We are a military family and purchased our first home From shade tree. the home is built well. Their customer service is beyond compare. Angie specificly has always been my go to for so many things related to the home and even Just things people from out of town need. ( like a reliable macanic) Thank you angie, your beyond the best .....always helpful, prompt and reliable! It's nice haveing someone you can count on.

I wasn't really prepared for what we were getting into building our custom "forever home." I am incredibly thankful we went with Shade Tree. Robbie and Angie walked us through every step. We had a reasonably good idea of what we wanted and they gave it to us but certainly added to and improved on it along the way. Like most home builds we had our share of bumps in the road whether it was the bank delays or challenged appraisers, the weather, changing code during the build, multiple blueprint revisions, etc.. and it feels like it all happened they were there to make sure it was right every single time. I'm wirting this review nearly a year after the build and I still love the house and if we are ever to build again, I can't think of having anyone else build it. They are still there standing behind the build in case there are any issues. I'd give more stars if I could.

When my husband and I decided to build a new home we had no idea where to start or what to do. Shade Tree walked us through every step and built us the most amazing house! It truly is the house of our dreams. They build quality homes and take great pride in their job. I always recommend them to anyone that is looking for an exceptional building team! They are amazing!

We have been working with Shade Tree since the early part of 2015 when we hired them to build our custom home. They have been so helpful in listening to all our what sand needs and also making suggestions for things that we had no idea about and therefore making it a nicer "dream home". As with most all new construction it comes with unforeseen issues. Shade Tree has worked quickly and with much creative thought to overcome any obsticle to give us our beautiful home. Any time that we had a question or they saw something that would work better if done differently, it was acted upon. They are so nice to work with and we are so pleased with our choice to have them build our home. My thanks to all of them.

I used Shade Tree Custom Homes to build my home. I loved that i was involved in everything. I was able to make my own design of the house and they put it to paper. I was able to make all my own selections and not be told what 3 options I could pick from like most companies. They truly are A CUSTOM HOME BUILDER. I picked my lights, my paints, my cabinets and counter tops, my faucets, my exposed drain lines, toilet handles, my bath room hardware, flooring, lighting, appliances, along with all the norms like siding, roofing, porch railings, etc. They are very easy to work with and are always available with any question big or small. Its nice when you can enjoy a conversation with your builder at the local food lion when you happen to see them, and they are genuinely happy to see you. Unlike other companies that once they are closed you cant ever get a hold of them ever again. I have contacted Shade Tree 5 years after the fact just to get reference numbers for different projects I was doing and they are always spot on in getting back with me and referring me to who ever I might need. You wont find anyone better at really making your visions come to reality or that has better customer service.

We are so happy with the quality of our new home. The passion, skill and dedication of Shade Tree Custom Homes and all their people is obvious in every aspect of our home. Shade Tree Construction built our house a little over 10 years ago. Robbie worked very closely with me to make sure I got the home I wanted. This was no small task. Unfortunately, the profession I was in at the time put me into contact with many unscrupulous builders and their victims. As a result and, because we had never built before, I was extremely nervous and (hate to admit it now) rather demanding and distrusting. There was no need for this. Robbie was patient and professional. He answered my many questions and was always available to walk me through the process and reassure me. To say he went above and beyond is a major understatement. The punch-out list was short and all items were promptly corrected to my total satisfaction. He kept to the schedule, weather permitting, and used top-of-the-line subcontractors. Plus he worked with pricing and products so that the home was exactly what we had budgeted without any sacrifice of quality. The house is still as solid as it was when he first built it. Others in this custom-home community have had recurring problems with their homes, built by other builders, but we haven't had any other than normal wear and tear -- not even something as small as squeaky stairs. I have recommended Shade Tree Construction to others without hesitation. In my opinion, Robbie is a rare breed of builder. He's honest, genuine, knowledgeable, and all about making his clients happy. He and his crew are the best!

Our names are Bob & Peg Yeagley and I am a retired Mechanical Engineer with 36 years with the federal government as a construction/maintenance supervisor over hundreds of tradesmen on bases all over the world. I was a Construction Contract Specialist over dozens of million dollar government projects here in the Hampton roads area as well as up and down the east coast! Finding a Builder with the right skills set that matched my level of quality control was quit the challenge. Robbie & Angie @ Shade Tree Custom Homes are fantastic at what they do! My wife and I were looking for the perfect wooded lot on the water in Currituck County NC, and had rough drawings of a special needs handicap wheelchair accessible house of our dreams to retire in! Robbie found us the perfect lot, an architect to turn my drawings into blueprints (including the dozens of last minute changes we made), and helped us with the numerous choices and decisions in the final touches with the creation of a custom home. His on site supervisor was as picky about construction and the little things as I am. The quality of the final product exceeded my expectations and has proven itself with the almost zero defects and punch list items upon completion and the years to follow. Even 6-7 years later I can call up Angie and have most anything taken care of or repair/replaced. Shade Tree built a few homes in our development and they stand out as the premiere designs and quality without question. Most homes in this area are built as predetermined spec houses with the design cookie-cut in most of their projects. The time frames they are thrown up in and the poor quality craftsmanship is very apparent and the folks who buy them are surprised how little cooperation or support they get from their builders and come to me for suggestions on how remedy the issues! These other builders may cost slightly less for a home they decided on most issues, design and cost cutting to allow their profit margin, but later when you start having drywall cracks everywhere, HVAC systems that never stop running and spinning the meter, or lots that are horrific and require thousands of dollars and years to make right, they seem to understand the cheaper prices! Robbie and Angie are the right builders if you are looking for a "custom" built home of superior quality. Basically it boils down to the old saying, "you get what you paid for", and on a purchase this big, do you really want the cheapest price and quality? Thanks Shade Tree, you guys have set the bar in my opinion.

They custom built our beautiful home and did an awesome job! They are very detailed in their work and will make sure your home is perfect! They are very professional and great people! They really know their stuff! And are there any time we need them. We would highly recommend Shade Tree!
