I hired them to make my old kitchen go away and the new one appear! And that they did! The project took a total of three months and I am very well satisfied with the plans, advice and work that took place to accomplish the job. They formulated the plans necessary to incorporate my ideas, did the design work (down to the last sixteenth of an inch) to provide their builders, assisted me in selecting the cabinets, countertops, colors, flooring, backsplash, lighting fixtures and appliances in order to make my dream come true! They were prompt when meetings were scheduled, helpful when issues needed to be resolved, professional in every way and friendly and supportive during the whole project. And believe me, when you start tearing out walls and changing the configuration of your home, you need support and friendly, professional help! They exceeded my expectations and I am not that easily pleased! My advice is for you to give them an opportunity to assist you in your remodeling needs. I am glad I did!

We decided to update our 20+ year old kitchen. After visiting their showroom and meeting their staff, we decided to have Distinctive Designs develop a plan and design for remodeling our kitchen. They carefully analyzed our space. They did a fantastic job of analyzing how we would use the kitchen and made fantastic suggestions as to design and materials on how to the make the kitchen more useful and much more beautiful and contemporary. The also carefully listened to our suggestions and inputs. They were extremely patient in addressing our requests. "No" was not in their vocabulary. If it could be done, they made it happen. They spent a lot of extra time working with us to finalize our design. We felt we ended up with an extremely beautiful and functional design. They also helped us obtain the services of an exceptional general contractor. They provided us guidance and support from design to initial demolition through to completion. I was hooked at their design seminar. The entire design crew was very helpful and they worked several of my ideas into the remodeling plan. They weren't pushy with their recommendations, and when all was completed, I was extremely satisfied.

Dick Van Dyke and Arizona Tile gave presentations showing the latest in appliances and tile.They choose Bob, the builder as my contractor and he was exceptional to work with on all the details. My kitchen was a design nightmare. A large window on one side of the room. Darlene and Bill reconfigured the layout if the whole room so in the end I felt like I was in a completely different room. The people they had working in my house were exceptional. The people at Distinctive Design know what they are doing.
