Classic Interior Design With A Twist

Donna White Interior Design assists clients in Auckland with their innovative, personalised and bespoke interior design projects. Led by Donna, the team have been finalists for many awards, including the Designers’ Institute of New Zealand’s (DINZ) Award for Best Design in 2023, and 2020, and the New Zealand House & Garden Interior of the Year 2019 in two categories. Donna White Interior Design has also been a finalist in Dulux's International Colour Awards is both Residential and Commercial Categories. Donna is one of very few New Zealanders to have graduated from the world-renown Inchbald School of Architectural Interior Design located in Chelsea, London. She works with a deep understanding for the principles and elements of good design and takes it upon herself to educate clients on the importance of form meeting function. This influenced her specialist style - classic interior design with a twist! By staying on top of trends, products and innovative ideas, she is able to bring personality to a room through colour, style and a keen eye for detail. Donna has gained valuable experience working in England and Europe before assisting clients in New Zealand, and they often tell her that her ability to ask the right questions to truly understand their vision is one of the reasons they love working with her. Above all, Donna cares deeply about her clients’ wants and needs for their space and is able to translate their wish lists into designs that perfectly encompass the individual. At the same time, she revives spaces to transcend trends - made possible by a trusting and transparent relationship with her clients. i first came across donna on the internet i was looking for some one with a different set of eyes to look at my lounge which i was hoeing to redecorate,donna came round to look at the job but more importantly she actually listened to what i was saying.although donna has vast experience i was always treated as an equal and a partner which i found extremely refreshing.the job has gone extremely well,yes i have brought some new stuff but what surprise me was how donna was able to use a lot objecte from around the house in a different way saving me a lot of money so we could expand the job to encompass the outside.lastly i would like to say i found donna white to be a true profession and a really nice person.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Donna soon after moving into my mid 70's home and I couldn't be happier with the result. Her exceptional design skills, sense of style paired with her friendly and approachable manner meant that the entire process was a delight. Donna's wicked sense of humour also made it a fun experience. Donna used her vast knowledge of design principles to help me to work out what I wanted to achieve (as I didn't know where to start!) As I wanted to do a lot of the work myself, Donna was patient enough for me to be able to do this. Donna has a large list of industry contacts and suppliers which opened up a whole new world of possibilities that you get when working with an interior designer with her design experience. When people walk into my home now, they tell me how much it has transformed, and I put this down to working with Donna along the way.

When we started our 3 bedroom 2 bathroom waterfront home renovation project, we were looking for an Interior Designer who was a skilled listerner with solid industry knowledge and experience, with an unpretentious realistic attitude and would be a confident partner, to take us on our journey. We wanted someone who was prepared to challenge us on our suggested ideas, if they didnt work aesthetically and be prepared to adopt our idiosyncratic ideas if they did work. We sought someone who could at all times steer us in the right direction with calm assurance. We also specifically wanted to work to budget using existing items of furniture, art etc, where possible. We found all this in Donna, plus the added bonus that her time management was impecable throughout and her follow through with suppliers was detailed and proactive. We enjoyed working with her and valued her good sense of humour. We learned a great deal from her and we therefore consider ourselves lucky to have found Donna and recommend her to anyone looking for an Interior Designer with these skills, for any similar project.

Finding the right person who is going to leave an impact on the ambiance of your home, the comfort of what you sit on and the durability of the products you select when undertaking a renovation is pretty tough long . And then there is having someone to trust as they help navigate the tough partner moments when opinions and wishes differ. Donna has and continues to be a good partner for us through all of this, pushing us when we need it, giving the overall feel and direction along with idea generation while being generous with contacts and partners who add value to our project. Tolerant of our mucking around, prodding when needed, helping us unblock constraints and accepting of us having a different view (yes that's the red rug Donna), our home has benefited from Donna's input which becomes our joint legacy to improving what we started with and leaving things better than we found it when the time comes to move on. Oh and a fantastic place to live. The journey goes on and we are excited to see the last bit of our collective vision come to life early next year. We have no hesitation in suggesting you invite Donna into your circle of trust. Donna has particular magic in taking what you already have and placing it in a manner that lifts the whole room. I have never seen any designer do it as well. This saves a lot of money too.

We purchased our home in St Heliers in early November 2019 and considered three interior designers. Donna White impressed both my wife and myself from the outset with her professional but warm demeanour - so often we find interior designers can be 'precious'. At short notice Donna sorted our colour scheme for walls including stunning wallpaper in various areas, curtains, blinds and flooring. She sourced dramatic feature lighting and has given our home a 'wow' factor. Donna has a vast network of suppliers and arranged generous discounts from them too. We are now in the final stages, with artwork, bedding etc. We would happily recommend Donna and we would certainly use her again.

I love colour and so does Donna. Who would have thought that Turquoise, Lime Green, Shocking pink black and white would work? OMG it does. I love coming home when the days are grey and feel like I have walked into sunshine, it always makes me smile. Whoever enters my home say WOW. Donna has created layers and different textures for the soft furnishings and wall coverings. I am definitely a collector, which was a wonderful challenge for Donna. She has an eye for arranging furniture and Artwork and was always surprising me as I wouldn't be thinking outside the square. I hope she never retires as this young lady is top of her field.
