Gary has done an amazing job for us with the interior design of our family home. We have been incredibly reliant on him given that I was Hong Kong based for the duration of the project. Gary excelled at both the creative element, and the project management. His design concept was exactly what we had hoped for and we could not be happier with the end state. Gary’s attention to detail and organised approach made the whole process extremely simple and he was great at keeping us updated and advising of options throughout. His close working collaboration with the building contractors was apparent and key to what was a fantastic outcome. Gary is a true professional who is passionate for design, incredibly diligent, and willing to go above and beyond for his clients.

If you were ever hesitant about engaging an Interior Designer, don’t be. Gary Hamer is a pleasure to work with. He is down to earth, understood the problems I was trying to solve and was incredibly patient. I just didn’t have the skill to create what I needed but thankfully, Gary did. We were contemplating a major renovation to our Queenslander and had met with architects and builders to discuss our vision. When we received their proposals we realised such an undertaking would involve spending hundreds of thousands of dollars. We did not want to over capitalise and realised our house had all the spaces our family needed. We just needed to determine how we used those spaces, and improve our furniture choices and styling. Enter Gary Hamer! Wow! What a transformation! Gary is a stylish, skilful and talented interior designer with an eye for exquisite design and functionality. Initially, Gary walked through the rooms of our house needing improvement and measured the spaces. We spent time talking about the use for each room, and the look and feel we were wishing to create. Gary then presented us with a floor plan for each space, which we immediately loved! We were so impressed at the consideration and thoughtfulness of Gary’s design. He managed to transform difficult spaces into rooms which flowed seamlessly into one another. Gary then took us shopping so he could see the pieces we were drawn to. He supported our likes and dislikes and encouraged us to choose items we loved. Gary presented us with different budget choices based on furniture we liked, always ensuring his suggestions fit perfectly into our rooms. He guided us with flooring, lighting, paint colours, cabinetry, artwork, rugs, furniture and plants. Once all the pieces had arrived he styled each space, and again, we couldn’t believe how all his final touches improved the spaces. Every room is full of beautiful items to admire. Amazing! Thank you Gary! Gary was so professional and fun to work with at every stage of the process. He has excellent communication skills, is in constant contact with his suppliers, and always relays this information to his clients. We are absolutely thrilled with Gary’s transformation of our home. We love every item selected and how every room flows into the other. When family and friends visit they are so complimentary of Gary’s work and keen to ask him for advice also! We could not have undertaken this process without Gary. His excellence in all aspects of interior design and ability to nurture client relationships is outstanding. Gary helped me to furnish and style our home. It was a difficult task given it was not a complete restyle/ refurnish job and I myself am busy and scattered at the best of times. Dealing with interior designers has often left me disappointed, but dealing with Gary is exactly what I'd hoped for. We wanted good quality advice and a classical, timeless look and we got it. Gary kept me focused during the design process on what we were aiming to achieve. This included shopping trips for furniture, which is not always easy, but he made it enjoyable and successful. I was introduced to Gary through my daughter Christina. I was moving into a new apartment on the Gold Coast with no furniture and no idea where to start and was desperate for some help. Gary came to my rescue straight away and came up to speed very quickly with what I wanted to achieve and continues to work tirelessly to achieve the best result for me. Gary provided me with floor plans, furniture options, lighting, flooring options etc. He sourced fabulous furniture very quickly for me which made me very happy. I cannot recommend Gary Hamer Interior Design highly enough. Gary has turned my cold uninteresting kitchen, living, dining, lounge, media and alfresco areas into warm engaging places that people love being in a moving through - trying out one space and then moving into another. Gary is so easy to work with - very collaborative. Gary takes the time to listen and understand what you are trying to achieve. I also really appreciated that the focus was very much on adding to my existing furniture (most of which I really liked) with pieces that would compliment and work well throughout the spaces. What Gary achieved is far beyond what I imagined and was well within my budget. I moved into my home a couple of years ago. Its bigger than my previous homes and a combination of my own furniture and handed down furniture from parents who were downsizing wasn't working for me. I just couldn't get it right in the large open spaces. I was constantly swapping and moving furniture around, buying new bits and pieces (that didn't really work either). So I decided to bite the bullet and engage Gary. Gary had worked with a couple of friends of mine, on their apartment in New Farm and on their new house in Sherwood. They had been super happy with him and were confident that he could help me out. I had been thinking that replacing the tiles with floorboards and a new kitchen would solve my problem with the house but Gary came up with a much more sensible, appealing and cost effective solution. I cannot begin to describe the difference Gary's recommendations have made to my home. He walked into my home and based on my decorating style, colour palette and furniture preference was able to identify what would work well and ensure I got the best out of the spaces. Gary selected artwork that creates cohesion throughout the spaces. We moved furniture around, added a beautiful new coffee table, added rugs and lounge chairs, side tables, paintings. For the six rooms that are all open and lead to each other, he created beautiful interesting spaces that people really enjoy being in. My nieces and nephews have trouble deciding where to go next and previously, they just wanted an ice-block or to watch Harry Potter. My home just didn't engage with them at all. They now love standing around the coffee table drawing, playing the piano and sitting on the floor cushions and pretending to do yoga poses on my ottoman. Because the spaces invite them in and keep them there. Everyone who has seen my home with all its new additions spend time walking around checking it all out before settling in. Everyone just loves it and have been very complimentary and asking me where everything was purchased and do I think it would work in their place. Obviously I tell them to engage Gary! The compliments they give me are really all Gary's. I could not have done this on my own at all. Gary has a great gift for visualising what will work for you and your lifestyle. I consider what Gary and I achieved a much more successful and much more economical solution to the issues I was having with my home and the living spaces than what I was considering on my own.

My husband and I hired Gary Hamer to advise on and manage the interior design of our apartment, which was drab, worn and dated when we purchased it. Gary transformed the space into a beautiful, modern and livable home which we love. He is professional, highly knowledgeable and has many expert contacts in the industry. All work was done to the highest standards, by highly qualified contractors and suppliers under Gary's supervision. I consulted Gary Hamer when we moved to a brand new apartment and wanted to upgrade the general look and some of the furniture, plus fit out a home office. I employed him to help with narrowing down options as I had no time to do it. Gary was very helpful. He understood the kinds of things I was after, giving several options for pieces, and did not try to foist his own taste on us. He was clear about his costs and what was covered in his fee, and he complied with the dates we agreed on. He understood our budget, so we didn't waste time looking at things that were out of our range. He was also very professional and pleasant to deal with. My first time using an interior designer, so was a little daunting. I contacted three, and Gary Hamer was the only one to listen to my thoughts and ideas on what I was trying to achieve, discuss my budget openly, and offer suggestions. He has designed a beautiful apartment home for me, that is wonderful to look at, but more importantly, has comfortable furniture, amazing artworks and refreshed and stylish lighting, which suits and matches my style perfectly. He has intimate knowledge of different furniture stores and styles, he kept to my budget and met all deadlines. Gary has made himself available when I needed him, is always bright and cheery, and I quickly learnt to trust his suggestions and ideas. I am extremely satisfied with the results that Gary has achieved for me.

Gary has been the interior designer for a number of spaces for my husband and me over many years. Gary has helped us with the interior design for an inner city apartment, an office and our home. I can't recommend Gary Hamer highly enough! Gary provided interior design services, including furniture design, for our new home in Clayfield in a thorough and professional way. His work was sympathetic to the design of the house and Gary provided price point options for fabrics and furniture pieces. All suggestions were presented in a hard copy way which allowed me time to think about options and suggestions. Gary's knowledge of design is impressive, he was able to work with our architect and to time lines and he is a lovely person to deal with. Gary also gave me some great help for our get away home in Maleny. He was able to walk through the house and then gave me a list of suggestions for soft furnishing options, furniture, light fittings and more. This very quick and very reasonable priced professional input has improved the look and feel of the house at Maleny incredibly. Gary's work is fabulous and he is a pleasure to deal with!

Gary Hamer refurbished an apartment we had purchased in Brisbane for use by visiting family and staff. He gutted it totally, new floors, lighting, painting, furnishings and accessories. His knowledge of local suppliers was extremely useful in sourcing the best at the best prices. His taste and eye for proportions delivered a beautifully laid out space, pleasing to the eye on arrival. He did a soft-refinish of bathrooms, and they look like new. The layout of the main room is so clever I believe other apartment owners will want to copy it, which includes discrete cupboards housing essential electronics required in a modern home. The bedrooms are furnished with well-proportioned beds and furnishings. He installed a bed (Italian) which folds very discretely into the wall of the lounge room and gives us extra sleeping for two which has proven very useful. I was extremely lucky to have engaged Gary Hamer Interior Design to support and guide me in my decision making process. Gary was always responsive, reliable and innovative with his design recommendations. Moreover he listened to what I was saying. Gary has been working with me for the last few weeks to furnish a new house recently bought in Paddington. He not only has a wonderful eye for style but blends that with an everyday practicality in that he's conscious of the clients situation, goals and budget. So far I'm really happy with everything we've bought and couldn't recommend him highly enough. It's also obvious he enjoys excellent relationships with furnishing/decorating retailers which helps. I contacted Gary after many failed attempts at trying to decorate myself and two quite expensive goes at working with designers in the past (with no result). I was finding it impossible to make decisions on my own and I didn't want to just get the 'cookie cutter' design approach that I had experienced, ie. have a single discussion with the designer and then wait for an expensive proposal to come back without any further discussion. From the outset Gary was willing to work collaboratively with me so that we could talk through ideas together. The end result was better (and less expensive) than I expected. Gary continued to call and visit our place throughout as well to make sure things were perfect and/or reassure us when something would arrive that wasn't quite what we expected. Now that most things are in place we really love our new space. Gary's work and guidance has really changed our lives.

Interior design consultation for my 1 bedroom apartment Included initial styling consultation, creation of a look-book in keeping with my chosen style, personal shopping for furniture, artwork and accessories for the apartment, ongoing liaison with the companies and stores we purchased from, then a final styling appointment for finishing touches. What a fantastic experience it was, and I can't say how much I enjoyed the process of styling my apartment with the help of Gary. I'm extremely house-proud and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for an interior designer.

I selected Gary Hamer's name from those interior designers who showed up on an internet search. I had never previously heard of him. Gary project -managed the total refurbishment of my three bedroom unit and advised and sourced most of the new elements. He liased with the tradesmen and was present to let them in and out of the apartment while I was in Noosa. The majority of the work was completed in three weeks and I was able to return. I was very happy with the final effect - the apartment does not look "over-decorated". Gary was very easy to work with - charming, friendly, attentive and kept me fully informed at all stages of the project.

Gary provided comprehensive 'end to end' advice and support for furnishing of my 2-bedroom apartment. He was flexible (and tireless!) and provided suggestions that were both innovative and complemented my existing pieces, and my budget. Ever responsive, Gary's attention to detail was excellent, and his service covered everything from design and theming through to the perfect accoutrements.

Gary was a breath of fresh air with his ideas and his plans. We'd spoke to architects but they had got bogged down in details. Gary was able to walk in and listen to what we wanted, see how we lived and come up with a plan that suited our needs and that of our family. We were very happy with the service he provided.

Gary helped us re-design and renovate our house after we completely gutted the interior. He helped with everything from the floor plan, colour scheme, cabinetry design and introduced us to some great trades people. Three years later we still get Gary in for advice on furniture and styling and I feel like we are really unlocking the full potential of the space. Gary is excellent to work with, is very flexible with ideas but keeps us on track with the overall direction of the design. I would highly recommend him for any size project.

Gary undertook the redecoration of the living spaces of my home during 2013, advised on the colour scheme for the exterior and provided some of the interior furniture from his collection. The result is outstanding and I am particularly pleased with the external colours chosen and the new furniture and artwork internally. Everything Gary suggested was just what I needed but I could never have come up with the solutions on my own. In addition, let me say that it was an absolute pleasure to work with Gary and I have no hesitation in recommending him to prospective clients.
