So you’re thinking of remodeling? Things You Should Consider when Choosing a Contractor You want someone you feel comfortable with since this person will be in your home on a daily basis. You will work very closely with this person all through the renovation process, sometimes through stressful situations. It is SO IMPORTANT that your contractor is a good communicator, a great muli-tasker and problem solver. This is my element. I enjoy the controlled chaos of remodeling. I communicate daily on where we are, what to expect, decisions you need to be making and your customer supplied finishes to purchase to keep the process going. A Remodeling Contractor is Very Different than a Home Builder Many home builders are getting into remodeling now because of the economic market. But, choosing a contractor experienced in dealing with older homes that are not plumb and level is crucial in preventing costly mistakes and lower quality outcomes. Remodeling entails blending old materials with new materials, old codes with new codes, settled and unleveled walls and floors with new construction and converting old floor plans into new, open floor plans. I know the classic 1950's, 1960's homes well and what obstacles they can present while transforming them to open, modern spaces. We can also update your newer homes to upgrade some of the “builder grade” finishes that were in place when you purchased your home. But...I can definitely build you a brand new home if that is your direction. So, take a look at some of my past projects and hopefully you'll consider me when you're ready to start your remodeling project. I have plenty of references for you to call, and I can even take you to some of my past customers and present job sites to let you see my work for yourself.

I am very happy with the results of my basement remodel. Steve, Sherri and his crew are very professional and respectful and honest. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction and even when we had a few delays (like a main water line leak) they worked to correct the damage very quickly. I would not hesitate to hire Steve again for any renovation job I have in the future.

We had an incredibly enjoyable experience with this company and now actually miss their almost daily contact. The project included a demo of half of the master bathroom, putting up new drywall, installing a new freestanding bathtub and a tile shower as well as new light fixtures and large caginet. The master bath turned out beautiful, and we appreciate the changes that incurred to the original plan. Each group of professionals showed up in a timely manner, were very respectful of our property, and performed excellent work. We plan on using them in the future.

Steve, Sherry, and their whole crew were excellent. First time doing a renovation on our home and they set the bar high. They are responsive and do exactly what they say, when they say. Our project was completed on the exact day they had projected, even with permitting delays. When things were not done right, Steve was on his hands and knees doing them himself. He and his team also recommended ways for me to cut project costs, or things that I could do myself. Would definitely recommend Stoeppler Construction and will be using them again in the future.

Sherry, Steve and every member of the team are great to work with! My home needed repairs due to age and rain damage, and I didnt know if it was going to be an easy repair, or a major repair. But, I did alot of research to find a reputable builder who's experience I could trust whatever was uncovered, and am extremely pleased with how everything was repaired. Reasons why Steve, Sherry, and all team members are great to work with: 1. Very detailed quote and process of how the repairs or work will go. I always felt well informed about the process, and always felt open to ask questions. 2. Everyone was always on time, kind and professional. 3. Communication was always thoughtful and current. If there was a change in schedule, it was always communicated as soon as possible, but during reasonable hours. (I had only one reschedule - and it was due to weather). I was never was left wondering what the next steps were - communication was always very clear. 4. Honesty and integrity - My quote was great, the workmanship was great, and everyone followed through on the job as promised. Cant say enough positivity on how much this was appreciated.

Steve and Sherri came with numerous ideas to help design the kitchen that we wanted. The contract was very clear and each item priced accordingly. As the project progressed, there were some delays in the installation of our cabinets due to weather. I was kept informed of the delays, and all expectations were met. There were a few sizing errors that he encountered during installation of cabinets, but these issues were addressed and fixed. Because he is a busy contractor, you need to be proactive about calling him to get some small design details ironed out after the remodel is finished. Nevertheless, he fulfilled his obligation, was on schedule and was accurate with pricing. Most important, our kitchen looks great, and he brought one of Sherri's homemade cheesecakes to christen our new remodel. I really appreciate that when accidents happen, steps are made to correct the mistake rather than start pointing fingers.

We have had two major renovations to our 60's Ranch. The first project was to open the center of the house into one large space and completely remodel the kitchen, completed in 2013. The second was to enlarge and remodel the main bathroom which was completed July, 2018. Both are very contemporary spaces and are exactly what we envisioned. Steve and Sherry worked with us to hone in our budget and developed the plan of what we could attack. We love Steve and Sherry!!!!! They are the absolute best. We used them for a full bathroom remodel and they were so kind, helpful and did great work. We had some underlying water damage that required repair. They made us feel comfortable that we were getting sound construction underneath what turned out to be a beautiful bathroom. Sherry helped me choose materials that were affordable, practical and pretty and Steve was very involved with overseeing his subcontractors. Highly recommend! We will definitely use them as we continue to renovate our older home.

We contacted Steve through a neighborhood newspaper ad. We had a very extensive remodeling planned and wanted someone local. Upon meeting Steve and his wife Sherry, I was very impressed with Steve's knowledge, professionalism, and direct honesty. The project for completely remodeling our kitchen, dinning area, living room, and bath was estimated and laid out in such a way that it was easily understood, even by a novice like me. The project was started on time and finished on time. We stayed close to budget, even though we "splurged" a little on some items. Steve and Sherry were very helpful throughout the whole process, answering questions, offering advice, and even coming up with inovative solutions to problems involved with an older house. Sherry even took my wife to different vendors and helped in the selection of tile, countertops, fixtures, etc. Bottom line is we highly recommend Stoeppler Construction for any type of building needs. Our home is beautiful and the workmanship is solid. Over time, Steve has added a 700+ sqft master addition to our ranch home, gutted and remodeled our kitchen and living areas, added a 16x20 deck and a 3 car carport. Great job and excellent work.

I met Steve at a Porter Paint store and during a casual conversation told him I was wanting to do some additions to my home. He offered to come out look at what we were wanting to do, presented himself very professionally and with a lot of knowledge about what it would take to complete the project we wanted. We hired Steve and over the next several months converter a 20x40 patio into a beautiful sunroom with casement windows and travertine tile floor. He built a large deck and an outdoor kitchen underneath the deck with granite counters stainless appliances (grill, refrigerator, warming drawer) including low voltage lighting in kitchen and on the deck. All the work was quality craftsmanship and completed on schedule. I have acquired a new home and will hire Steve and his wife Sherry to complete the additions I want in the new property. I highly recommend Steve and his company to any one wanting to make quality changes to their home. Steve and Sherry are good people and very easy to work with!!!

We decided to hire Stoeppler Construction because the business owner lived in our neighborhood. We felt that alone would mean he would have an interest in completing the job as requested and also to preserve his own neighborhood. We made a great decision! Steve and his crew were extremely professional. One of my biggest complaints about hiring a general contractor on a big job is that communication can get lost or muddled between the GC and the subcontracted crews who do most of the work. Steve and his foremen handled this splendidly. Each a time we encountered a small change or deviation from the original estimate Steve was able to quickly provide updated costs and estimates in writing. We were expecting a baby around the deadline for the completion of our work. On the day our kitchen was to be complete, the baby was born. Steve and his crew worked diligently to get our house back to a livable condition before the new baby arrived home from the hospital. I would highly recommend Steve Stoeppler and his wonderful crew to handle your next home improvement!
