Patte Lau Interior Stylist

We loved working with Patte! She was very informative and current on design trends. We did our master bath with her and it turned out AMAZING!! Many designers become a little too controlling for us, but Patte made us feel like we were designing a bathroom for US, not her. There were times when we went a little crazy with our ideas, but she was there to reign us back in while not making us feel that our ideas were unappreciated. She was there as much as we needed her, without being too intrusive. We just love her and plan on having her come help us with our Kitchen face lift. We highly recommend Patte for a lovely design experience.

I was moving back to Northwest Indiana from Michigan and needed to work with an interior designer. I found Patte Lau Interior Stylist design services on line, viewed her website and reached out to her. I purchased a 2 bedroom condo and completely gutted it and needed design help with paint colors, kitchen redo, lighting, accent tile, countertops, fresh ideas, etc. Patte and I met and became an instant team working together. She listened to my requests and incorporated them into her design plan. I thought I wanted an all white kitchen with cabinets, island and white subway tile, however she suggested I consider an off white color for the cabinets to soften the space, and a dark expresso painted island for drama and interest. I would have never thought of that on my own, and she single handedly rescued design elements with my project that could have proven costly had I not partnered with her. The snowfall granite countertop we selected tied everything together beautifully! Patte showed me other tile options rather than the usual white subway tile to add more interest to the backsplash, while still keeping a traditional feel I wanted. We discussed accent lighting options and recessed ceiling lighting for the space and how important lighting is to enlarge the rooms, the color (Kelvin) of the lighting, and also have the space function easier. She was a genius at pointing out all color combination do's and don't's. I had already selected a beautiful hardwood laminate flooring, decorative chandelier that we were able to tie all the elements together. Being so far away in Michigan from the project helped with Patte running over to the condo for different items that needed to be checked on. I am finally in the newly redone condo and it turned out wonderful. Thanks Patte for helping me with all the big and little touches and sharing your design knowledge that turned a condo into a home. I would definitely recommend Patte Lau Interior Stylist again! She was every easy to work with, listened to my wishes, when suggesting other options Patte explained why but never pushed me into doing something I did not want to do.

Patty Lau is personable and a pleasure to work with. I felt with her professional guidance and input that she could help to steer my course towards a transitional style of decor. Patte helped in coordinating fabric for chairs, both existing and new, benches and pillows. She researched paint colors and ordered large paint samples. Accompanied me to furniture and lighting stores and adjusted when I found deals ( chandelier) on my own. She has a good eye for accessories and provided many options for me to choose from( lighting, paint colors,, decorating ideas. Patte always ask for feedback as well. I am excited to see it all come together and will keep in touch with Patte on the progress of my rooms.

I needed help defining my decorating style and Patte was so helpful. She is very knowledgeable, creative, and kind. I especially appreciate how she explains "why" her suggestions work for the space. I learned so much!

I have used Patte Lau's talent on quite a few of my home interior projects over the past 7 years. From choosing paint colors, accessories, lighting and furniture pieces to a recent renovation project in my kitchen where she and her husband, Barry, designed and placed a larger kitchen island. This was a very involved project requiring many spatial, design and practical decisions from the ground up. Patte worked on all details required, kept me well informed and involved, made herself available for any questions and concerns, and moved the project along to completion with a professionalism that comes from her lengthy experience in this field. I asked Patte to help me in the early stages of our Living room and kitchen renovation. I knew what I wanted , thanks to ideas in Houzz but she helped put them all together. Picking the right paint color is the hardest but she guided us in picking the paint colors, counter top, back splash and lighting. She was very professional and very easy to talk to.

I couldn't be more excited with my home staging. Patte Lau, Interior stylist, was the best person to work with. My home was lacking the "wow" factor. With Patte's help it is now beautiful and tastefully done. Patte followed my decorating style too. I really appreciated that Patte shopped for the items I needed. I couldn't pull it together myself but Patte did. She also stayed within very tight budget. I couldn't believe how easy it was to work with her and what a great job she did.
