Michael Curulla for Ethan Allen of Canton

There are so many adjectives I can use to describe Michael Curulla...He is truly amazing and feel like he can read my mind when I explain what I would like. He did our den, followed next with dining room and is now completing our living room!!! Everything looks so beautiful and I could not be happier. I had no idea what I was looking for when I walked into Ethan Allen in Canton, CT. I had a home office that I hated, and on the spur of the moment, I pulled into the Ethan Allen parking lot at the end of a Saturday afternoon. When I entered the store, I was greeted by a person who told me that Michael Curulla would soon be out to help me. Michael and I met. He is very soft spoken, quite knowledgable about the store's inventory, and he listened intently to what I didn't like about my present office space. Then, we made an appointment to meet at my home so he could measure the area of the room. Once that was completed, Michael selected some options that he felt would work in the available space, plus coordinate with the design styles already existing in my home. He sent people out to measure, again, to be certain that everything would fit up the stairways and into the room. It all worked out, and I must say that the room Michael designed for me is the nicest room in my home.We made the old office into a guest suite with a small writing desk, and we are now adding window treatments to the suite as well as to my master bedroom. Once that is completed, I want to update my living room and create a new office in my home's lower level. I look forward to working with Michael. He understands me, my taste, and the color palate in which I am most comfortable..

My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Ethan Allen. We had considerable water damage which necessitated completely redoing the family room,,,,painting, carpet and furniture. We worked with Michael Curulla who was fantastic. He made a trip to the house, got an idea of our taste and drew up a plan. He selected styles, colors and fabrics that that were exactly what we wanted. He was prepared and organized for visits and helped with insurance claims. His follow through through was excellent. Michael made what could have been a very frustrating experience a lot of fun I will recommend him very highly and use Michael for any further projects.

Michael has an amazing knack for choosing the right furniture and accessories and helping the client to narrow down the choices. He is a consummate professional, and very patient with my slow pace.

Michael was excellent to work with from the moment we stepped into Ethan Allen! We had just walked in to browse the store and get ideas for furnishing our kitchen breakfast nook (we were looking for a new table and chairs). Michael was just so helpful and knowledgeable, and we found out about the design service. I’m SO happy we took it! Michael came to our house, very professionally took measurements and pictures, and the following day had the best combination of table, bench, and chairs picked out in colors and finished that coordinate with our existing kitchen and complement our home’s style. I’m so happy we found Michael—he has an amazing sense of style and is very easy to work with!!

Michael was a pleasure to work with. He took our blank canvas of a living room and turned it into a warm and inviting space that we instantly enjoyed living in! He listened to what we wanted to create and made appropriate suggestions in regards to fabric patterns and color schemes. He knows how to put together a well dress room! We would highly recommend him.

We have worked with Michael over the past eight or so years on several projects. We began with a very basic family room update and were so happy that we have worked through most of the house room by room over the years. Michael has always been professional, creative, works with our tastes, and works with the existing furniture we want to keep. Early on, Michael assessed a style that worked for us and has done a magnificent job transforming our home to reflect that style. In each case, he has assessed what we have in a room, what we want to keep, and fills in around that with his furniture, window treatments, carpeting, art, etc. In some rooms we replaced everything, while in other rooms he would only recommend very minor replacements. At our request, Michael even been helpful in suggesting paint colors, ceiling fans, and various accessories to work best with the pieces that he provides. Throughout these projects we have trusted his judgment consistently and never been disappointed. We highly value his creative ability, appreciate his customer-focused approach, and look forward to continuing to work with him.
