I believe my work is important. My job is to make you happy and to improve the quality of your life. I work for you and it is my privilege to get to know you and to design your home for you. I want you to be my partner in the design process. I listen to what you tell me and your thoughts and needs are my stimulus for my creative process. I follow the golden rule - and give you advice based on what I would do for me. I will tell you where it is important to spend the money and where and when you can save it. I consider flexibility an important part of being a designer. Flexibility helps with budget guidelines, with material and space constraints, with your biases, and with your problems and concerns. I know that this is a business where mistakes happen, so I work hard to try and prevent mistakes and to solve them when they do come up. I have learned that solving a problem can often lead to superior design - after all, lemonade does come from lemons! I want you to depend on my honesty - even if the truth hurts! (It’s the good and the bad about me!) I believe form follows function. That is, anything can be made to look beautiful, but it must work well in order for it to be characterized as good design. I like a house to “flow.” That is, the colors, the style and the feel of the house is consistent throughout. I will work with you to develop a complete palette which will guide us room by room. Different rooms will emphasize and incorporate their own parts of the palette but they will all work together. I believe good design takes into consideration all parts of the room - the ceiling, the floor, the walls, the windows, the architectural features as well as the furniture and the accessories features as well as the furniture and the accessories.
