In 2004, with a mission to deliver eye-popping residences draped in style and elegance, Juanita Sicurella-Strassfield established Archetype Interiors. She offers a full-service design firm committed to creating the best interior design solutions tailored to her client’s taste, and time frame. A classically trained draftsperson, Juanita is certified through WFCP (Window Fashions Career Professional), utilizing state-of-the-art design programs for window treatments and floor planning. She is also an authorized Hunter Douglas Dealer. Juanita is a "Jane-of-all-trades" when it comes to elegant interior space planning and design. Archetype Interiors proudly serves New York City, as well as Westchester and Fairfield Counties. Locally owned and operated, Archetype takes its long-term commitment to the community seriously and is proud of the professional products and services it provides. I have worked with Juanita on several projects, have seen many of her finished rooms and have been very impressed by her room design results, especially her custom window treatments. They always incorporate functionality and are so fresh, updated and beautiful! Her color choices and furniture selections are also spot on.....a very talented and creative decorator!

I've known Juanita for almost eight years. She's done multiple projects for me in that time period. She's very good at what she does, and can easily adapt her ideas to the type of home, budget and personal style of her clients. I think she especially excels in designing window treatments and using color throughout the home. In my current home, Juanita has: managed major indoor and outdoor renovations, designed window treatments, designed a custom-built entertainment center, selected paint colors, furniture and rugs. When I moved, she helped me decide what furniture to keep and helped me find new homes for the items I didn't want to bring with me. Throughout this process, Juanita has listened to me, modified her designs when necessary and anticipated my wants and needs. The result is a home that I love, that reflects my personal taste and "feels like me". As you can imagine, I highly recommend Juanita for any project you may have!

I contacted Juanita Strassfield for help to decorate a room which was to be my sanctuary, a daily refuge from the pressures of my role as primary caregiver for my wife, who had been seriously incapacitated as the result of a progressive disease. I needed a room which would provide a feeling of serenity and relaxation. The room while airy and spacious offered many decorating challenges. Juanita's expertise and talents soon became evident. She offered many valuable suggestions, was extremely creative, and provided me with samples for the window treatments, which created the atmosphere I was looking for. The choice of color, design, and texture made it only necessary to choose the one I liked the best, since I liked almost all of them. Juanita helped me with window treatments for my house about 3 years ago. Specifically she helped me design drapes for my dining room and family room, and we also chose sheer blinds for the master bedroom. When I moved into my house there were some window treatments already in place and Juanita was flexible working with what we already had and helping us choose what we needed to add. She has a lot of ideas which I found very helpful. It's also helpful to have someone who can come into your home and see the space, the lighting, the furniture, etc and help design the window treatments based on these angles. I am really happy with the products we ultimately chose. I get compliments all the time on how lovely the drapes are in my dining room. They are multi layered with trim and elegant hardware. I also really love the sheer blinds in my bedroom; Something I probably wouldn't have chosen without the right guidance. I would recommend Juanita and Archetype Interiors to friends and would use them again for future projects.

This was my first experience working with an interior designer and I couldn’t be more pleased. From the start, Juanita was professional, prepared and enthusiastic about my design project. The first project that Juanita tackled for me was to design a window treatment for the expansive and drafty windows in my street level condo. Juanita worked diligently to create an attractive solution that afforded me privacy and still let sunlight in. Juanita then undertook a second project for me: to repurpose the beautiful window treatment designed for my condo for use in my new home. Not only did Juanita continue to provide superior service during this second project, she was also able to provide me with cost-saving alternatives while still preserving the overall project design. Plus, I received excellent advice on where to shop for home furnishings, lighting and accessories. Juanita is an extremely talented interior designer and, thanks to her, my beautiful new living space continues to delight me. I highly recommend Juanita and Archetype Interiors.

I hired Juanita from Arch Type interiors nearly five years ago to provide window treatments for my home. From the start Juanita and her staff were friendly knowledgeable and extremely resourceful. Overall I was very pleased with their work and selections offered. Recently I encountered a problem with my blinds and called upon Juanita once again. Honestly I was expecting to hear, Oh sorry your warranty is over or sure we can fix that but it will cost you..... Instead I was pleasantly surprised to hear No problem I will have someone there to take care of it tomorrow. This further confirms the old adage " You get what you pay for" Thank you Juanita for a job well done and for standing behind your product years later .... William Curran
