Tanya Collins is the designer and life force behind Creative Designs. With over 20 years experience in making homes beautiful, Tanya has seen styles come and go and understands the importance of a timeless approach to design. She first opened Creative Designs in Arizona in 1997, but by 2009 Tanya’s California-roots were calling to her and she returned home and established herself as one the South Bay’s premier interior designers. Since then she has designed spaces that are beyond her clients’ imagination in every aspect from comfort and function, to beauty, all while reflecting their personal style. In 2016, Tanya answered the growing demand to expand her services and opened the doors of Creative Designs retail shop in Redondo Beach, California.
If you know Tanya, you’ve realized she’s a whole lot of passion in a tiny package, and Creative Designs’ new retail shop is just the same: a little shop filled with inspiring items, plus full design-services for anything from window treatments to custom home furnishings and decor. Customers can drop in, get inspired, purchase décor items, or set up design services to have Tanya bring her talent to them.
What makes Tanya unique in her approach to design is that instead of pushing one style, she works closely with her clients to understand their vision, even when they can’t quite articulate it. Whether the style is contemporary, French-country, “beachy,” rustic, or something else entirely, Tanya’s main focus is create a warm and inviting space. She designs by the motto that good design isn’t about the individual pieces, as much as the overall feeling a room gives you when you walk into it. This passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere has been the driving force behind Creative Designs.
From budgets large or small; one-room “updates” to large-scale projects that start with a blank canvas, Tanya helps guide her clients through color selection, materials selection, space planning, furniture layout, and all other aspects of design. The final step, where it all comes together, is when Tanya comes and “accessorizes” your space. Using new elements as well as your existing décor, Tanya stages everything so that you see it in a new light, giving it that finishing touch where your house becomes a home.
