After purchasing an existing home in The Villages and deciding on a significant remodel of it, we found ourselves needing interior design help. Not having resources in the area, we searched the web and found Susan Corsten Interiors Being impressed with her resume, we scheduled an initial meeting where we discussed her experience, thoughts, etc., and our ideas for the project. At the time we thought we were looking to hire an interior designer to assist in buying furniture, drapes, paint colors etc. We quickly realized that Susan could help with all aspects of our remodeling project. She brought her full knowledge of local resources, experience, insights and talents to the table. Susan led us through a process where she identified, interviewed and recommended general contractors, AV companies, landscape designers and more. With her help, the people and companies we hired were all excellent. We curated a team of people committed to fresh ideas and thinking outside the local norms. We playfully say we have "De-Villaged" the home. The scope of the project involved gutting a 3,300 sq. ft home as we re-imagined the interior to significantly expand the kitchen/bar area as well as add a powder room. We converted a typical backyard into an outdoor entertainment space which now includes an outdoor shower, new pool/hot tub, outdoor kitchen with a bar, as well as the outdoor living room. Susan assisted in the design and selection of all the interior and exterior finishes. She then went on completely furnish and decorate the entire home. Susan saved us so much time by narrowing selections to 3-5 choices, meeting and coordinating with the builder, suppliers and subs. She professionally navigated through challenging post COVID supply chain issues, worker shortages and managed to streamline the entire process. We worked with Susan for more than a year and could not be happier with the outcome. We are amazed with our "new" home and it couldn’t have happened without Susan’s leadership and management of the project. Top to bottom she focused and delivered on every need. Susan offered the professional help we needed to turn our newly purchased house into our home. She listened to our needs and figured out our tastes. Her suggestions for furniture and picture arrangement helped us reuse treasured pieces, with an eye to purchasing some new items to give everything a fresh look. Her sense of color and texture is excellent. She helped us pick awesome paint, counter, and backsplash that has transformed our kitchen and great room. And at a very reasonable rate!

Having never worked with an interior designer before, I was a bit anxious, but Susan immediately put me at ease. She has a beautiful calm and kind nature and a great sense of humor coupled with amazing talent and professionalism. At our first visit, she sought out our vision, likes and dislikes and budget range. As we worked through the process of redesigning our living, kitchen and dining areas, she offered many ideas/options (at various price points, always being conscious of our budget) and repeatedly encouraged us to tell her if something just didn't work for us, though we rarely did. She helped to choose paint color, which I always find intimidating and difficult and her recommendation was spot on. My husband and I often did not see eye-to-eye on decorating ideas and she was a master at bringing us together on decisions. We now have a beautiful home that we love and brings us joy. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found Susan and thrilled with all that she has helped us to accomplish!

Susan has been my first experience with an interior designer. I wanted someone to help me update my Villa in The Villages. She has been a truly terrific professional, and excellent to work with Susan had decorative "vision " that I was in awe of and she demonstrated immediately her talents as she made some simple changes that made major differences in the comfort and look of my villa and my living space . She had multiple resources that she used that gave me choices with new furniture , art work and decorative items to complete the resulting beautiful setting . These resources were reasonably priced which made my first experience financially comfortable . Susan consultation fees were also reasonable and well worth the amount I was charged . Susan guided me and encouraged me to visit furniture stores and shops as , being a " newbie" , this helped develop my sense of my preferences. Finally, Susan captured my identity in the décor she presented to me . My villa is now comfortable, beautiful , unique. My friends and family have told me I made a good investment as the Villa really looks "sharp" and awesome!
