My husband, Kevin, and I have had the opportunity to work with Chelsea and her team on a few home projects, including our complete kitchen renovation. Chelsea’s keen eye for form and function ensures that every space is not only beautiful, but also tailored to how you live and work in the space. Her experience across a variety of styles and time periods enables her to seamlessly blend new and old in a way that gives any space an elevated sense of style. I had lived in my house (a 1950s ranch) for nearly a decade when I contacted Chelsea. The main bath was mostly original, and the kitchen was well over 30 years old. Both needed to be gutted. In addition, the flooring need to be reworked throughout, and there were some other tweaks that needed to be addressed. I had contacted a couple of other companies, but they were only willing to do the bath and kitchen. Chelsea Design Co was perfect for the job. Her comprehensive approach addressed my lengthy wish list that touched many other rooms. I had dreamed of all the ways I wanted my home to better function and flow for my family of 4, and I had even envisioned the details. The problem was I had no idea how to make that happen. Chelsea truly made the picture I had in my mind come to life. What’s more, she helped me refine my vision and added things I hadn’t even considered. Her expertise and access to vendors were well worth it. I might also add that she was working with my tight budget, and she still made it happen. Chelsea also made the process stress free from start to finish. For example, we had a hiccup getting permits right before starting the renovation to no fault of Chelsea rather the previous homeowner was to blame. When she called to tell me what had happened, she said here’s what’s going on and here’s what we are going to do. She gave me great options, and she quickly made the necessary modifications to get us back on track. The team of contractors she works with and the vendors they use are professional and extremely talented. They pay attention to detail. The lead contractor kept the project moving. I would definitely recommend Chelsea. I am thrilled with the finished project.

Working with Chelsea and her team has been the single best decision I have made for my home. I am not a big client who needed a full reno or someone with unlimited money for new everything, but Chelsea helped me update my entire home with a cohesive vision as if I was a VIP. From helping me narrow down paint colors (why are there so many whites?!) to incorporating much of my existing furniture, Chelsea worked with my ideas and budget constraints. She suggested tradesmen/specialists to do the work with fair prices and quick turnaround times. She made smart choices that pushed my dollar further, and instructed me where to spend the money for the biggest impact. One of the biggest unexpected benefits of working with Chelsea was figuring out how to combine organization and decor. My bookshelves now have purpose, but are gorgeous to look at! The bedroom built-in that was a catch-all for junk is now gorgeously styled and shows off my jewelry. She has helped me edit pieces that were not serving me, and better lay out my spaces to display the art and objects I love. Overall, Chelsea and her team were flexible with my schedule, easy to work with, and were able to understand my hopes and dreams for my space, even when I struggled to describe my style. She certainly increased the value of my home with smart upgrades, but most importantly, she has made my house a better reflection of who I am, a place I am ecstatic to show off to my family and friends.

We are very grateful to Chelsea for her beautiful design work on our master bathroom and bedroom suite transformation! Chelsea thoughtfully and creatively prepared professional design plans, a budget and timeline based on our needs. Working with Chelsea and her phenomenal team are a complete dream come true. Chelsea has an uncanny ability to read and understand her clients’ vision and bring different ideas to life. She helped completely renovate my entire main floor right before the pandemic hit, which turned out to be a huge blessing. We had a lot on our wish list, and she helped prioritize projects while being mindful of our budget and time frame. Chelsea's work is amazing. I gut renovated my entire house and she was able to quickly understand my aesthetic. She used pieces I currently owned and blended them with new pieces. The whole house looks amazing and I couldn't have done it without her!

Chelsea is a most talented designer! Our project was completed about two years ago and it still gives me joy to simply be home. Previously, we had a small bathroom project that took a year to complete and were mostly unsatisfied when it was over. We thought the next time we had a project we would have to hire a designer who could at least draw a picture. Chelsea spent time with my wife and me, asking us questions about our style, which we frankly hadn't given much thought, and had even further difficulty describing. Chelsea pulled it out of us. She narrowed the choices, we made decisions together, and she kept the project moving. Once the materials were ordered, we were without our kitchen for about 6 weeks. (A dream considering how many stories I have heard about projects dragging on, and of couples who had not eaten a meal at home for 6 months.) The father and son general contractors worked every day to meet our Thanksgiving deadline and Chelsea kept on top of the project. Of course, there was project creep and we spent more than we initially thought we would, but Chelsea has a special talent for spending money where it matters yielding the greatest impact. We ended up painting and getting window dressings for the whole house. And what started out as a kitchen project addressed nearly every room in the house, even if in a subtle way with fresh paint or a light fixture. It wasn't a perfect project and there were some little things I wish we had been done differently, but compared to our bathroom project it was perfect. And, given what we spent and the scope of the project, I still regard the project as a tremendous value. I recommend Chelsea Design to anyone; especially to people wanting to upgrade without throwing everything away and starting over. Chelsea is most excellent at her job.

Chelsea excels in collaboration! As the desired aesthetic comes to life, Chelsea enhances the personal touches of the client. This enables the final concept to enhance the wholeness of the home. Chelsea is professional in her communication, taking seriously design concerns and respecting a budget. This is a great way to build trust.

Chelsea Design did a magnificent job renovating the entire first floor of my 1906-era home. Chelsea listened carefully, took the time to understand what I wanted (even though I didn’t articulate my preferences in design language) and made recommendations that were far more creative and functional than I expected. Today my house is a more comfortable and welcoming place than ever, and it feels better to be home. I highly recommend her work. And she’s a delightful person to know.

Chelsea was so wonderful to work with and I couldn't have imagined going through our home remodel without having her! Due to the size of our project (creating an open concept on the main floor with a completely new kitchen, relocating the stairwell to our basement and an entirely new basement), our contractor referred us to Chelsea. Chelsea helped us redecorate our great room and sunroom to complement our kitchen. She did an outstanding job of ensuring the rooms matched our style. We used mostly existing furniture, recovering sofas and chairs as needed, and adding a few new items for a refresh that looks brand new. The rooms are cozy and updated. We love what she did!

Chelsea Smith transformed 2 of our 38 year old original bathrooms into beautiful, comfortable and very serviceable bathrooms. She started by getting to know "our style" and came up with plans that fit our Tudor style house and us. She made the process pretty painless for us to go through. Her installers were honest, talented men and woman that took care of the project under her tutelage. My husband is a DIY kind of guy, but on this project Chelsea Design Company was the way to go! .
