Sobre nosotros
Amy Hart began her design career as an Intern with Eastern Michigan University while studying in their top-rated accredited Interior Design program. As a student in 1991 she was charged with heading up the University’s ADA compliance plan, which she did successfully. After graduating with a BS in Interior Design and a wealth of practical experience, she went on to work in commercial architecture, product management, operations management, and finally found her way into the Kitchen and Bath specialty where she has thrived since 2002.
After ten years designing for hundreds of people in the Charlottesville market, and having been honored with numerous design awards, Amy turned her attention to bringing Albemarle Cabinet Co. to life. She is thrilled to foster a team approach to design where the clients have input and a stake in the new design that they are investing in. At the end of the day, success is about relationships and communication.
When designing for residential or commercial interiors, Amy believes one must “listen” to the structure and strive for a meaningful design that feels right in the space and suits her clients’ personal styles. She doesn’t heed many design “rules”, but does believe that a room needs a hero and other characteristics shouldn’t compete for attention. Sometimes the most difficult part of design is to practice restraint.
When not in “design mode”, Amy serves as Executive Director for the national non-profit organization Big C New Me, bringing much-needed services to cancer survivors and caregivers all over the USA. As a cancer survivor, Amy believes in helping others to get back to the business of living and to reach their full potential.
