Atlanta's Collaborative Interior Designer - Best of Houzz 2019-2024!
Where some interior designers look at an empty room and see a blank slate, Sandie sees a hidden narrative. Hers is an all-encompassing vision that takes into account the character of the place, its environment and the personalities that reside there.
After graduating with a major in Architecture from Columbia University as well as a degree in Interior Design from Parsons, Sandie earned her Masters from the Florence Institute of Design International in Florence, Italy. It was there, amongst the rich textiles and architectural landscape that spoke volumes about the countryās history that she gained an appreciation for how design informs the environment and the people who engage with it.
Her experience working for prominent firms such as Christopher Maya Inc broadened her scope as a designer; offering access to a range of projects and a varied take on the traditional home. Her designs take cue from the past while remaining true to the contemporary sensibilities of the client, meshing function and balance with modest embellishments.
Before taking survey of a space, Sandie engages with clients one on one, knowing that every challenge or budgetary constraint presents an opportunity to work creatively within the boundaries.

When my husband and I moved into our dream home in November of 2022 we were so excited to furnish and decorate it and make it our own. Fast forward several months, we realized that we had no idea what we were doing! We then spent weeks researching interior designers and knew we wanted to work with Sandie as soon as we came across her website and perused her highlighted projects.
We had Sandie design our entire living room, guest bedroom and sunroom, and also had her pick out specific pieces for our kitchen, dining room, master bedroom, daughterās bedroom, playroom, powder room, foyer, and upstairs landing. She found furniture pieces and decor for each room that were beautiful, comfortable, functional and unique.
Sandie was always professional and easy to communicate with. She listened to our needs, answered our questions, and followed through on every task. We are so grateful to Sandie for helping to make our house a home. We would recommend her to anyone!

Sandie is a dream to work with! Great listener, detailed oriented, easy to schedule with, and responsive. Above all, she is a talented designer. Sandie helped us transform the myriad of ideas we had for our full scale historic home reno into a cohesive design with several fun, whimsical pops that have made our home both unique and timeless. She was also the diplomatic tiebreaker that my husband and I needed for several reno decisions :). We highly recommend her and hope to work together on future house projects!

We are so happy with our choice to use Sandie for our basement design. She made it look exactly how we were hoping it would turn out. Listened to our style and delivered exactly that. She is incredibly talented and so easy to work with. Sheās efficient, thorough, fair, and kind. I highly suggest using Sandie for any design project.

I worked with Sandie on our house renovation and we had a great experience. I admire the way she runs her business -- she is very organized and a great communicator, she has a good sense about how long things will take her, and she consistently adhered to the timelines we agreed on. And I was so very grateful to have her guiding us in planning and selecting allll the things we had to select. Sandie is a skilled designer and she truly steered us well! I am super happy with the outcomes of our projects. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for projects big and small.

I chose to work with Sandie through her design work in my neighborās home. I really liked what she had done to their place and I reached out to her for help with designing my home.
Sandie was a pleasure to work with. She is organized and professional and she did a great job picking pieces for my home that I would never be able to put together.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our experience with S. Mazzi Interiors. Sandie is terrific to work withāsmart, approachable, and ingenious. After receiving a friendās recommendation regarding her services, we consulted her on a personal home design project. Prior to this, we had contemplated pursuing bigger scale home renovations to address our familyās evolving needs. When we hit roadblocks, we decided to consider other solutions like redesigning existing spaces; with this redirection, we approached Sandie to design a bedroom for our youngest child who was outgrowing his nursery. Sandie did an outstanding and professional job in understanding our needs and challenges and helped lead us to our overall objective of creating a newly designed bedroom space that fit with our style and expectations for our familyās evolving needs. Instead of seeing redesign as a compromise to not pursuing renovations, we feel we tapped into a much better value and finished product than we had previously imagined. Another pleasantly surprising outcome of this experience with S. Mazzi Interiors is that we have decided on our own to re-create the now vacated nursery space in our home back to a proper and much needed home office. We of course immediately looked to Sandie for her expertise in leading our family again on another project. The design is complete, and we are thrilled with the plans. We anticipate full project completion in the next month or so to produce another 5-star review for S. Mazzi Interiors.

Sandie helped us transform a room in our house into a space that is easily one of my favorites. Sandieās thoughtful and detail-oriented process allowed her to customize the selections to meet our needs stylistically without compromising the utility of the space. Before working with Sandie, our kitchen was the most embarrassing feature of the house. Sandie helped us reconceptualize the kitchen to enhance the functionality of the space and introduce colors that brightened up the room and that were cohesive with the rest of the house. Sandie is quite talented as a designer and was just a pleasure to work with. She has a keen eye for color, texture, and space, a ton of common sense, the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve efficiently and effectively, and is prompt, professional, and warm in the way she communicates. Sandie helped furnish most of the rooms in our sizable home north of Atlanta in the midst of a stressful move during the pandemic. In addition, she picked out new floors for our finished basement. She never hesitated to drive all the way up here to oversee projects, and the results were both beautiful and highly functional for our family (we have 3 kids ranging from 8-14 years old). We feel very blessed to have had found Sandie.

Sandie turned our house into a home! Every time we walk into our home and into different rooms, we get a sense of comfort that surrounds us. She has this knack of pulling together a sense of timelessness while balancing our more contemporary and minimalist styles. Most importantly, Sandie takes the time to understand us as people, what makes us unique, and what is important to us. Sandie is the best interior designer we have ever worked with and will absolutely recommend her. We are so thankful that we put our trust in her as she has been an absolute joy!
We hired Sandie to design our entire house, which we gutted and renovated a couple of years ago. We found Sandie on Houzz and really loved her previous work: the overall style, the balance of bold colors, and how she pulled together rooms with art and accessories.
As a client, we remind ourselves to be patient and trust Sandie. The design process can take a long time (especially if you are as budget conscious as us!) from first meeting to when a room or a house is complete. While we are about halfway through our design (which we purposely slowed down because of COVID), Sandie keeps knocking it out of the park. Every room that get completed validates the amazing talent and eye for detail that Sandie brings to our home. As many others have said, our home feels like something out of a catalog and we are so thankful to be able to work with Sandie.

My highest review of any service provider Iāve ever written. Sandie helped us with design for our total home renovation taking a 1960ās grandma ranch into a beautiful and transformed home. I like to consider that I have a decent eye for style and home design elements but she took that to the next level. She captured exactly what we wanted even when we couldnāt exactly articulate what we wanted. She held our hand through every step of this process and I would have been totally lost without her guidance and beautiful taste! She was a designer, therapist and friend throughout the entire process. She is so communicative and helpful and I will definitely use her again in the future. 10 stars!

Sandie is gem and a rare find and will work with her again on any project big or small projects we have up next. She has a great balance of capturing your style, creating a consistent, fresh and unique look throughout the house (color scheme that is on trend yet not too trendy, showing design options, helping us migrate through decisions quickly and while maintaining our budget. Sandie was the first interior designer my husband and I had ever hired or worked with. We bought a big house but didn't know how to make it a home. We are both opinionated and have a hard time agreeing on decor and design.
She did an amazing job of nailing down exactly what we wanted, sometimes when we didn't even know we wanted it! She is professional, punctual, and ever present for all parts of our project. She has thought of things in terms of design that never occurred to us which is exactly why we think she's worth the money and have rehired her to do more of our home.
Our house looks and feels like our home, but it also looks like something out of a catalog which we never would have achieved without her (because of her, I learned my taste is contemporary/eclectic, hah). I'm not sure we were/are the best clients because we doubted her quite a bit but every time we (sometimes reluctantly) chose to go her way, it turned out to be our favorite pieces in our home.
I also have to add, she is very very good at diplomatically staying neutral when she doesn't agree or has to mediate the decisions between my husband and me, which is so important in an interior decorator!

Sandie made mistakes costing us thousands of dollars as our designer. She (1) recommended chairs that were too large, (2) recommended sconces that didnāt account for a sloped ceiling, (3) recommended shelves that couldnāt be installed, and (4) allowed us to order shades that werenāt private even after telling her multiple times that we wanted shades for privacy, and (5) told us that our shades would look one way and once installed, they didnāt look that way at all.
While working on our project, Sandie showed incompetence, poor communication, and lack of attention to detail. I canāt recommend her as a designer.
Update: Sandie wasn't willing to take even partial responsibility for the thousands of dollars we spent on shades that don't do what we told her multiple times that we wanted them to do. After I raised my frustration to her, she didn't engage in resolution and just passed me on to Homepolish (who also wasn't willing to take partial responsibility). Because of this, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in hopes that a third party would help us come to resolution. Sandie never responded to the complaint even after they reached out to her multiple times. Save yourself time, money, and frustration ā don't work with her.

I am sorry you were so unsatisfied with the design process. Unexpected events arise in every project, no matter how well one tries to plan in advance. A big part of being a designer is to problem solve along the way to ensure the quality of the design and the end product. From our last meeting, you were still happy with the outcome of the design having had most of the said issues resolved.
While I take full responsibility for some of the issues, I do want to clarify a few things -
There are some things that are hard to foresee until installation and your lights and brackets were such cases. I have worked diligently to have the problems resolved and you were reimbursed for all costs either by me or the vendors.
For the shades, I had recommended fabrics that would provide privacy, according to your needs. After meeting and reviewing the options, you decided you wanted to go with a completely different style of shades. You had samples sent to you and after looking at the samples in person, picked out the fabric independently. I do not know that specific fabric you picked but I did not question your decision since you know what you wanted and with the samples, you should be able to tell if it offered enough privacy for you. I am sorry the shades are not what you had expected and cost you money, but I cannot be responsible for a decision you made fully on your own.
If you read my email, I did not promise how your shades would look. You had asked about control types and how the shades would be mounted on the door, so I forwarded you an image (sent from trade rep when I inquired about this) that illustrated the way the shade would be mounted and the header size. I gave no indication it would look exactly the same - especially given that your door is different and your shades had different specifications.
Choosing a career that is customer service oriented, client satisfaction is a top priority and is held high on my list. I'm sorry for the unfortunate series of events. From a client perspective, I understand and empathize with your frustrations. I was connected with you through Homepolish and from what I understand, Homepolish was also working diligently to resolve matters with you, but was unable to reach you. I wish we could have parted amicably. I wish you the best with the rest of your project.

Sandie has done an excellent job working with me and my husband. We are difficult clients who cannot agree on anything, and she has done a great job of bridging the gap between our different aesthetics, and helping us create rooms we both love! I found Sandie on Houzz and decided to use her based on both her design aesthetic and her impressive curriculum. She did an excellent job at helping be put my house together... I gave her a limited budget for sourcing new pieces and also had her incorporate my existing furniture and artwork. She was a pleasure to work with- extremely professional and very attuned to my sensibilities. The end results were exactly what I wanted and my home looks beautiful.

Sandie was a joy to work with. She invested the time to get to know me and my preferences. She brought ideas to my project that were innovative, creative, fresh and all within my budget. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome. The way she took my few initial concepts and turned it into a dramatic and functional basement remodel amazes me. She was extremely responsive, kept me updated throughout the entire remodel process and maximized the use of our time. She also even helped me pick out art work that fits my style and taste. We hired Sandie to redecorate our living room. She did a great job and was able to reconcile my wife and my very different styles. Weāre both very happy with the result, which blends our more contemporary and what I would call (perhaps incorrectly) shabby chic tastes. She was easy to work with; very communicative, pleasant, and flexible. She worked within our budget, kept us updated throughout the process, and completed the work in a timely manner.
She went above and beyond, and helped us make decisions only somewhat related to the scope of work for which we hired her. For example, she helped us pick stain color for hardwood floors throughout the house, suggested that we remove some plantation shutters and paint others black, and paint our interior window trim black (made a big difference).
It was a pleasure working with Sandie. We would definitely recommend her and would use her again in a heartbeat.

Run, don't walk, to hire Sandie! Sandie has transformed my condo tremendously. I live in a luxury high rise condo in Atlanta, GA. I have a 2/2, 1400 sq feet and I brought nearly NOTHING with me when I moved in. I was getting ready to finish furnishing it and making it the cozy home of my dreams. Talk about TRANSFORMATION. And I didn't even break the bank! She has an amazing way of tailoring selections and suggestions that will work with any budget.
After taking inventory of my select purchases and studying my space in person, Sandie mapped out a plan and consulted with me on everything from: paint colors, lighting fixtures, furniture and accessory, artwork, and more. She also took a step by step approach at my request to help me manage my budget and also to avoid being overwhelmed by change and too many deliveries!
Sandie is down to earth and adorable, also, super smart, savvy and a true design professional. Not only does she know the "rules" of design, (how big, how high, what shape, what color, texture) she is great to work with: thoughtful, responsive, gives OPTIONS, offers honest advice, did not select items outside my requested budget, and found treasures from a variety of vendors that have done wonders for my home. I even wallpapered (huh? what is wallpaper?) my master bathroom to get a spa look and this small update brings me joy every single morning.
Another example: I have a very-nice-but-hand-me-down-antique-mirror from my childhood home that I wasn't sure would work. Oh- but it DOES! Instead of ruling it out and suggesting I spring for an expensive replacement: she found a way for it to work - with a new piece of art that has a splash of gold that ties in perfectly.
Before I sign off - I should also say that I have 2 sisters in Atlanta, both of them also worked with Sandie. One sister is married in a single family home in the Highlands, the other lives in a cool, industrial loft condo on the Beltline. We all have very different styles and spaces, but Sandie nailed each one of our projects!

We hired Sandie to help us with our new build 5-bed/4.5 bath house that took two years to complete. She helped us from the beginning space planning with the architects, through the long and arduous construction phase, to detailing all the custom built-ins and the final furnishings/ accessories. She was sensitive to our budget, needs and very thoughtful in her designs. There seemed to be a multitude of decisions that needed to be made and Sandie not only took them on with ease, tailoring the design to suit our habits and lifestyle, she had ideas that really took the design to another level (she arched a doorway leading into the dining room where it used to be a straight opening; put a unique slab of stone on the wall in our family room; designed a custom cabinet that expertly hid a column and added storage etc) - we never imagined our home could look so amazing and everything is exactly us!
We also had a lot of existing antique furniture and architectural elements that were treasured family heirlooms we wanted to incorporate into the new, more contemporary home. Most designers we spoke with wanted us to get rid of the furniture and start with a blank slate. Sandie helped us restore the furniture and designed around them, giving each room a contemporary spin that works seamlessly with the antique furniture. We couldn't be happier with how the house came out! We had a lot of naysayers doubt our decision to keep our old furniture, but they're now all impressed after seeing the results! We would happily hire Sandie again to help us with future projects and highly recommend her to anyone about to embark on a renovation or new build project.

Sandie helped design many rooms in my home; the living room, dining, sunroom and kids rooms. I loved working with her so much and I would not hesitate to use her again. I have used a few designers in the past and what made Sandie so good is her easygoing personality, amazing eye for design and quick response time. I had lots of questions throughout the process and wanted to bounce lots of stuff of her and she was so patient with me and always responded so fast.

Run, don't walk, to hire Sandie!
Sandie has transformed my condo tremendously. I live in a luxury high rise condo in Atlanta, GA. I have a 2/2, 1400 sq feet and I brought nearly NOTHING with me when I moved in. I was getting ready to finish furnishing it and making it the cozy home of my dreams. Talk about TRANSFORMATION. And I didn't even break the bank! She has an amazing way of tailoring selections and suggestions that will work with any budget.
After taking inventory of my select purchases and studying my space in person, Sandie mapped out a plan and consulted with me on everything from: paint colors, lighting fixtures, furniture and accessory, artwork, and more. She also took a step by step approach at my request to help me manage my budget and also to avoid being overwhelmed by change and too many deliveries!
Sandie is down to earth and adorable, also, super smart, savvy and a true design professional. Not only does she know the "rules" of design, (how big, how high, what shape, what color, texture) she is great to work with: thoughtful, responsive, gives OPTIONS, offers honest advice, did not select items outside my requested budget, and found treasures from a variety of vendors that have done wonders for my home. I even wallpapered (huh? what is wallpaper?) my master bathroom to get a spa look and this small update brings me joy every single morning.

Sandie turned our house into a home. My husband and I hired her a year after moving from a townhouse into a 4-bedroom family home. We had made progress in acquiring some major pieces, but felt like we had just placed them in the rooms without any idea of where to go next. Sandie was the next step! From our very first meeting, she listened openly to what we were trying to achieve, what our priorities were, and our design aesthetic. Room by room, she guided us through the process of how to turn our vision into a reality and gave us options that blended very specific ideas that we had with her suggestions that turned vague ideas into a "YES! That's exactly what we were looking for!" vision. She has acted as a true collaborative partner throughout the design process - being extremely responsive, creative, encouraging, and worked within our timeline and budget. She is honest about what works, what doesn't, and brings a wealth of design experience and resources into everything she does. Sandie helped me come with ideas to completely gut renovate my bathroom. She was exceptional to work with. I paid for a certain number of design hours and she always used them efficiently, came back with ideas quickly and also suggestions on how to cut costs.

As a furniture company owner, when working with a design studio, I need to know 2 things; 1- That they are trusted by the client to bring to life their vision, and 2- That I can trust them to be a bridge between the client and my company. Sandie helped me design my two bathrooms in my gut renovation. I had a few ideas of tiles I liked, but I didn't know the best way to put them together. Sandie had great ideas and suggestions, making the seemingly overwhelming world of tile much more manageable. We ended up designing two bathrooms I really love! She was always very responsive and prompt, and I the mock ups she provided were very helpful when working with our contractor.
