Thrilled with our new kitchen designed by Dan at DDK. We came in with a vision of restoring our kitchen to its 1920’s glory and Dan’s expertise and guidance got us everything we imagined and more. We had our own thoughts on finishes and Dan helped us make sure our choices were practical, functional and timeless. The Dutchmade cabinets we went with are gorgeous and so well constructed. ED enterprise (the contractors DDK works with) was a dream to work with. Their craftsmanship, reliability and attention to detail were unmatched. Would 100% recommend DDK if you’re going for a tried and true kitchen design company who sells gorgeous, well constructed millwork, installed by true craftsmen.

I had a fabulous experience working with Anne at DDK. I had a design vision in my head, but Anne really helped me think through the minutia details that are really important when designing a kitchen. She was thorough (and patient!) when taking me through cabinetry options, styles, etc. She also connected me with a wonderful contractor and other suppliers (like stone), who were helpful, trust-worthy, and responsive. I love my new kitchen and I wouldn't hesitate working with DDK again.

DDK (and Anne Dempsey, in particular) were terrific throughout our kitchen remodel process. At the design stage, DDK offered very creative and functional ideas. Then when it came to deciding the style, DDK was enormously helpful tying in ideas and thoughts that flowed well with the rest of the house. When it came to ordering, delivery, and installation everything was transparent and as expected and agreed upon. DDK/Anne made what would have been an overwhelming project on our own far more straight forward with ideas that made sense and were pragmatic from both an aesthetic and functional use. It was a true pleasure to work with Jean and Dan Thompson from DDK Kitchen Group on our new kitchen that was part of an addition project at our house. They spent time getting to know us and our style and always offered options and alternatives in considering our style preferences and our budget. My husband and I recently completed our kitchen and master bathroom remodel with DDK. They both look beautiful and we are very happy with the results. We had an excellent experience with DDK from beginning to end. This was our first time doing a renovation, and we previously had no idea how many details are involved. Jean and Momi were a pleasure to work with. They gave great advice on all aspects, including suggesting things that we wouldn’t have thought of, that not only make the kitchen more functional but are really fun. For example, we got a steam oven which we like a lot and now use for most of our cooking. We recently completed our second kitchen remodel with DDK and are absolutely thrilled with the results. Our kitchen could not be more perfectly suited to our needs for cooking, as well as for storage. All of it is housed in elegant cabinetry. Working with Dan Thompson was a pleasure. He was knowledgeable, creative, and meticulously responsive every step of the way. He listened carefully and thoughtfully to what we wanted/needed in our kitchen and made it all happen. Our project with DDK was the complete redo of a 12 x 13 ft townhouse kitchen. Dan Thompson was easy to work with, very creative, communicative throughout, and delicately balanced differing views between my wife and me. We are very pleased with the value and quality of the cabinets and cabinet hinges/hardware. As we were redoing every square inch of our townhouse, we ended up using our main contractor for installation instead of the one recommended by DDK. Dan stopped by to discuss the installation with our contractor and promptly followed up with us on any questions. We are very pleased with DDK and recommend them among the many kitchen designers on the north shore of Chicago.

DDK was outstanding from beginning to the end. They were very focused on what my kitchen needed to do for me and were great at suggesting design ideas that would make the kitchen more functional and fun. I can honestly say it was the easiest renovation that I have ever done in my 115 year old home. They were a pleasure to work with and very concerned that I was a satisfied client. Highly recommend.

A few years ago we worked with Dana Martin to update our kitchen and family room.dana was great in helping select countertops, cabinets, appliances and her special touches like adding beadboard to the ceiling. She did a fine job of marrying details into the den area. Her attention to detail, as well as Dan was amazing!

In 2019, when we decided to renovate our kitchen and master bathroom in our condo in the north shore suburb, we worked with Nancy Henry who is an interior designer with DDK. We are happy to say that we could not have found a better design professional to work with on our project. Nancy provided the most valuable service throughout the process by guiding us on the selection of cabinetry & hardware, materials, finishes & colors, countertop, kitchen appliances, plumbing fixtures and accessories. She presented very creative ideas and patiently discussed functionality, merits and cost implications of different options and helped us make decisions which have resulted in an excellent end product of the highest quality. Nancy also suggested the name of contracting firm ED Enterprises Inc whose excellent performance and execution were as seamless and flawless as DDK team's design and procurement service. Per her suggestions, we also worked with the suppliers of kitchen countertops & floor tiles as well as the kitchen appliances and plumbing fixtures. All of them provided five star services and we are very thankful for all of Nancy's suggestions. My wife now has a very functional and very well designed kitchen where every detail has been well thought out and executed. In conclusion, I would like to add that I have written this review as a very satisfied client who also happens to be an architect. Although my professional experience of working with AE firms in Chicago area has mostly been on larger commercial and institutional projects - and not much on residential projects, I feel I can be a good judge on the performance of design and construction professionals. From my and my wife's personal experience on our project, we would not hesitate to recommend Nancy Henry and her colleagues at DDK kitchen Design Group to any one who wishes to design or remodel their kitchens, bathrooms and other areas in their homes. We were impressed with Dan Thompson the first time we met him. His knowledge, experience, and creativity were far superior to the other professionals we considered. My original kitchen was tiny, ugly & barely functional in a building that is over 90 years old. I went to DDK because my cousin used DDK 20 years ago for her kitchen & was very satisfied. Anne Dempsey worked with me giving suggestions and support. She was generous with her time and patient with my lack of knowledge about the myriad choices to be made. Mark & Kevin did the major heavy lifting of the job. Nothing was level or plumb when they started. They removed pantry walls & a window. They removed pipes from the walls that had no purpose. They worked consistently and I had complete confidence leaving them to do their work. Now I am thrilled every time I walk into my bright, beautiful, functional kitchen. Fantastic experience. When contacted Dan drew the perfect kitchen design. The next steps were easy and efficiently handled. The installation started when materials were available so there was no lost time waiting for cabinets, flooring, back splash etc. The crew doing the installation were very professional and respectful of the building and my condo. The kitchen was completed in four weeks. I wish they did more than kitchens, I would have them do every room.

Nancy Henry was helpful all the way through my kitchen and master bath remodel project. She is much more than a cabinet salesperson: she is a design professional. She is up-to-date on trends in materials, lighting, and furnishings, as well as appliances. Dan and Jean (who own DDK) were excellent on our total gut kitchen rehab job. They both have excellent taste, and gave us practical inside information on which designs and products work best in a given situation. They also brought in a top notch construction company (ED Industries), which helped keep the dust and the stress down. We kept on budget and on schedule, and the whole process was about as painless as possible. We would absolutely recommend them - the final product is beautiful.

We recently completed a full kitchen remodel. Our previous kitchen was outdated, cramped and dark. Nancy Henry from DDK designed a most beautiful kitchen that is updated, roomy and bright. Nancy is great to work with and very creative. She provide advice on everything and was always a step ahead of us. She also visited the local appliance store to confirm all our new appliances would fit. Nancy also recommended a great contractor whom she and we worked well with. Overall, I give DDK and especially Nancy Henry a high five. We are so proud to call this kitchen our own.

From the moment we stepped in to DDK in Glenview, Jean and Dan Thompson made us feel like we were family. Every step of the process from design through build was well thought out and they made it as painless as possible. The results of our redesign is that they were somehow able to take what we had dreamt about and turn it in to reality. Our kitchen design was quite complex as this included the removal of a vertical support beam and replacement of a 26 foot steel beam placed in the ceiling in it's place. In addition we added a pantry, butlers pantry, office off the kitchen and of course the main kitchen. Everyone who sees it is blown away with the look (including us). But as DDK said, equally important is how well the kitchen has to work and they were definitely right! We use it everyday for multiple meals and we are so thankful for the knowledge and experience DDK had in the design. Literally every element has a purpose and it flows perfectly. Another important point was after the design and ordering, DDK also recommended ED Enterprises for the labor. It's one thing to plan, but the buildout can be so painful. Thankfully, the combination of project management by DDK and ED Enterprises made this as easy to live through as possible. Ultimately, we can't say enough about the experience working with DDK. Remodeling a kitchen is a daunting task, especially if you have three kids (9, 13 and 15) like we do . DDK made it as painless as possible. Living through the building was a breeze, even for our dog! Honestly, our most difficult decisions were picking cabinet colors and drawer pulls. If you're on the fence for a full service designer, then look no further. Just call Dan and/or Jean at DDK, you won't regret it.

When I decided to renovate my kitchen last year, I visited numerous companies and chose to work with Anne Dempsey at DDK. Anne was fantastic - I highly recommend her. My space was a little challenging - about 9' x 15' and every wall has at least one doorway or window, none of which could be modified. I gave Anne a list of what I liked and didn't like about my old kitchen and she used it to create two alternatives (including detailed drawings &costs) that I reviewed before committing to the project. My new kitchen has everything I wanted thanks to Anne's creativity. The installation was done by ED Enterprises - DDK often works with them. They were great, too.

Anne Dempsey was a pleasure to work with. With a smaller sized kitchen, she maximized our usage space beautifully. Most importantly, she listened to how we actually used the space and incorporated that into her design. No problems with delivery. And when our house burned two years after our remodel - Anne had all the plans ready and waiting!

The finished product, completed on time, was unbelieveable. It exceeded our expectations! It is perfect! Our experience of working with Jean and Dan, who are experts in their field, along with being kind caring and talented people, couldn’t have been better. We highly recommend using DDK!

I purchased new cabinets from DDK in early 2017. Unfortunately they really FAILED. The designer came up with a great design and the cabinets we decided on were great. However, DDK changed the size of some of the main cabinet in my order after I signed off on the order and paid them half upfront, all without telling me. I did not find out until the cabinets were installed and realized the main cabinet was three inches smaller than what I paid for. When I spoke to the owner about this, his response was "too bad, that was a decision we made." Yet they forced me to pay the full amount at delivery, before we were even able to open the boxes the cabinets came in. Furthermore, in the design phase they said they would work with my builder on the install. DDK was completely standoffish with my builder, blamed my builder for any errors, and only came out to check on the project one time. When spending $25,000 on cabinets, I strongly suggest going elsewhere. Find someone who cares about your project and not just worried about getting paid and moving on to the next job.

DDK took an ugly old, dark depressing kitchen and made it bright, open airy and perfect. they had great ideas to make the kitchen unique and perfect for us, we could not have done it without them.

I am in love with my new kitchen, two bathrooms, laundry room and family room! All rooms were total redo! Nancy knew her design and her recommendations were right on target. She is very knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to make sure that I was happy with the outcome. The work crew were very professional, polite and on time. People are stunned when they walk in and see my new rooms. They are as practical as it is beautiful. A good quality company with real expertise.

My husband and I just built our dream home and I could not be happier with my cabinets from DDK! Everyone who works there is extremely professional and makes the entire process easy and fun. Lisa, our designer, helped make my visions come true; from my off-white French-inspired country kitchen to my regal mint green cabinets in my master bath, to my daughter's cute and fun white bathroom, and lastly my modern bar. Being a former business owner myself, I must add that owner-operated businesses are always the best run operations. And, Dan the owner, is always on site making sure things run smoothly and that the customer is happy!

If the only thing you are looking for is cabinets this place will be ok. They say they are a full service design and build firm but all they really do is sell over priced cabinets, They use a third party to install and they do a great job. Otherwise they are not very helpful with design or suggestions.

I had a wonderful experience working with Dan Thompson at DDK to design my kitchen for our new home. Every time I entered the showroom, I was greeted with a friendly professional designer who assisted me weather Dan was available or not. Dan helped to provide a layout that would work best within the constraints of the space allowed. His knowledge and professionalism were outstanding! The project was delivered with all of my expectations met.

DDK helped create my dream kitchen. I probably chose the most modern cabinets they sell, and I'm SO happy with them. Dan Thompson drew the plan, measured and helped with detailed decisions. I used their contracting company, and was very glad I used them. The workers were extremely skilled, from day one. They demolished down to studs, rewired, rerouted pipes, installed plumbing, drywall, cabinets and appliances. They also refinished my wood floors, tile backsplashes and put in new windows and glass doors. The outcome was beyond my expectations. I'm forever thankful, PHOTOS ARE COMING! Prettiest kitchen/dining area ever!

I can't speak highly enough of DDK, particularly Jean and Dan Thompson. I had been planning my dream kitchen for at least a decade---as a result, I definitely had some concrete ideas. They embraced those ideas and turned my vision into a reality much beyond my dreams. Everyone who comes to my house since the kitchen renovation are awed by it! It is truly a kitchen out of Architectural Digest but better--it functions perfectly and easily. There are certain touches that they had never done before and not only did they do well, you would have thought they had done 100s of kitchens like it. For instance, I wanted a reclaimed wood hood for my stove. It is not only functional but a stunning piece of art. I wanted a appliance garage but I didn't want the traditional doors--they found a door that minimized space and looked like a cabinet. Also, they were extremely conscious of my budget. I would hire DDK again in a moment--they really made my dreams become a reality--and then some!!!

DDK designed our kitchen in 2007 during our gut-rehab of our current home. We converted a galley kitchen into an open space kitchen that really transformed our property in Northbrook. We are very satisfied with their work and would highly recommend them.

DDK worked closely with us, our interior designer and construction company to completely replace our hideous galley kitchen. DDK's Nancy Henry was a critical part of the team helping us think through the issues involved and providing plans that opened up the kitchen to incorporate the living area. DDK came in on time and on budget of approximately $70,000. The end result was featured in The Chicago Tribune. We strongly recommend DDK and Nancy Henry for any similar projects.

I hired DDK to rehab a 1957 kitchen. INancy Henry was the interior designer that I worked with. She was absolutely outstanding! Her knowledge, creativity, and follow through was fabulous. Nancy always gave me a several options to choose from. Example: Different back splashes, countertops, cabinets, lighting etc. Her eye for detail was, again, outstanding. I counted on her professionalism but, was grateful for her warm, fun and interesting personality. This was a large project for me and without DDK and Nancy, my kitchen would not have turned out to be so beautiful.

Ddk designed, created, organized and delivered across the board in five star fashion. We did an extensive remodel of our kitchen, laundry and family room. We could not be happier with the finished product. Ddk made this process not only enjoyable but seamless. They took time to understand our vision for functional family living and beauty.. She had excellent suggestions on where and how to better improve our kitcken even though we were not going to change the main lay out of the room. She helped us in selecting the cabinets with explaining the difference in the cabinets and cost differences. She was very patient and delightful to work with, always pleasant and eager to help us in any way. She came to our home several times making sure her design was accurate. Besides being easy and patient she picked up on our tastes and helped us make deceisions which was reasurring and ultimately made for a very successful experience.

It was my good fortune to meet Kim at DDK. i told her my ideas. She had me write down "needs" and "wants" and we went from there. She came up with good ideas for extra storage working within our limited space. Together we chose cabinets, colors and countertops that all worked well with each other. She steered me to the stores where I could find the best selection of appliances and tile. She has a good knowledge of her products and a fun personality to go with it. We worked well together and I love my new kitchen!

We love our new kitchen designed by DDK Kitchen Design Group! DDK uses a team approach. Dan Thompson, the architect, and Jean Thompson, the designer, came to our house and within minutes of being in our kitchen and talking with us, suggested wonderful ideas for changes. The plan we chose has added beauty and space to our small kitchen. Throughout the process, Dan and Jean were always accessible. They listened and were very respectful of our likes and dislikes. They helped guide us through decision making, including the smallest details.They were upfront about the cost and worked within our budget. The work was completed to perfection within the time frame given to us. The process, from beginning to end, was flawless. We couldn't be happier with our decision to use DDK Kitchen Design Group.
