Established in 2006 in Aiken, South Carolina, Nandina Home & Design offers an edited collection of fine home furnishings, accessories, art, and gifts. The team of interior design professionals will help fulfill your individual style for the home you love. Owners Jim and Susan Victor and Sue Shannon launched the home design store with a belief that beautiful design and real life can coexist under one roof. Their “real life, real style” motto, simplifies the philosophy that kids, dogs, parties, and life do happen and no one needs to skimp on glamorous living because of them.
In July 2010, The Nandina team opened a second location serving Atlanta. John Ishmael, who owns and manages the Atlanta shop, joined Nandina Home & Design with over two decades of interior design experience. John also manages the full-service custom workroom providing custom drapery, upholstery and bedding.
The team of professional interior designers is skilled in all aspects of design ranging from simple paint and fabric choices to full-scale construction projects. Whether your style is traditional, eclectic, modern or contemporary, Nandina Home & Design professionals have the expertise to assist you in making your home an expression of you.

I really did enjoy my time working with Jessie LaFalce and Harlie Aldridge decorating my new home in the Atlanta area. After presenting a few ideas they took the ball and rolled with it culminating in a beautiful outcome. I was so pleased not only with their professionalism and creativity but they also made it a fun experience and stress free for me. Jessie even showed up on the day the moving truck arrived to help with placement of my existing furniture . I will never forget that! I love Nandina Home and Design! I have worked with a lot of designers in the past, and never have encountered such a high level of customer-oriented service. The designers’ goal is to provide expertise while ensuring that they understand the client’s personality and taste. I always feel that Jessie and Harlie are making recommendations for design and products that they know my husband and I will be comfortable with. Kate and John from Nandina were terrific to work with on a few recent home decorating projects. They understood my style easily and were able to create looks that fit into my home seamlessly. They also made suggestions that I would not ordinarily think of. I was able to complete the projects in a timely fashion and will use Nandina again without question.

We needed to replace our 15+ year Norwalk living room furniture and wanted to purchase Norwalk again. We went to Nandina not realizing that they offered design services. Kate and John were wonderful to work with. They came to the house, measured, and promptly came up with two versions of how to redo the room. They had great ideas and got me out of my boring comfort zone. They were more than willing to be flexible and consider other patterns, etc. Our room looks bright and inviting but still comfortable. We were so happy that we just worked with them to recover our dining room chairs, which also look wonderful. Thanks so much to Kate and John for their hard work!

I really can't say enough great things about Nandina Home and Design and these two fantastic designers. John Ishmael and Kate Donnelly are the first designers I have successfully worked with who listened to what I wanted to achieve in my home. They were able to take my basic ideas and random pictures and create a beautiful and comfortable living space that is perfect for my home and family, all while respecting my budget in a timely and efficient schedule. This team has a vast and extensive collection of quality resources to deliver any item needed in the home that was dreamed up in the design process, including custom created items.

I was in the process of redoing my master bedroom, bathroom, sitting room and guest room when I realized that I needed professional help. John and Jennings came to my home and met with me and then developed a great plan for furniture, draperies and linens. They were able to pull everything together into a very cohesive, comfortable and beautiful design that I truly love. They were great to work with. I highly recommend them.

John Ishmael and his wonderful team at Nandina were exceptional when working with me in getting custom window treatments made for our nursery.
Everyone from the receptionist to other associates at the store, installers and John, himself were courteous, on-point and willing to listen and respectfully offer opinions if and when asked for.
They affixed the roman shades and cornice over plantation shutters leaving the shutters unharmed and still functional!
the workmanship is superb with attention to detail - clean stitching and lining where necessary.
The best part of all - the order was completed in record time with every effort by John and the team to have them here before the baby arrived!

John and Jennings were fantastic to work with for my living room and dining room update. They really understood what I was looking for, gave me options and worked within my budget. When we relocated from New York City to Atlanta we found ourselves with a big house, and virtually no furniture. John, Jennings and the Nandina team helped transform our empty house into a beautifully decorated home, completing our MBR, living room, dining room, study, guest rooms, children's rooms, and an outdoor room. Beyond furnishings they managed subcontractors for flooring and paint. The process was fun and stress free and the results are fantastic - thoughtful layouts, designer touches but still livable for a family with small children. And all was completed on an aggressive timeline.
