Formerly known as The Window Look, Catherine Boswell Designs is a family-run, full service custom drapery atelier and interior design company. A fixture in the DC area for 30 years, we are now proudly based in Middleburg, Virginia. We believe that interior design is an important investment, and is truly what turns a house into a home. Our team at Catherine Boswell Designs strive to make the design process approachable, and to give our clients a product that they want within their budget and aesthetic. At our Middleburg studio, we carry high-end textile lines from Ralph Lauren, Osborne and Little, Lorca, Nina Campbell, Chelsea Editions, Fabricut, Clarke & Clarke, and Lee Jofa, amongst others. Catherine will be happy to work to design and create whatever your home needs, from a single chair slipcover to luxurious draperies or custom duvet covers. Cathy designed and fabricated beautiful custom drapery for our home. From the design and fabric selection through the installation, she did an excellent job. Her creativity and experience enabled us to make a quick selection of the perfect fabrics. Cathy is extremely competent and capable, and she is delightful to work with. Our 1920s farmhouse was in need of a face lift. We were looking for a decorating update, something a little more sophisticated and elegant, but not losing touch with the house's farmhouse roots. With very vague directions from her clients, Cathy used her incredible eye for design and color to create a look that is sophisticated while being warm, welcoming and livable. She was delightful to work with, and has the ability to help her clients see great alternatives that may be outside their comfort zone!

Cathy has a great sense of color, she knows fabric inside and out and has a wonderful insight into what makes a good design. I worked with her to place an original piece of artwork in a bedroom of one of her clients. The client was thrilled with the selection which could not have been a better match to the colors and fabrics that Cathy chose for the room. Cathy is very sincere and a pleasure to work with.

Cathy has the most wonderful ideas. She can put together the most creative projects. The details she uses to finishing items are unbelievable, very unique. I highly recommend her if you are wanting something that is not "run of the mill". The craftsmanship is outstanding as well.

Cathy, is one of the most talented designers in the Greater Washington DC area. She is extremely creative, has an excellent eye for color and textiles. She creates amazing window treatments, pillows, and custom bedding. I have consulted with her on several design projects in both my Fairfax and Chesapeake Bay homes. She has been invaluable in helping me select just the right furniture and lighting. I have always been more than satisfied with her service and have been able to achieve stunning results.
