Mabel Fox Design

I approached Katie (Mabel Fox Design) to provide a colour scheme for our newly expanded and remodelled 4 bedroom house. She very quickly understood our preferences and provided detailed mood boards for all areas of the house including kitchen, bathrooms, study and all bedrooms. We were delighted with her vision for our house and all her suggestions. We felt that Katie listened and suggested colours that we loved; at the same time gave us courage to explore bolder choices in key areas that we would never had picked by ourselves. We received many compliments on her choice of tiles for our bathroom. By going through Katie, we benefited from her trade discounts. Although not in the brief, Katie also gave us recommendations of possible accessories and lighting that will work with the schemes. Katie was friendly and approachable thoughout the project, giving sage advice whenever we were uncertain. We were very glad to have her guidance!

Katie at Mabel Fox came up with a plan and design for our recent kitchen conversion, which involved removing a wall and chimney breast to turn two rooms into one. We loved her initial design concept and use of space, and we pretty-much followed her 'mood board' to the letter as we loved it so much. We are absolutely delighted with the result – dark grey units, raw wood floors, and splashes of copper everywhere. We'd have never come up with the design in 100 years, so are delighted to have taken Katie's advice. Most impressed!

We didn't know where to begin with redecorating our new and lovely but tired house, and we were amazed by Katie's ability to visualise how colour could transform our space. We particularly liked how she was able to generate a colour pallete that would work seamlessly throughout the house as a whole space, so that all the room colours worked in harmony with one another as you walk through the house rather than jarring as they might if you only considered each room separately. We spent lots of time discussing this and trying out various combinations, I never felt rushed and Katie was careful to think about and incorporate our personal taste and lifestyle as well as giving professional advice. We decided to go for neutrals in the hallways and colour in the rooms, and we are extremely happy with the result!

We chose to work with Katie at Mabel Fox Design because of her relaxed and friendly approach. We wanted to update our lounge space but never seemed to have enough time to plan the project, even less to choose paint colours and accessories to suit the look we wanted to achieve. We would absolutely recommend working with Mabel Fox Design, the service is brilliant, from first meeting to receiving the lovely mood board ideas (great for visualising the look) to styling the room when it's finished. HIGHLY RECOMMEND MABEL FOX DESIGN for your interior design requirements no matter how big or small your project! I hired MFD for a huge house renovation project: from paint colours for each room and overall scheme, furniture to fulfill the chosen finish I was going for, right through to kitchen choice, design, and layout. I was looking for a 'Skandi style home' with 'chalet chic' lounge and modern kitchen, and was overwhelmed by the concept of the whole project - BUT - Katie came to my rescue and helped make the whole experience an enjoyable challenge that we worked on together. She's very 'diplomatic' when it comes to creating an environment that all the family want to enjoy; if you have a partner who doesn't quite understand the finished appearance, she created the mood boards and helped my other half (who can't visualise what it was going to look like as well as myself!) to enjoy the process - which is understandably stressful at times spending money on a house! We had an 'eighties monstrosity' to convert into a welcoming, modern, family home, and I believe that with the help from MFD; we did it!! COLOURS - This is particularly Katie's speciality - I am amazed at how tuned into colours she is! I thought choosing paint was going to be easy, but getting it wrong can be so costly and will look awful unless it's exactly the right shade, which I learnt the hard way, then ended up paying for her to help choose with me. Colour is very personal, but if it's not quite right, it will 'haunt' you until you paint over it!! We paid for her services for various rooms in my previous house and then this current project - and the colours she chose are divine! We've had so many positive comments from friends about the 'feel' of our lounge and bedrooms after she'd worked her Mabel Fox magic on them!! I was so pleased and felt very proud of my home. Katie has a fantastic eye for colour and a gift for seeing space differently. Her advice on designing the kitchen in our new build extension was priceless. From her experience of working with both Farrow & Ball and high-end bespoke kitchen companies means she really knows her stuff. Katie effectively managed the overall vision for and functionality of the space as well as sourcing brilliant finishing touches that completed the look in a way I could never have achieved - saving me both time and money!!
