Tara Reavie Design

Tara has been the “glue” of our house project. She started working with us on an extensive reno of a heritage house plus new addition and when the house couldn’t be saved, we started completely over with new plans for a Scandanavian Modern Farmhouse. Tara has assisted us with many aspect of the house including: outside elevations, floorplans, interior details, lighting, plumbing fixtures and the design of our built-in cabinetry. Tara’s father works as a finishing carpenter and her knowledge about this part of construction is evident and has been an asset. Tara’s input in the early stages has been truly invaluable and my advise is to have your interior designer involved from the beginning of your project as you will end up with a much more cohesive and unified home. A great benefit has been the creation of a master “Concept File” in Google Drive. Each part of the house is organized into sections and includes floorplans, inspiration pictures, cabinet layouts, products, materials, etc. Through the process we can post pictures, ask questions and collaborate back and forth. Others involved can also be invited to view and/or collaborate. Once each area has been finalized, Tara takes the info and creates Specification Files for the builder/trades to reference ensuring everyone is on the same page. Tara is a good person, loves her family, has respect for the professionals she works with and is “real”. There is nothing fake about this girl lol! Thanks Tara : )

Tara is a fabulous designer with a lovely personality and never ending patience! I have used Tara on both kitchen and bathroom projects, her eye for detail is impeccable and somehow she manages to come up with things that you would never think of. Highly recommend Tara.

We had a great experience with Tara!!!! She was so helpful figuring out layouts and worked with our ideas even though they didn’t really work!! Hahaha. She also helped us based on our work schedules.

My husband and I worked with an architect to design our Mediterranean inspired dream home but were at a loss for exterior finishing ideas and designing the interior space of our 4600 sq. ft home Tara was a godsend We hired Tara shortly after lock up stage Tara’s extensive knowledge and skill set made her an indispensable part of the team. She continually liaised with the builders and subcontractors to get a clear understanding of their individual projects and would communicate any changes to ensure we were all on the same page. There were several times when she discovered errors, that if not found, would have compromised functionality a/o the design aesthetics, and would have cost us extra time, money and added stress. We also benefited from Tara’s finesse for cabinetry design. Her vision and design for a custom made antique style bathroom vanity gave our powder room some extra character and pizzazz. It’s gorgeous! Tara’s knowledge and creativity helped us pull all the design elements together every step of the way to completion. She took our wish list, tastes and ideas, and created a style and look that is unique and perfect for our home. It is just the right balance of both traditional and transitional Mediterranean design style elements; a few well-placed arches, beautiful rich wood planked ceilings, a Venetian clay wall treatment and a barrel ceiling in our foyer, are just a few of the special added touches. Her selection of colors and materials are both pleasing to the eye and of high quality. The result of Tara’s attention to detail and expertise is a home that is classic and elegant, stimulating, yet harmonious and peaceful. Thank you Tara for making our dream home a reality. Tara is great to work with, very knowledgeable and accommodating. Speaking as a contractor, her drawings and instructions are clear and easy to follow. Materials and supplies are ordered and on-site in a timely manner. I have, and will continue to refer Tara to clients in search of design services for any budget.

We have worked with Tara on a few projects starting first with our kitchen and then general decorating and furnishing ideas and designs in the living and dining room. Tara has been a wonderful support in this effort and we have appreciated her expertise, ideas, recommendations, product sourcing and beautiful designs. When we brought Tara into our full home renovation, we had only a vague idea of what we wanted the outcome to be. She managed to develop a look that suited both my husband’s and my aesthetics ( close to achieving world peace), while at the same time providing practical layout suggestions. She was respectful of our budget, and always available to assist in making the many smaller decisions required on a daily basis during a major renovation She worked very well with all of the contractors on the project, they respected her collaborative approach.
