Since I was tasked to find professionals for our renovation project, I spent several weeks collecting biographic information on interior designers here on Houzz. Based on our project needs, I used a matrix to rate them, as well as, some extraneous and less objective criteria. Each time, GINGER WOODS out ranked the other 6 professionals that I had selected. GINGER’S knowledge, competence and skill were apparent to us during our very first meeting. I asked my husband what he thought of GINGER as a possible hire and he said, “look no further.” As the overall footprint, square footage and scope of our project progressed GINGER embraced the expanded challenge and continues to guide us. GINGER listens, informs, advises and presents alternative solutions as easily as ordering lunch. GINGER also availed crucial disciplines and professionals to us, that we might have otherwise missed out on. As we continue on this whole-house renovation journey, we are confident that in GINGER WOODS, we have hit the INTERIOR DESIGN JACKPOT. We are excited for what's yet to come.

I have been a client of Ginger's over many years and many projects. Ginger brings to the table two qualities that I consider to be integral to the experience of working with her. The first is that she truly listens to her clients. She is able to sort through the chatter to find what her clients are really asking for, and then she delivers. (Her attention to detail is amazing.) She designed a kitchen for us and everytime I cook in it, I silently thank her. The second quality she has is an acute sense of space and light. We worked with an out of state architect to build a second home. She was part of the planning process, and used her skills to help our living areas flow much better than the original designs. Our architect commented that she made him look better!! Without hesitation, a great choice with whom to work!!!

Ginger Woods helped me tome form a roomy seven bedroom house -- where I had lived for 48 years -- to a smal ltwo bedroom vill in a retirement community, three years after my husband died. She worked closely with me, planning around my life-style/taste, budgeted changing deadlines. First, we went through my house, noting the life-style it represented, and he things that I really cared about. With a mutual understanding established, we were able to move colorably and efficiently through a series of choices: placement plan based on the floor plan of the type of villa that I had selected, fabric choices, new furniture, reupholstering, having a custom piece made. I never felt rushed. In passing, she helped avoid a potential problem; thus my daughter started scanning my large pho0t/slide collection. Whoops! I was offered slightly smaller villa of different configuration with a 3 months move-in date, and --surprisingly -- my house was sold in less than a month. The villa was basically 'gutted.." Ginger provided aesthetic modifications to the design, a redesigned kitchen and office area, advice on lighting, placement of ousts, ordered and advised on the design of built-in bookcases, closet design, etc. etc. Now that I have lived with the results for 10 months, I can say that I am more then happy with the results, and give Ginger woods the high-test recommendation. note. I first contacted Ginger in August 2012; I moved in in mid-October 2014.

Ginger Woods Design consulted with us to determine the best fabric for our newly created dining room chairs. Since they were made by a local furniture makers owned and run by a woman, it seemed appropriate to use fabric designed and handmade locally. Her knowledge of local sources, and willingness to work with us meant that the results were totally successful.

Ms. Woods helped me pick fabrics and window treatments as well as advised me on color selection for wall colors. She and the subcontractors she hired were always prompt, followed through on details and provided great products. I was very happy.

Ginger Woods Design Ginger Woods and I met through a mutual friend at a time when I was in great need of what I was to learn she had to offer me professionally. I was struggling with several different design challenges in my home’s function and aesthetics. My almost one hundred year old Philadelphia stone house was in great need of updating and crying out for change. The color schemes, furniture; keep, reupholster, toss, replace? And the big one, what to do with the old hardly functioning kitchen yet honor the original design of the house? And I love to cook. I had done some of it myself but was at the point where I realized I really needed some guidance. Despite my college art and design degree, a clear direction eluded me. There were too many ways to go. I loved everything. As a result I was immobile. Ginger’s warm supportive and client-sensitive style was the answer. She is skilled in jointly sorting out what the client’s needs and visions actually are. She helps the client bring the best solution to life with a cool, caring eye, a great ability to listen, contemplate and ask very helpful questions. Her rich wealth of ideas and approaches and experience offered guidance that was crucial for us in finding the ultimate solutions that pleased us both. Through working with Ginger Woods and enjoying the process I was able to realize what I ultimately was looking for that had escaped me.

I referred Ginger Woods Designs and Ginger Woods to my clients downsizing from a 2 story home to an apartment. Our clients had worked with designers previously for their other homes, they knew what to look for in a designer. Ginger understood their needs and customized a plan to fit their lifestyle. The project was completed on schedule, which was crucial, the clients had time constraints, on budget, and the clients were thrilled with the final results. I will definitely refer future clients needing Interior Design assistance, to Ginger.

Ginger has a great eye and is a true professional. Most importantly, she listened and really "got into my head." We built a cottage style house for the coast of Maine - so lots of complicated angles and lots of light. Ginger took care of ALL the interior design work and interfaced with the architect, the builder, kitchen cabinetry, hardware, plumbing, lighting and tile suppliers. Ginger also provided options - including many 2D drawings and always on time before phone or face-to-face meetings. This was a big project (5000 sq ft and 22 mo duration) and Ginger made it a delight, from the first meeting through to the final photo-shoot! My home is lovely and extremely comfortable due to Ginger's attention to detail and comprehensive insight into interior design.

Ginger and her staff know their business. They demonstrated throughout our kitchen renovation that they were on top of everything, from the overall design to the smallest detail of materials, timing and scheduling of the contractor, plumber, electrician and painter. When there were unexpected "speed bumps," they were graciously and creatively solved. Ginger, in particular, has the amazing ability to visually create within budget solutions I could hardly imagine, and help mw feel as if I were part of the problem solving process. Working with Ginger Woods Design is a must and a win-win for all.

For the past four years, we have worked with Ginger Woods Design extensively while planning and completing an addition and renovation project at our home. During that time, tasks involved both interior design and decorating selections. Ginger devoted considerable attention to each space’s use and flow, to our family dynamic, and was responsive to the challenges that older houses can present. Custom built-ins, furniture selection with some custom designs, and all phases of drapery, fabric, flooring and lighting choices are just some of the areas that were handled by the firm. Ginger’s design-sense, down-to-earth personality and her respect for client tastes and budget made an overwhelming project seem manageable. Her professionalism and team approach to working with the architect and contractors was valued by everyone involved.

Ginger Woods was my friend before I asked her to do some work for me, so I was not surprised to find that she was professional, prompt, and extremely pleasant. The main project she has done for me is a kitchen remodel, replacing countertops and appliances. I have no photos to show, but I am thrilled with the results! She warned me that there would be days of dust and noise, so I went out of town for a good part of the time. The contractors she hires are top notch and very pleasant in addition to skilled.

Ginger Woods Design was our choice to design The Play Cafe in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. With Ginger's guidance we were able to create a beautiful space for small children to play with their caregivers and have healthy food and great coffee. A talented and knowledgeable designer, Ginger, embraced our vision and helped us every step of the way. In addition to space design, she knows about the various companies who supply the materials needed and provided us with many alternatives. This project took over six months. She is a very good listener and communicator. Ginger was also very well organized and she was on top of everything including anticipating a possible mistake before the solution became too expensive.
