We engaged Susan Muschweck Interior Design in January 2023 to remodel the master bathroom in our home. The price was in excess of $150,000. Contrary to all of my instincts, I agreed to Susan's demands that the full price be paid in advance of any of the work being done. Long story short—a year later our bathroom, project was completed but only after dealing with her contemptuous personality. The latest insult we suffered from Susan concerns an additional 24-inch brass grab bar which, despite a 3-month wait, has not been delivered to us. She claims this is a special order item that takes 3 to 4 month to fabricate, and therefore cannot be cancelled, and the cost of $820 will not be refunded to us. In the meantime, we ordered and received from Amazon an identical Grab bar for $98 two days after ordering it. It seems that grab bars are off-the-shelf items that are returnable—at least at Amazon.

I had a wonderful experience with Susan and her team. As a first-time homeowner, they guided me through the entire process and ensured I was making both smart design and financial decisions. I am thrilled with the results and will go to them next time I have a project lined up!

We recently bought our first house while getting ready to move back to the Pittsburgh area and had a truncated timeline to make any changes we wanted before moving in. We looked at several interior designer's portfolios and reviews and ultimately decided on Susan. It was the best decision that we could have made. Susan and her team rearranged their schedules to meet with us on short notice when we came to see the house. They listened to our thoughts and asked questions to figure out our style. Additionally, she helped us understand the priorities to address within our current budget. The best part, while we were still living in another city, Susan and her team were able to arrange to have our floors refinished, wall paper removed and walls painted. Then, when we decided to make changes to the kitchen, she provided options to help us meet our budget and get a beautiful result. In summary, with Susan and her team you are not just getting her style input, but a full project management service including access to top shelf stable of craftsmen. Susan was able to get our floors, walls and kitchen done in 3 months from hiring while we have many friends who have been working on similar renovations for more than a year. Definitely worth the cost!

First off, our cousin recommended Susan and team for our home renovation. Also, our dentist who has experience in the home improvement industry told us she does good work. Susan, Jillian, and Allie were quick to reply to our email and chat with us over the phone to get a sense of what we like. They met us at our home and had immediate ideas on how to improve the look and feel. We were quite overwhelmed, but they helped guide us and over the course of about one year we stayed in the loop and gave them feedback during the entire home renovation process. Be sure to communicate to them if you like the design or would like to see alternatives and feel free to brainstorm with them or point out things that concern you. The vendors (painters, carpet, wood, general contractor, cabinets) they use are high quality. Susan and team are flexible as well. In our case, we ended up changing paint colors when painting the entire interior -- be sure to swatch samples on the wall to make sure you really like the color. Jillian was great in helping us pivot on home colors and keeping the project on schedule. We also did last-minute modifications dealing with custom closets and lighting but they were patient and understanding all throughout. Susan and team have seen it all and thus have broad experience. Other areas they helped us involved new outside railings, new French doors, inside stairway railings, new carpet, fixing the venting above the range hood, fixing/sanding wooden floors, and new ceiling fans. We are so happy with the result -- Susan and team helped make our home truly ours. Thanks again Susan, Jillian, and Allie!

We are completely thrilled with Susan Muschweck Interior Design! Susan, Jillian, & Allie assessed our master bedroom and kitchen needs and went far beyond our expectations. They immediately understood styles we prefer, offered gorgeous design options, completed projects on time, and stayed within our budget. The contractors they recruit are superior. Everyone Susan brought in — carpenters, painters, electricians, plumbers, installers, general contractors, window washers, & a final cleaning team — were highly talented, courteous, careful, & friendly. It was a pleasure having them in our home. Their rapport with Susan, Jillian, & Allie is of mutual respect and understanding. Directions, plans, & communication are clear. We feel like our home is brand new again! It’s a joy to walk into our fresh, bright, revitalized kitchen. With upgraded countertops, new sink, & new island, our repainted kitchen cabinets & old appliances look new as well! In fact, the kitchen cabinets were repainted so beautifully that other contractors have commented on how great they look. Our calm, beautiful, organized bedroom feels like we’re walking into a luxurious hotel at the end of the day. If only there was daily maid service! Susan, Jillian, & Allie have exquisite taste & attention to detail that pulls everything together. Before I met them, I spent months online trying to find new nightstands & a headboard; contriving a way to retrofit a new kitchen sink; considering paint colors; etc. What a waste. I’m glad we decided to hire them before attempting my DIY plans. These talented women know their stuff & make it look effortless. I should have contacted them at the start! We truly could not be happier. Our appreciation for Susan’s professionalism is balanced by a master bath remodel experience in 2019 w/ a woman who claimed to be an interior designer. Not getting everything in writing was definitely my fault. Turns out this person was a glorified house-flipper w/ a short-lived HGTV show, no regard for budget, time, or straightforwardness. She was able to replicate ideas from photos I shared. However, she gave her subcontractors very little support & took them off of our project to finish up her investment homes for closing dates. Our bedroom was taped off & we accessed our bed through a plastic zipper wall for well over 2 months. Lessons learned. In stark contrast, Susan provided detailed quotes, quality options, honest delivery & installation dates, reliable contractors, reputable suppliers, & daily check-ins when contractors were working. We didn’t have to make any calls, pick up materials, rearrange our schedules, or worry about a thing. Susan, Jillian, & Allie graciously extended white glove service from day one until every speck of construction dust was gone. Due to the joy of working with Susan, Jillian, & Allie; the ease of completing projects; & the stunning results of our gorgeous remodeled rooms, we look forward to working with them again!

Susan and her team, specifically Jillian, worked tirelessly through many unforeseen issues to complete our first floor/ kitchen remodel, and the results are amazing! Even though the project was started mid-pandemic we were, thanks to Susan's relationships with suppliers, able to secure all of the appliances and other supplies (flooring, paint, hardware etc.) for the project. The quality of work by the "A Team" was second to none, and if any issues arose, they were addressed to the nth degree. We look forward to moving on with the "fun stuff" of design with Susan's team.

Susan has been my designer for many years and many projects. She uses existing pieces to create an updated look. She designed and completed my favorite kitchen remodel. We built a new home last year. Susan not only assisted with the interior design, she attended every building planning meeting with me. I could not have done it without her.

Susan is excellent at utilizing existing pieces. She gives you options and always has a unique take on your space. Great with color choices. Highly recommend. Third project for me and each has been great and unique with some of the same pieces incorporated.
