Weston Construction is the best! Todd managed our project, a complete remodel of our 1960 ranch home, including a second floor addition, with an abundance of knowledge, organization, and skill. This was our first remodel project, and we would never have survived without Todd’s guidance and reassurance. Todd is extremely responsive and brings creative solutions to the table. He was with us every step of the way; it was a real collaborative effort. One thing that we really appreciated was that Todd was particularly adept at rotating trades to avoid wasted downtime, and he is completely hands on. Todd Buck helped us transform our outdoor space from a builder’s grade deck and tiny aggregate patio to a large, beautifully finished screened porch, grilling deck, and bluestone terrace. His construction crew was deliberate and attentive to detail. Todd was responsive when issues arose and helped us brainstorm best solutions. All major projects take time, and patience is required. Our end result was worth the effort.

Todd and Weston Construction did a great job for an extensive renovation we did on a 1954 home in the Rugby Ave area. The existing home was 1000 sq feet and in need of significant updates. The renovation included an addition of another 1000 square feet. What sold us on Weston was their flexibility once the project is underway (when you need a change, they work with you to modify the plan rather than halting work and burying you in change orders) and because their initial bid also included extensive foundation waterproofing and the addition of drain tile to address some water issues we had the basement. Each subcontractor they used had sound fundamentals and did quality work. Didn't cut corners--laid new foundational support for a front portico and built a very nice back patio. We could not afford to add a basement apartment at that time, but we worked with Weston to get egress windows in place and stubbed out plumbing and electrical. We now have a city-approved accessory unit. What was tired 3BR and 1 bath is now a modern 5BR and 3.5 baths, including the new basement apartment.

We recently had a bad experience with Weston Construction Co. LLC who was contracted to finish our basement. The contractor installed a new basement floor, at significant cost, and then failed to protect it from his workmen, as we had orally agreed to as a condition for installing the floor before construction was complete. As the result, we were unhappy with the floor. We requested that he replace it, but after multiple delays of trying to clean it, he refused to replace it. Additionally, he failed to make changes to a shower design after we coordinated the change with his flooring contractor. If you deal with this contractor, make sure you get everything in writing. We do not recommend this contractor.

If there are two most important qualities to look for in a general contractor, it's experience and honesty. We found both in Todd Buck at Weston Construction. He was a lifesaver and trusted advisor throughout the whole process. He will tell you what he thinks and why, so you don’t have to guess. He chooses his subcontractors carefully, and only works with people he trusts. And with decades of experience, he has worked with just about everyone in the area, so knows who does great work, and who to stay away from. All the people on his crews were skilled craftsmen, and we became friends with many of them. Our project was a whole house renovation for a 100 year old home damaged by fire. He worked through all the issues along the way, preserving the character of the original, which we loved, while bringing everything up to current standards or better. He found creative ways to help us use better quality materials and fix important things that would matter most in the long run, and still got us the over the finish line within budget. We couldn’t be happier with the results.

Todd was a true collaborator, helping to solidify our vision then willingly embracing the project, which included working through the many puzzles our home unveiled all while keeping my family of four living comfortably in our home through the winter. No small feat. Todd did the most thorough estimating job, involving his sub-contractors on-site in developing the proposal. Todd maintained open lines of communication, had a predictable rhythm for project progress / budget updates and billing, and I always knew what work to expect at the house, especially helpful since I work at home.

Todd and Weston Construction did a great job on our addition taking our architect's plans and executing them. His carpenters are some of the best I have ever worked with and were great at figuring out the best way to address any questions in an affordable manner. As a very hands-on homeowner, they were open to my taking on what I could and participating daily in the project. We made quite a few on-the-spot changes that ultimately make for a great final product. I was always aware of where we were on the budget to we could make informed decisions as we went along with no big surprises at the end. We love the new interior and exterior spaces!

We purchased a gorgeous spec home from Weston when we first moved to Virginia. Coming from a NY construction family, it was the only home that met my very high standards. It was a 4,000 sq. ft., quality built smart home. When we left VA for 2 years and returned, we hired Weston to completely renovate a 6,000 sq. ft. home. We never thought we would love the renovated house as much as our prior Weston home but, it is now our favorite. Todd and his crew are knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and very smart in the way they work and select materials. He made us feel as important as family, always listening and responding quickly with good advice. We recommend him highly.

We have complete confidence in Weston's management and workforce to accomplish a major project like our home renovation. All members of the company were involved in the creative processes necessary to complete the renovation. Mr. Todd Buck was the General Contractor for re-doing the kitchen in our home. We were very pleased with the end result and found Mr. Buck a pleasure to deal with. All of his commitments were finished on time with minimal delays. The estimated and final budget was right on target and any exceptions were discussed and agreed upon at the proper time.
