A couple years back Jennifer was referred to us by a friend as we were considering a major interior paint job. After our first meet we were ready to move forward with her guidance and suggestions. When we decided it was time to refresh our 25-year-old kitchen, we researched information on local designers and liked what we saw from Fresh Start Interiors. When we met with Jen Lozada, we told her we understood designers prefer large projects and would not be offended if she declined our work. Jen assured us she could help us and it would allow her to schedule the work in between her large projects. We found Jen through Houzz reviews and are so thankful that we did. Our project was a 2+ year in the making (starting in the midst of the COVID Pandemic) of a custom-built home. From design and flow review of the plans through the final details, Jen was there to guide and help us select the right options for our home. This was an all-encompassing bulid from Roof/shingles/decking and patio to wall colors, furniture/rugs, window treatments, etc. You name it we needed help with it. To say she was invaluable is an understatement. Jennifer transformed our outdated and not very comfortable living room into space that we can enjoy with friends and family. The new room is beautiful, functional, and also casual. We have play space and storage for grandchildren and space for adults to sit comfortably and talk. Jennifer was mindful of cost and how we used (and wanted to use) the space. Jennifer has been helping be this past year with several projects. The biggest was selecting cabinets for den and bedroom. Jennifer helped select cabinet makers and monitored the job from start to finish - she has amazing attention to every detail (many things I would have missed). Now we are working on finding throw pillow and artwork. I know I would never have gotten through these projects without her help.

Jen helped me with my primary suite addition in East Falmouth. Her design style was just what I needed. I was all over the board with how I wanted my new space to look. She took the time to go over my options, send me Pinterest boards, met me at various shops and came to my home for many in home consolations. We are so happy with the way the space came out!! We selected Jennifer as our interior designer for a major addition and complete remodel of our existing home. We couldn't be happier with the results. She was involved in every step of the project including building design decisions, paint and furniture selections and placement, and everything in between. Jennifer was always available, even on short notice to provide selections and input, always mindful of the furnishings we were keeping, our overall budget, and personal aesthetic. I first consulted with Jennifer, who came highly recommended by a friend with whom she had worked, about five years ago when we were deciding whether to do a small or large-scale renovation of our home. Jennifer helped us think through this major decision, and identify and interview several architects, builders and kitchen designers. We ultimately decided to do a large-scale renovation of our entire home and Jennifer was extremely helpful throughout the process on a range of consultations, from discussing design ideas to helping pick exterior and interior paint colors to helping pick lighting and hardware fixtures throughout the house. Now that the actual renovation is finished, Jennifer has been invaluable in helping select furnishings, rugs and other items for various rooms and spaces throughout our basically "new" home. Jennifer has great taste herself, but also is very attuned to our tastes and preferences. I really could not have done all of this by myself -- Jennifer has taught me so much about the renovation process, picking experts, design, color and a whole range of things that don't come naturally to me! When my husband and I decided to remodel our kitchen, which also includes a walk-in pantry and informal dining and tv sitting areas, we turned to a local cabinet maker who recommended the interior design services of Jennifer Lozada, principal of Fresh Start Interiors. Not having worked with an Interior Designer for our previous renovations, we weren’t certain what to expect. I can say without reservation it was the best decision we ever made. To organize and help narrow choices, I really liked the Inspiration Board and Pinterest Page she developed on which we both could pin and discuss ideas (very helpful for us visual learners). Major house renovations are serious undertakings, so hiring Fresh Start Interiors was a wise and successful investment. Jennifer capably led us in new and different directions that resulted in what we were seeking -- a fresh, updated and coordinated look to be enjoyed for years to come.

We met Jennifer to discuss a “refresh” of our kitchen. Jennifer was excellent at listening to our needs and guiding us to a vision of what that might mean. Jennifer set up a Pinterest board where we could all pin ideas of what we liked in order to guide selections. After getting initial estimates and looking at the space a little more, we decided to go for a much bigger remodel. Even though we’ve lived on the Cape longer, Jennifer introduced us to wonderful vendors for each piece of the project: appliances, counters, electric, cabinets, tile. She was always available to answer questions and to follow up with a vendor. Her taste is impeccable and we’ve been thrilled with every suggestion. We are heading towards the end of this project and will happily call her again for any future ones.

After following Jennifer's Instagram for a few years, I knew I would call on her when I was ready for my kitchen remodel because I loved everything she did for other clients. I am so lost on these types of projects because I get overwhelmed by the infinite choices when starting from scratch. Jennifer looked at my house, a 1929 Tudor, and asked my about my thoughts on color scheme, and guided me from there with patience and understanding for my occasional lack of decisiveness. My kitchen is now about a week away from completion, and as the construction drop cloths and floor coverings come off, I am more and more thrilled with the final result. It's well beyond anything I would have come up with on my own. I could never have pulled things together on my own and have it end up so beautiful and unique and totally fitting with my old house while still having modern kitchen elements. Every professional she pulled in, the cabinet designer, tile store, and more were also wonderful to work with. Finally, she is very fair in her fees.

Jennifer stepped in during the construction phase of my new vacation home. Building from the ground up was overwhelming and I brought Jennifer in to assist with furniture location and paint selections. She was quick to respond , friendly and put together a professional furniture lay out and paint schedule for each of my rooms. Her suggestions were right on target and saved me from making some of the those final decisions. I really appreciated Jennifer's time working with me both via email and coming on site. We recently worked with Jennifer for interior design consultation in connection with a redesign of our dining room. After many years of having what we call the "typical" dining room with the table & chairs in the center of the room we decided (based on our lifestyle) we wanted a much more functional room. We were looking for advice on a "corner nook" table we saw and coveted on-line. We were uncertain as whether this piece would actually work in the available space and to do this we would have had to narrow the existing opening between our living room and dining room. Before contacting Jennifer we literally obsessed for hours over whether this was a good idea. We found Jennifer extremely easy to work with and she offered a choice of services that fit our interest and at a very reasonable price. Jennifer effectively steered us into the right direction, the "corner nook" table wasn't a good idea for our space. She helped us design a layout and choose furniture that both meets our wish list of functionality of the dining room and optimizes our available space. We are very content with these accomplishments and happy with the direction our dining room is taking. Currently we are working with Jennifer again to figure out wall paint and a rug for the room. I can’t say enough good things about working with Jennifer! This was my first time doing any remodeling and I was a bit overwhelmed with all the details involved in taking a room down to bare bones and recreating it. In a confident, extremely competent, non-pushy manner, Jennifer shared her expertise while drawing out my own style preferences. I am doing an update of my kitchen and Jennifer made herself available to me on a limited consultation basis. But the value of the consult was priceless! I am very happy to recommend Jennifer on Houzz, because Houzz is how I found her! About 6 months ago, my husband and I started the exciting journey of getting a house built. The thought of a totally customized house was daunting enough. Combine that with 2 kids and full time jobs, we knew we needed help. I researched on Houzz for reviews, pictures and location and narrowed it down to 3 interior designers. After having initial conversations, we picked Jennifer and I am so glad we did! She spent many hours understanding our family, our taste in general, colors, our lifestyle and what we felt comfortable with. She says we are "Transitional", which still means very little to me but she is always right in knowing what we would like. Jennifer helped us all along from picking cabinets, hardware, tiles and countertops to paint and wood stain colors. She has great understanding of what things go together and look nice and remembers the tiniest of details to make sure everything in the house flows well. Jennifer has steered us away from many rookie design mistakes and is always detailed in explaining her choices, which makes it easy for less creative people like me. I am happy to give Jennifer five stars. Working with her has actually made our home makeover a fun project rather than the nightmare of indecision I usually experience when making design choices all by myself. She has a good sense for our taste and all her suggestions have worked well with our style and existing furnishings. We've worked together on our kitchen facelift as well as removing wallpaper and painting all our downstairs rooms. Immediately after her first visit, she followed up promptly with a budget estimate worksheet and recommendations for contractors we could choose. She is very responsive to any requests and always calls back quickly. I couldn't be more pleased with how the kitchen has turned out. We have spent under $20,000 for new appliances, countertop, sink and faucet, tile backsplash, hardware, lighting and cabinet refinishing and it looks great! The colors she suggested for our walls in multiple rooms are lovely. And she has recommended excellent and affordable contractors and arranged for their initial visits so that the whole project has proceeded quickly and within our budget. Jennifer has been an absolute great help from the early building stages of our new house, i.e. choosing materials for flooring, tiles and counter tops, to helping shape the overall aesthetic of each room. It has been a delight to work with Jennifer on things I have wanted to do and felt I was too busy to do. We were lucky to meet Jennifer in February of 2018 when we needed major help with our first floor renovation. She was able to connect us with a great cabinet person and that was just the beginning! She did a lot of project management for our kitchen with counter tops, appliances, and finishes including tile (4 different ones to choose), paint and stain colors, furniture and window treatments and even shopping for the right baskets for our new built-in cubbies in the mudroom. She has great relationships with tradesmen in the area which proved helpful in finishing certain elements of the design. She is organized, dependable, has a great sense of color, design and style and considered our budget in every decision. Jen was wonderful to work with! Based on her expert advice, my husband and I were able to take optimal advantage of limited space in our beach house kitchen. We hired Jennifer for help consulting on paint colors and in addition to that help she ended up saving us a lot of heartache when she was able to (nicely) point out that the backsplash we were about to install actually didn't entirely go with the countertops. I used Jennifer to help me conceptualize a small to medium sized remodeling project at my home. Relative to the range of services she provides to her other clients, I think her involvement for me was smaller in scale -- some basic consultation on space planning and some decorating ideas. Nevertheless, Jennifer was flexible, super responsive, and attentive -- helping me achieve some important goals as I got started on my project. Jennifer designed our living room and the outcome far exceeded my expectations. She provided several options for each element of the living room after getting a sense of our taste. I had never hired a designer before and was nervous about the price and process. I worried mostly I'd be forced or heavily persuaded into purchasing things I didn't really love. But, our experience with Jennifer couldn't have digressed more from my fears. I absolutely love the furniture, accents and rug we've purchased - and better yet, the overall design and impression is exactly what I wanted. I also found Jennifer's pricing structure extremely reasonable and we were always in complete control of how much we spent. Now, I'm always thrilled to have people walk into our house with a cozy, inviting and classy living room that although professionally designed, exudes my own personal taste. We hired Jennifer Lozada of Fresh Start interiors to guide us through the multitude of design decisions that go along with a home renovation project. In our case we were putting in a new kitchen including taking down a wall between kitchen and dining room, replacing flooring, lighting, finishes, doors and windows as well as finishing a basement room and renovating the mudroom. As a very busy real estate broker, I am exposed to the very best in home finishes so I needed to work with someone who would be able to make great decisions in terms of style, streamline the choices and keep us on budget. Most importantly I needed a person who could simplify the process and put together a comprehensive design that would work for our family. Jennifer was all of that and so much more. She has amazing sense of style, space, color and overall design. She is an incredibly skilled designer but also wonderfully organized and always 3 steps ahead so that each choice harmonizes with the last. Jennifer made our choices easy and worked tirelessly to find just what we needed whether it be just the right tile for a back splash, shades for our windows, the perfect furnishings or baskets for our mud room. She worked well with our contractor and all of his subs. Bringing Jennifer onto the job was the best choice we made. It really made all the difference in creating our beautiful home.

Fresh Start Interiors helped me select all the finishing products to my newly renovated bathroom. From selection of the tile, paint colors, granite, and vanity, down to the blinds and artwork. All these selections were reflective of my modern taste, though it was Fresh Start Interiors that helped bring that out. We couldn't be happier with this bathroom as its beautiful, functional room that was done on a budget.

Our dutch colonial home was very charming when we bought it but all the walls were white - lacking personality - and the kitchen needed some updating. Jennifer helped us with a cohesive color palette for all the rooms which brought life to them and the colors worked beautifully with our existing furniture. As for the kitchen, big changes weren't in our budget but the oak cabinets felt dated. Jennifer suggested ways to get the most bang for our buck with paint and limited purchases. We painted walls a soft green, painted the cabinets white, changed hardware and hinges, splurged on new granite countertops and appliances, and a new light fixture. The results were very dramatic and we love the results. We couldn't have done it without Jennifer's guidance!

Jennifer has a great eye and was easy to work with on my busy schedule. Because of this I've actually hired her to help me get settled after three different moves. She helped me place my furniture and decide what pieces I needed to buy, sell or put in storage given the new spaces. I've used her to hang artwork, decoratively organize my bookcases, and order custom window shades. We've also gone furniture shopping together and outfitted a guest room with new bedding. Jennifer has even done online shopping for me - providing me with choices that I could then order on my own. One of these online suggestions was a chandelier that turned out to be perfect for my needs and nearly identical to a very expensive one I had admired at in a design studio. I definitely recommend her if you need help with design details - especially if you're overwhelmed when trying to unpack and organize a new home.
