I am very pleased with Margot's professional service on my recent home decorating, her expert advice on fabrics, colours and accessories was tailored to my tastes. She was excellent to work with and I highly recommend her.

After an extensive home renovation, we required an experienced interior designer to help us complete the project. We asked Margot for help and she was excellent. Margot chose our paint colours and our new furniture and they were perfect. She also chose our window coverings, area rugs, and wall art. Margot also supplied our lamps and decorative accessories for our built-in cabinets. They were all great choices as now our home interior looks like it should be in a magazine. Margot McTavish has worked with me on several projects over the past 7 years in two different residences which included a 2,000 square foot suburbanian home and a 1075 square foot urban condo. In both of my homes Margot provided excellent suggestions about design, products and follow through for decorating, furniture acquisition and working with skilled trades. Her design and working with a custom furniture maker transformed a spare bedroom in a condo to a functional office / den/ guest bedroom which continues to get compliments from guests. From start to finish, Margot managed the project with professionalism and kept me abreast of the progress. Most recently, Margot helped transform my living space in the condo. I love the fact that she listens to my likes and dislikes and offers several suggestions but in the end I am so pleased that I have gone with her suggestions in terms of colours, fabric choices, selection of pieces and design concepts. We moved from a 4 bedroom home to a 2 bedroom condo with about 3 months before we actually moved in. I was completely overwhelmed and didn't know where to start. I went on the Internet looking for interior designers and chose Margot because I felt a warmth and over all good feeling about her. She was wonderful to work with. We had to completely redo our condo - kitchen, 2 bathrooms, 2 bedrooms, foyer and living and dining areas. Her sense of style, design ideas, and overall knowledge for all aspects of the project was amazing. We wanted modern contemporary which required new furnishings and accessories and she made the journey interesting, fun and enjoyable. People enter our home and smile and continuously comment on how lovely it is. Margot is my genie in a bottle. I highly recommend her.

Our challenge was to reenergize and refresh a Nursing Home in Toronto that was badly stuck in the '80s. Margot helped us select a color palette, make furniture choices, rehang our existing art and plan for both immediate and longer term design needs. Choosing an aesthetic that would make our residents feel at home - despite some necessary institutional components - was very important. Our nursing home is comprised of a stately mansion built in the 1860s, as well as a newer addition along the back. Margot chose to retain the existing mansion's design features including original Anaglypta wallpaper from England and highlight the gorgeous sculpted ceilings. She artfully chose an array of paint colors that would enhance the historic details of the Home. The overall goal was to restore the Home's prior elegance while modernizing its look. Margot paid great attention to detail and lighting during the design process. She readily worked with our suppliers (paint, etc.), answered all of our questions both during and after the project, and gave us options that would fit our budget. She also utilized research into color choices for people with dementia which was important to us. She was highly professional in all of her dealings and we would not hesitate to recommend her. Her advice was solid, her follow through exemplary.
