Lynda MacDonald Interior Design is a full-service interior design studio, based on the Gold Coast, Queensland in Australia. With a client-centred approach, we create highly personalised spaces that combine sophisticated character with practicality for every day. Specialising in residential interiors, our team of passionate professionals aim to make your journey a seamless and fun experience from start to finish. From partial to full home renovations, new builds and interior styling, no detail is overlooked in designing a home that allows you to exhale – feeling restored and deeply connected to the place you call home. We find that most of our clients have some idea of what interior design styles they like but need help to see the bigger picture of how much better their home could look. They need guidance to find and combine all the different elements so they work together seamlessly and fit their lifestyle and budget. That’s where The Design Chaperone comes in. From a partial makeover to a full home overhaul, we will work with you to create a tailored, stylish and practical living space that you’ll LOVE to come home to. From choosing colours, materials, and finishes, through to furniture, soft furnishings, art and accessories, we’ll bring it all together into a single cohesive, well planned and designed interior scheme. As each project is different, we are then able to provide a full proposal for our Design fees after this meeting together. Lynda is brilliant designer, stylist, colour consultant - the whole package for any project. We started with a discovery call and felt so comfortable with Lynda's ability to interpret our thoughts into tangible design solutions that we took our first steps on the journey to renovate our ageing house into a wonderful and functional home - one that now has the WOW factor. The beauty of Lynda's service is that we were able to stage our outcomes covering off colour, carpets and curtaining before overlaying our full renovation - this gave us as the client the ability to match our needs to our budget. The results of our interior renovation is a testament to Lynda's flair and strength for design, whilst maintaining functionality. Lynda was able to enhance our kitchen and living spaces to create a masterful open-plan design, sourced bespoke cabinetry for our beautiful bathroom and ensuite areas and created a functional laundry with plenty of storage. Finally Lynda styled our renovated rooms creating an ambience to match the way we use the spaces. I contacted Lynda at The Design Chaperone as I needed guidance and expertise to pull together our renovation in a cohesive fashion. Previously things I had done never turned out how I had pictured them in my head. The Design Chaperone had a service called "Designer on Call" and I purchased 10 hrs of this and worked with Lynda on whatever I chose to do. We did zoom meetings for quick things that didn't need to use up much time, work on site at our home as well as doing things such as visiting tile shops to consider tile selections. Lynda was reliable and easy to communicate with. I can't recommend Lynda and her Designer on Call service highly enough.

Hiring an Interior Designer to help is an expense many people aren't exactly prepared for. It seems like you can figure things out on your own, but do yourself a favor and please hire Lynda!! She is the ultimate professional who guided us through the process seamlessly. She listened to our wants and needs as a young family and delivered beyond our highest expectations. Her vision and styling of our space brings us such joy everywhere we look! She seamlessly sourced our furniture for a big 3 bed house as well as professionally coordinated trades and deliveries which took so much stress off our plates! I highly recommend Lynda. I recently moved back into a house which had previously been a rental for a number of years. The house needed a total revamp. Lynda designed the new kitchen and updated the bedrooms and living areas. She knew exactly what I wanted to achieve and made the entire process so easy and enjoyable. The end result was fabulous.

We invited Linda to help bring our large open living space to life - an oddly shaped blank canvas. After one meeting with Linda, we left the design to her creative genius. We are thrilled with the end result, with Linda's vision for what was possible far better than we could have ever imagined without her assistance. Though delighted with the outcome the journey was also a joy. Linda was very good at listening to our preferences whilst also offering different alternatives and perceptions of furniture, furniture layout, soft furnishing combinations and light fittings. Her brilliant advice culminated in a very welcoming yet exquisite living space which blends nicely with our outside vista. Linda also arranged and managed our fire and chimney construction, which had its design complications that she navigated with all the confidence of someone who truly understands good design and flow. I worked with Lynda for about seven months from the early stages of a large renovation, right through to final styling of a number of rooms once the renovation was complete. She assisted me with many decisions such as choice of tiles, paints, carpets, fixtures and fittings, rugs, cushions, art work and even furniture placement. The completed renovation was excellent and Lynda's input was invaluable to create a beautiful home that reflected my personal style, and yet was practical for myself and my family. Lynda is a very professional lady with a large amount of knowledge and contacts. I would highly recommend her for any styling project, large or small.

Lynda is a fabulous interior designer and project manager. She did a complete revamp of our formal areas selecting materials and accessories and organising and corordinating works on and installation of wallpapers, sofa recovering, artworks and carpets.she was wonderful with follow up and when we had an issue with one of our pieces she immediately returned and organised and sorted it. She is reliable has a great eye and listens well to your requirements and wishes. She pulls a vision together and is able to modify to meet the customers expectations and budget. I can highly recommend her.

I have absolutely loved working with Lynda from Design Chaperone from the moment of engagement her understanding of the style I was looking for and the blending with existing furniture that I loved. Her initial proposal was clear, concise and came fully costed making it easy to work through the options and arrive at a final budget. Lynda was amazing! I recently moved into a new house and was feeling overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. I had some items of furniture but needed to know what else I needed. She is very confident and decisive and gave me great ideas of how to set up my living and dining room, including a layout I hadn't considered, use of existing pieces of furniture, and a list of items to buy (including suggestions of where to source them). She listened to what my needs were and gave me lots of useful tips about the best use of the space, window treatments and lighting. At the end of the session I had a floor plan of the layout and a list of items to buy. I'm so relieved to have a plan and now can start the fun part of creating an amazing space. It really was so useful and exceeded my expectations.

My husband and I agree that we made the right decision engaging Lynda from The Design Chaperone to choose the paint colours and do the property staging when selling our home late last year.
