TKD is a full service interior design and art consultation firm located in Lower Manhattan. Our design firm creates custom projects – from concept to completion. We have an extensive knowledge of the various trades in our industry and carefully curate our resources to design one-of-a-kind homes that specifically align with our clients’ lifestyle and aesthetics. We take the weight off of your shoulders by creating a completely custom design that elevates the function and style of your home - project managing every step of the way, and making sure that it’s an enjoyable experience. Terrie Koles Design was founded by Terrie Koles, an award winning designer with a background in art (MFA- painting) art direction (print and film), and interior design. Koles’ knowledge and understanding of the role that art plays in the home has been appreciated by both seasoned collectors, as well as those just starting out, as seen in Houzz. TKD believes in sourcing from responsible trade, upholding high work ethic standards, and being transparent with our clients every step of the way. Terrie was a pleasure to work with. She really listened to me when I described the feeling I wanted in the room. This was my first time using a decorator and she made the process fun and easy. I have been living in my home for 20 years and I needed to refresh my space. After speaking with her she came back with different floor plans and a mood board. Everything was laid out so well. I was able to order everything on my own and on my schedule. I would recommend Terrie to my friends and family and look forward to her helping me with another room.

Terrie is AMAZING! She turned my spare bedroom into a sleek and functional home office. Her attention to detail is second to none. She designed the entire office space (wood, colors, shapes, etc) including small details such as the location of every outlet and where every wire is hidden for multiple monitors. Not a detail was left untouched. Further, her client service is unparalleled. She went above and beyond to customize the office to my style. She had some really cool ideas which I never would have thought about. Her response time was almost instantaneous no matter when I called, emailed, or texted which is rare. I can not speak highly enough about Terrie. I give her my highest recommendation for anyone looking to hire a decorator for an entire house or single project. I can’t wait to work with her again!

As an artist, Terrie has a unique eye for color and design. She understood my style and worked with me to find unique pieces, wall coverings, flooring, etc...I feel like my space is exactly as I wished it would be! As I hoped, it is equal parts warm, happy and a bit playful. Terrie is a breath of fresh air; a real pleasure to work with!

Terrie rocks. She figured our our individual tastes and needs to be happy and comfy in our home. Terry took time to select options, then allowed us to make final decisions. She paid close attention to details in ways I didn't have the time or knowledge to do - and personally oversaw implementation. She helped us make our new home suit our tastes and inspire us every day. Two years later, I still couldn't be happy with our decor, design, and details.

Terrie Koles was the interior designer on this project from the start - from the gut to the glamour. This project entailed an entire top to bottom renovation of a country home just steps from the harbor. As a contractor team specializing in historic home renovations we appreciated her work ethic which was exemplary. Terrie is reliable and responsive and has the ability to field obstacles unforeseen when working within an existing footprint. She is team oriented, professional, easy to work with, timely and talented. Terrie has a keen eye for details and room by room creates a wonderful surrounding - beautiful, uniquely special design choices and always mindful of the individual client. We would highly recommend her!!

Terrie took a small, hodgepodge of a summer cottage and turned it into a dream vacation home for my family.. She had to work within the confines of strict historical rules of the town, keeping the exact foot print of the house while expanding the living space inside. And- she kept to my budget down to the last cent. She listened to all my concerns, and wishes, and helped guide me through the process- from the demo to furniture placement. She was remarkably patient, and always took the time to explain in detail what was going on. Terrie not only sourced the furnishings and art, but worked from the very beginning in redesigning the interior and exterior spaces of the house. As a result I now have a home that feels like mine (and am the envy of all my neighbors). I respect and trust her work ethic and incredible eye. I highly recommend her and her team.

Terrie brought her beautiful sophisticated ideas, incorporated them into my home and elevated my relaxed organic lifestyle, without compromising my need for comfort. She listens to her clients and can detect the nuances they need. I love her style and creativity. Terrie is remarkably dynamic in her ability to create a range of spaces from upscale New York City to simplified dwellings. She can appreciate a more laid back suburban lifestyle as well. Terrie has an innate ability to walk into a space and instantly understand your "style" (She was the first of four designers to tell us we had a style). Then she proceeds to explain where to spend your money for the most impact, and where you don't have to splurge. She went room by room through our house and gave us more direction in a couple of hours than we got from other designers in years. As they say... her input is priceless! Thank you Terrie, we are still following your advice, room by room.

Terrie worked on The Pajama Program's (a U.S. charity for children) gala dinner for the past 2 years. We were so impressed with her creativity and positive spirit that we hired her to do a more extensive project the second year. Terrie transformed o former bank building into a magical setting complete with stars, moon and making it feel like a beautiful and comforting children's bedroom. Terrie had unbelievable patience.She was able to work with many Board Members - each with their own opinion. She managed to make our events so memorable that people are still talking about it and she managed to do it on a reasonable budget since we are a non-profit organization where every dollar really matters. I then spoke to Terrie about having her do some window designs for a retail store. I would love to work with Terrie again- she is an artist who is imaginative, practical, and so easy to work with. I would be happy to answer any questions about my experiences with Terrie - she is truly a pleasure to work with.

I have hired Terrie Koles both as an art director/designer for my event planning company (and I continue to hire her) and as an interior designer for my home. Not only is Terrie one of the most creative people I know - sussing out a venue or a room and coming up with something fabulous in minutes - she is also super personable, communicative and intelligent. My clients LOVE her because she is easy to get along with, has great vision and because she listens. She gives them what they want and MORE. And she is a complete professional -- timely, responsible, respectful and mindful. As for her interior design work on my own apartment--well, let's just say, Terrie knows her business--she knew exactly what would work in the space, knew where to find it, knew what would please my aesthetic, understood my budget and held my hand the whole way through. I love my home. Terrie Koles is a keeper!

Terrie is a true professional! She did a tremendous job with the transformation of our home and we can't thank her enough. The job consisted of a complete remodel down to the studs of a 4 bedroom apartment in NYC. She was able to take the bones of an older building and create a contemporary but comfortable luxurious apartment. Our home value has almost doubled now since the renovation.

Terrie and her team transformed my large, historical house on Long Island from being ready-for-the-wrecking ball, to a warm, functional, and beautiful family home. She oversaw every detail, from rewiring, plumbing, and re-configuring rooms, to the finishes and furnishings. A true professional, I would highly recommend her.

Comentado: Where can I purchase the nighstand? Thank youthe wallpaper was part of an artist series and distributed through Donghia. Unfortunately, I believe that the series was limited and no longer in production.
