Where do we begin?! Peg designed our front walkway and stairway from the house down to the street, as well as custom railing, retaining walls and lighting. She kept the style and charm of our Arts and Crafts home always in her vision, giving it a bit of an edge in her final design. Peg also designed our backyard patio, retaining walls, lighting, three-car carport and custom decorative fence, adding in landscaping as well. Wow! Both projects turned out beautifully and beyond our wildest dreams. We love what you did for us, Peg! We cannot tell you how many times people have stopped us at the front or back of our house asking who the designer was, commenting that they never saw a stairway or a carport or a decorative fence like that before. We had a terrific experience working with Peggy. She helped us with space planning, interior design, furniture design and construction and furniture selection including materials. We own a town home and, after planing the major living area space with Peggy, she helped us select furniture and fabrics for the main pieces. And, when our search for end tables, coffee table, and stereo cabinet proved in vain, she designed furniture for our space and had it built in CA and shipped to Raleigh. Five years later and we still love the look and receive many compliments on the space.

Peg has worked on house renovations for us for over 10 years now. These have included projects in the UK, South Africa and America. She has great knowledge of all areas of our renovations including bathrooms, kitchens, furniture (for which she has designed and then worked with a furniture maker to produce). She also has designed our movie rooms. She has great attention to detail and our houses have included some amazing features such as beam design and skylights. Her attention to detail includes lighting and design of doors and windows plus outside decks. She has always kept to deadlines and budgets that we have set. I can thoroughly recommend her.

Relationship : Client/ Developer Project date: multiple projects from 2010-2014 Project price: you need to fill this one in I have worked with Peg on a number of commercial and residential projects in Los Angeles. I used her for everything from developing and refining floor plans to kitchen and bathroom designs that included the layouts of the spaces to all of selections of materials and unique tile designs in my multi residential projects. She as well helped me with developing the look of the exterior of the buildings with expert color and material selections. I used her to design my large commercial properties as well designing the color schemes for the facades with various other touches to make them more urban and hip to attract my target tenants. Peg also helped me with residential spec properties as well from developing a new contemporary house for a property in detail for submission to the building department for approvals. Her talent is multi faceted so much more than just an interior designer. She is very proficient in CAD taking the drawings of the various architects and re developing the interiors than showing it in 3D for key areas. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking a creative talent that can work from ground up construction to taking and existing structure and turning it into something you never imagined.

I found Peg Hammerschmidt's sense of style, her vision and focus to be unique, impeccable and brilliant. She formulated a conception of the project very quickly and was a lucid and eager communicator of her ideas. The result was a tasteful masterpiece of what I called 'active understatement'. Her aesthetic is one of perfect color coordination, physical balance and if I may say, spiritual perception presented in active but never overstated or too busy tableaux. I would hire her again and again.

We have finally found a designed who completely understands us, the way we live, and the style we desire. Our kitchen is the one Peg has featured on this site. It is absolutely perfect for us designed expertly to our requests. Since then, Peg has designed an incredible master bedroom/bath/closet suite for us. We are limited on closet space, but Peg designed with utmost detail the best use of the space for us, designing a new closet for the bedroom. She designed all of the bedroom furniture and bathroom cabinets as well. It is beautiful, comfortable and very clean and contemporary. Peg worked beautifully with the contractor who has done numerous projects for us in several homes. They did not have a prior relationship, but no problems. We like high-end things and that is what we received. All within our budget. I will use Peg for future projects and recommend her to everyone! (Photos are of our kitchen/den project.
