Reference photos: ‘My forever home at last’ We undertook a large renovation on our 6000 sq foot house and Tina worked with us from planning to installation (about 18 months). We had a good experience with Tina. I would say what sets Tina apart is: - Tina is detail orientated (eg millwork requires very careful measurement/design) and Tina considers the practical application of the design and material. - Knows how to achieve a high end look but stay within budget utilizing her supplier network. - Tina’s billing structure accommodates different sized projects. - Pleasant and professional to work with. Good working relationship with her suppliers. Our scope for Tina included: - new flooring selection throughout - New sconce lighting (family, master ensuite, breakfast and kitchen) and entrance chandelier - New millwork plans and counter tops: kitchen, pantry, family room wall unit, breakfast room, dining room, coffee counter, master bathroom, laundry - Master bathroom (new layout, tiles, sconce lighting) - Tile Grout and paint colours selection. - Wall trim in entrance - Sounding board for my many ideas and questions! Millwork designs were a big part of this project. I had images of what I wanted to achieve and Tina drew these up, and worked patiently with me as we went back and forth on various designs trying to figure out what practically worked best for the space and still give that wow factor (I did change my mind several times!). In order to keep my design fees within budget, and because I knew the look I wanted but clueless about pulling it all together, instead of Tina accompanying me to visit multiple stores to choose materials - Tina recommended where I should go, who to talk to/questions to ask and what I should look for size and colour wise. I then brought back the samples I liked and Tina carefully worked through them looking at them in the space alongside other materials we had chosen. When I was really stuck, Tina met me at the supplier to help make selections. I would use Tina again for sure.

Tina is a talented, creative designer who guided us through an extensive and complicated renovation of our home. Her vision and attention to detail was remarkable – as was her ability to work with the contractor and various trades - and benefitted us greatly in achieving the beautiful outcome that we are enjoying today. I had just moved to Vancouver and wanted some help decorating my new living room that had a challenging layout. My previous furniture was not going to do the trick (too old and too small for the room) so I was basically starting from scratch. It was hard to navigate not knowing my way around, which stores to shop at etc so I called around to various interior designers for help. Most didn’t even return my phone call or respond to forms I submitted on their websites. But Tina immediately answered and was quick to come over to my house the next day to meet for a free consultation. I liked her style from her previous work and had confidence she could make the room look fantastic. She knew of all the right stores and where to get a deal – she was very conscious of my budget which I tremendously appreciated. She offered some great suggestions on the layout and really picked up on the styles that I liked too. She has great taste. She was also conscious that I had young kids so needed to ‘accommodate’ for that! The room is now SO beautiful, warm and cozy – yet stylish – for my young family. What a transformation! It’s just a joy to be in that room – I’ve had many visitors since it’s been put together and every single person has commented on how wonderful the room looks. I highly recommend Tina!

I heard about McCabe Design through a client and I was so happy for the referral. I met with Tina to go over exterior paint for my home and she was lovely. She was professional and so knowledgeable. She covered a variety of paints from dark to light and wanted me to take time to figure out my favourite colour. Choosing paint colour is one of the hardest things and it was so nice to have some direction. We ended up going with a bright white- chantilly lace and black accents. We did a black balcony that wraped around half of the house. I was a little worried that the black would be too much but she reassured me it would look great, and it did! I absolutely love it! She didn’t discredit anything I had thought of, she guided me and recommended ways to improve my design. Tina is very passionate about design, she’s thorough and up to date with the newest trends. There is so much that goes into design and Tina knows it all! I highly recommend her and hope to work with her again!

Tina helped me to realize my dream master bathroom! I hired Tina to assist me in my renovation project of an existing master bathroom. My country house was sadly stuck in the 90s and it desperately needed someone who understood the potential inside to make it shine. When I first met Tina she seemed as excited about my ideas as I was. I truly felt that we were on the same page when it came to the style I was after and so I hired her for my first major project. This is a special house and she got that. Ultimately, she worked my ideas and occasional impulse purchases into the design and the end is a stunning bathroom that fits in line with the character of the home I knew would shine with the right approach. Tina also introduced me to a wonderful contractor who I will definitely use again. This project was a ways away from Tina but she was always available by phone or text whenever any problems or questions arose. As my first big project, I found it to be a lot less scary having someone with Tina's expertise guiding me through. She allowed me to trust my choices and gut as I knew she would somehow make it work!

We purchased an older home in North Vancouver in need of an overhaul and redesign to meet the needs of our family. After being referred to Tina by our builder, we hired McCabe Design to assist us with our whole house renovation which completed in 2016. My wife and I were very pleased that Tina McCabe helped us with the design for a large renovation we did on our West Vancouver home. Tina came into the project about 6 weeks into the renovation, and worked well with our architect under tight deadlines. She suggested changes to the layout, floor plan, and structural requirements that saved us a lot of headache, time, and money, as well as ending beautifully. Tina also helped us with the overall design of and custom millwork for two fireplaces and bathrooms, as well as furnishings. She was able to incorporate both my wife's and my different visions and tastes into the designs. Tina was also able to recommend trades people and work well with the ones we already had. Her attention to detail when giving instructions and measurements to trades people saved us a lot of problems. Tina assisted us in a fairly major renovation project in 2014. Her design input and ideas were invaluable as we gutted/upgraded a kitchen and 2 bathrooms, refinished floors, added moldings and doors and new lighting throughout. Tina helped us create an updated aesthetic for our 65+ year old character home. We wanted to modernize the home but at the same time respect it’s charm and age.
