After many years as a craftsman with other builders, Larry decided to establish his own company in 1978. He designs and builds custom homes, additions and other remodeling projects. His excellent craftsmanship and unique style give an elusive quality and character to his architecture. Up-front communication with customers, original designs, enduring value and a hands-on approach are his greatest assets. Larry Kehres has been a member of the HBA for 14 years. L.A. Kehres Building & Remodeling has participated in the Parade of Homes for ten years and has won 22 various awards for their homes, including a division sweep in 1998. Larry has also received multiple remodeling awards through the HBA of Berks County. He was featured in Builders Architect magazine along with being honored in the Who's Who Registry for his excellency in design and construction. Brad and his team were awesome to work with! They exceeded our expectations for a basement we didn't think was possible. Having only an entrance to our basement from our garage, Brad and team literally cut a hole in our floor to create a spiral staircase entrance to have a basement family room and finished gym area. Communications and timelines were always on point and we couldn't be happier!

We had Brad remodel our kitchen and sunroom after waiting 15 years to take on this project. They were patient and helpful as we made our selections and assisted in every way possible. The work they did was perfect in every way! They set realistic expectations and finished our project on time. It is more beautiful than I ever imagined.

The organization, communication, quality of work and professionalism was heads and tails above any other contractors that I have dealt with in the past. Absolutely nothing that I requested was too much or frowned upon as I added more and more tasks as the job rolled along. He is a true gentleman who prides himself on delivering first class service and results. I will hire LA Kehres Builders for any and all future projects without hesitation! Five Stars to say the very least!!!!

A father & son team , along with their team of professional builders & installers, we’re a pleasure to deal with. Brad & I communicated about my expectations & he offered suggestions that enabled my new home to be built in such a manner that I wouldn’t change a thing. Both Brad & Larry are professionals that pay attention to every detail from start to finish, to assure that the project is completed to your satisfaction. They are upfront with their pricing so that you know what your project will cost. The price they quote you may seem slightly higher initially, but after working out details, they provide you with a detailed price list before starting a project & you know what your final cost will be. We met with other builders who may quote you a lower base price but then add additional charges. This is not the way Brad operates. He is upfront about everything & you always know the dollar allowances for each part of the project with the only additional cost being your choice of upgrades above the quoted allowances. My husband & I love our new home & would not even consider another builder.

We had a kitchen remodel done by LA Kehres Building. We could not have been more satisfied. My wife and I are both engineers and consider ourselves very particular. We expect all work to be done first class and right the first time. And it definitely was. We were not always in town when the demo and refit was underway and the communication could not have been better. Brad kept us apprised of any questions / decisions that arose and handled all aspects of the project with great attention to detail. The subcontractors that work with and for them do excellent work. Lastly the project was completed within budget, on time and the quality and craftsmanship was outstanding. We highly recommend them and will be doing our next project with them soon.

He listened to us, asked us questions to clarify, and always would listen if we had questions or even wanted to change something. Brad, Brad and Larry from LA Kehres Building converted an unused storage space to an incredible office and conference room at our shop. In taking it from junk storage space that was just bare brick walls, original single pane windows and an oil soaked floor to a real useable space with new energy efficient windows, air conditioning and heat and finished walls, its a little oasis in the chaos of a busy day. Brad and Larry took the time to listen to me and understand my vision of this space. There was never anything that I requested that was met with a 'No'. When we discussed different options for certain aspects of the office, my ideas were generally met with leading questions so that they could take my idea from just an idea to an actual completed element of the space. They were so accommodating and patient in working around our schedule and ideas and I appreciated their candor in explaining the how and why of the completion of my project. We always knew when they were going to work and what they were going to complete in a given day or week. They will be the first company I call when we are ready to do some renovations on our house.

We had our master bath remodeled by LA Kehres this past fall. Finding a contractor who treats your home like their number one priority is not an easy task; we hit the mark with LA Kehres. The professionalism and timeliness of the work crew was exceptional. Their workmanship was of high quality and there was never a time when we didn't trust Larry and his team in our home. Our expectations were met and we will surely be using them for our next project.

Scope of work included removal and discarding of existing roof shingles on main and guest houses, installing new drip edge, ice/water shield and synthetic underlayment and new architectural shingles. Installed new gable and ridge roof vents and removed and discarded existing siding. Installed Low-E house wrap, new siding, sofﬁt and fascia and new protected gutters and conductors. Installed new siding blocks for lights and receptacles and hooded vents for dryer and bath exhausts. The entire process from start to finish was seamless and professional. The work was completed on time and within budget. The level of craftsmanship, thoroughness and cleanliness demonstrated the contractor’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The results certainly speak to the contractor’s experience and technical know how. Highly recommended.

For over 25 years LA Kehres has provided exceptional remodeling services to us. The most current project included replacing dated wood decks and railings on two porches and a large gazebo, with Azek maintenance free porch flooring and vinyl posts and railings. It looks terrific. Attention to detail was outstanding as was the craftsmanship. Larry and Brad Kehres are always anxious to meet and exceed our expectations.

LA Kehres did a remodel of our Kitchen and Master Bath along with building us a second floor balcony complete with an outside shower. They were easy to communicate with and took the time to really understand what we wanted. They made our dreams a reality. LA Kehres takes pride in their work and not only did they do an excellent job on the build but they also cared about the time line and cleanliness. How nice it was to come home in the middle of a build and find it cleaned up each night! I would highly recommend LA Kehres and look forward to working with them again on all our future needs.

We hired LA Kehres Building to remodel 2 bathrooms and a master closet. Larry was friendly, easy to work with and presented us with several designs. Our project had several starts and stops due to our travel plans, Larry was very flexible with his scheduling. His son, Brad and crew, showed up on time and cleaned up after each work day. If they had a problem or a question, they offered solutions and consulted with us before proceeding. The subs they used (painter, plumber tile guys) were all very professional and had the same high quality workmanship as themselves. The rooms are beautiful - we are very happy. Highly recommend - no hesitations!

Over the past 14 years LA Kehres has completed for us a Finished basement including a bar area, bathroom and sound proof home theater. remodeled our kitchen, laundry room and sun porch area, remodeled our master bathroom, replaced our roof, remodeled our dining room, and remodeled two large home offices. Most recently, they rebuilt/repaired internal house damage from a broken sewer line. They are reliable contractors and we trust that their work is always completed with high quality supplies and methods. Brad and his team were wonderful to work with! We had a vision for our basement which Brad was able to bring to life! He was exceptional to work with in regards to floor plan design, budget, selection of finishes, etc. He sent us to excellent suppliers who were extremely knowledgeable and professional. We have used LA Kehres for a few minor projects in our home over the past few years however we chose to use their company for a major kitchen remodel in our home that was built in the early 1900's which we knew would present some challenges.
