Interior Design has been my passion for well over a decade. For the last several years I have been working in kitchen and bath design, which has been an exciting direction to take my career. I enjoy the puzzle solving needed for those challenging spaces and the ability to be creative with mixing textures and color through materials. It is important to make a home look amazing, but it has to reflect my client's taste and what they like in order for them to feel at home. This requires getting to know my client's, working with pieces they have, incorporating new pieces; finding a balance.
I graduated with my Bachelor's degree from Bellevue college a few years ago, but my work extends well before getting a formal education in the field. I believe that it is my vast background and diversity in the scope of work that I do, that sets me apart from many designers.
I am logical and creative, analytical and artistic, I am a merging of opposing thought processes. I thrive on seeking knowledge and am a natural problem solver. Designing spaces is about figuring out how to make them function as well as how to make them beautiful. Both aspects drive and inspire me equally.
I have a hands on approach to designing, learning various skills over the years, which have given me a unique perspective as a Designer. My endeavors have included tiling, millwork installation, dry walling, furniture construction, specialty painting, plumbing, deck building and even demolition. Discovering how things are constructed and knowing about the craft give me an appreciation for all aspects of the design process.
