We worked with Sunny Day Homes on our cabin renovation project in Spring of 2020 (late-February to early-June). Our cabin is a modest size, 1090 sq ft, and was built in 1985. Sarah was our PM and led the reno project that consisted of a second full bathroom addition (custom tile shower + toilet + tile floors), refinish and install pine flooring, tile backsplash in kitchen, removal of baseboard heat, install HVAC, seal crawlspace, and removal of popcorn walls and ceilings. Yes, popcorn walls. We were fortunate to have a dedicated PM that provided weekly updates and honest/expert advice throughout the project. We came under budget and the results were stunning! The cabin went from a 1980's musty pad to our rustic getaway in the mountains. We are so pleased with the work and highly recommend Sunny Day Homes. Thank you all!

Sam Zimmerman and his team at Sunny Day Homes Inc. are professional and respectful of the homeowner’s needs and budget. From the start, Sam listened to our ideas and concerns, keeping us fully engaged in decision making. His experience served us well. The team provided our recently purchased 1980s mountain home with the necessary improvements, including deck, 10 large windows, sliding glass doors, flooring, and exterior drainage. These were large tasks, but were addressed completely and with excellent results. We would use Sunny Day Homes Inc. again without hesitation.

The staff at Sunny Day are great!! They responded to our need of an emergancy contractor very quickly and did a great job of drying our house in due to a car running into the side of our house. I would reccomend them highly and would use them again anytime. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable in our time of distress.

Not only will we use them again for anything else we do to our home but if we build again Sunny Day will be our first choice. Sam Zimmerman and Sarah Grady of Sunny Days Homes are a strong team. Together, they helped me conceptualize my project to get the most out of my investment. With Sam's 40 years of experience and Sarahs fresh eyes (and meticulous accounting) the whole project came out perfectly. We remodeled my home from the roof to the floors. Each step was completed by expert professionals who care about the quality of their work. We used the excellent technicians in the roofing, drywall, electric, flooring and plumbing. We put in a new staircase and skylights and bathrooms. We moved doorways and repaired the floors. The results are so natural, people say it looks like it has always been this way. A real compliment!! I can only say, if you want to have excellent communication with your building team, this is the team for you. If you want to have the job turn out exactly how you intended, this is the team for you. They charge fairly for the work they do. Plus, they are nice people and easy to work with.

My husband and I contracted Sam and Sunny Day Homes to renovate an existing kitchen, pantry, bath and add a 2000 square ft. music room. This was no small task and this is what we discovered. One, having people in your home during a renovation could have been very stressful; however, Sam and his crew were incredibly sensitive and responsive to our needs as a family. Two, tearing into an existing structure always brings surprises. Sam was very creative when problem solving and solutions came easily. For example, I would feel like we had "hit a wall", but it seemed Sam was able to provide several realistic options for moving forward. The entire process lasting over a year and at the end, we all celebrated and the finished product was absolutely beautiful and still is. The quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail were just excellent. I highly and enthusiastically recommend Sunny Day Homes, Inc.

Sam and Sunny Day Homes were a pleasure to work with. Easy to talk with, and reach, communicate well and they are highly recommended by us. They not only built our beautiful green home near Boone, but check back with us to make sure things are going well. They have come through with some additions and small add on projects quickly and efficiently. Everyone who comes to our home compliments us on its quality and warmth. What a wonderful firm to work with! My wife and I began our new home construction in November 2016 and are ALMOST finished as of May 2017. We have been very happy with their knowledge or the building process, materials, and best practices. I hired them because of a reputation that Sam has really upheld. He is realistic, efficient, and down to earth. He has a ton of experience with in residential and has solid advice and input. Sarah is his right hand lady and keeps everything organized and on schedule. She has a ton of experience and knowledge to add. We have been very happy with our house and are almost finished with a home that will stand the test of time. The appraisal has proven they built us a home that is greater than the sum of it's parts. Sam Zimmerman is a great person who operates under the highest of principles and integrity. We hired him to build our large deck, and Yurts at our Adventure Park in Boone, NC. High Gravity Adventures. They did a great job and Sam treated us and his crew with great respect. Real please working with him and Sunny Day Homes.

We have used Sunny Day Homes for three projects in our 1950's brick rancher. Two of the projects were quite substantial. In fact we are having a small project completed presently. Our first was in 2002. We have been well satisfied with the quality of the work done. In an old house there always seems to be some unknowns during a project. Sam has been creative and professional in tackling the issue & presenting to us our options. Easy crew to work and communicate with. Invoices accurate and helpful in understanding where your money is going. We have recommended them to friends in the past and will continue to do so.

Sam recently built a beautiful home for us. The quality of his work is immediately apparent....even before you open the front door. He, his assistants, and his subs have been knowledgeable and very professional. This is the fourth home we have built so we knew what we wanted and were quite demanding. Sunny Day Homes delivered a home we are extremely proud to live in as well as show off! We would definitely use Sunny Day Homes again should we ever decide to build another home.

Sam and his team did a fantastic job on our project. If you're seeking a great builder / remodeler, let me explain my situation for you. I had a busted pipe in January of 2017, 7,000 gallons of water destroyed our basement and the first floor. So while dealing with the restoration efforts I was seeking a contractor. Sam was suggested to me by a plumber I was using. My initial impression of Sam and his team was that they were: honest, ethical, timely, professional and very good at partnering and brainstorming the right solution(s). These impressions proved to be true throughout our remodeling. Our remodel was no small task, besides the tall task of remodeling, we transformed our house. The creativeness of Sam and his team allowed us to take our nice house, to an awesome lake house that has a great feel and is now extremely functional. If you have ever remodeled you now one thing, you never know what you'll run into. With that in mind, you need a builder / partner who is positive, willing to problem solve and be creative. Sam and his team always brought these attributes to work each day. We had to tackle a lot of unseen hurdles, but I'd do it again with Sam and his team tomorrow. One last comment, if you see a negative review about Sam, just realize, not all people are good at being positive and working together. Sam and I can talk, debate, disagree (or agree) then we choose a path and move on. If you can't get along with Sam you must have bigger issues that may need addressed ;) Sam and his team are without a doubt a crew I'd have in my fox hole. They finished my large remodeling effort on time, in 3 months, and I'm currently using them to refresh the remaining parts of the house that were not impacted by the water damage. Related to budget, we set one initially and when unplanned events happened we made agreed to adjustments and moved ahead. We both were aware of actual costs and costs remaining through the entire project.
