I contracted with Details Home Services to install new Hardi Plank siding on my home. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of their work. The new exterior of my home looks great! The workers were reliable, always cleaned up at the end of each work day, and were very detailed orientated. They made sure that I was complete happy before the job was done. Engaged by several other homeowners in my neighborhood the Details Home Services team delivered exceptional work for all of us. We resided our entire house and gutters. For a few months, it was difficult finding professional companies to do exactly what we wanted for our kitchen cabinets. We have a small, but mighty and well-planned kitchen space in our 1985 townhome. I was determined to preserve our solid wood cabinet boxes and update them with espresso-stained solid wood doors. Details Home Services made that happen by bringing a master wood artisan onto the project, Senor Alfaro-Hernandez Victorino. Our kitchen is stunning! Not only is it beautiful, but Details Home Services made certain we got what we wanted from the color to match the wood beam in the living area to the textured glass inlays typically available on high-end cabinetry. I had a variety of projects around the house I needed a skilled general contractor to address. These projects included new stairs, flooring, and recessed lighting as well as dealing with basement water damage, renovation of a half bath and installation of an egress. I received quotes from several companies that ranged dramatically in price and expertise. Most of the companies weren't confident they could do all the work I needed. For instance, a couple companies had no prior experience installing egresses while others doubted if they could replace the cabinetry in the half bath without removing the hardwood floors. Details Home Services was the only company that could readily perform the variety of work I needed and was reasonably priced. Details Home Services even identified some cost saving measures before the work commenced. I appreciated the company's versatility and extensive knowledge. The work was completed on time and looks great.

Though this is a long overdue review, we want to say how thrilled we are with our kitchen remodel. The Details crew, lead by Humberto Vasquez, was everything we hoped for. Because Humberto is an architect, he could offer creative solutions to any unexpected problem (for us, it was inconveniently placed duct work). I wanted built-in cabinets topped by bookcases. I’m extremely pleased with the final results and the built-ins look like fine pieces of furniture. The work was completed in a timely manner and both Cory and Phil were very easy to work with and attentive to my wishes. Like the name of the company says, it’s all in the details!

New deck. I contacted Details home services for an estimate on completely renovating my old deck and I am glad I did. Cory Laws was able to accommodate my budget and Jose and Patrick along with Juan built me a beautiful deck. Doing most jobs in Maryland they were not to familiar with Loudon County code so before even starting they did their homework. Found out exactly what was needed to do it right rather than rushing in and guessing. Deck passed inspection with flying colors and even compliments from the inspector on a great job. This crew was professional, courteous, and did a great job. Juan even took care when he needed to dig up my Rose's and potted them for me till time to put them back in the ground. I contacted Details to renovate my existing bathrooms and add a full bath to the basement after purchasing a design and professionally prepared plan elsewhere. The project presented unique challenges due both to errors in the plans and some nonstandard building issues found behind the walls. For example, there was no consideration given to HVAC vents in the plan. In one bathroom the only vent was being covered by the new cabinet placement and in another, the vent was on a wall slated to become a tiled shower wall. Cory was able to address every issue on the fly with creativity and grace and resolved all problems to my satisfaction. I would hire him again.

Cory, owner of Desmtails Home Services, installed new flooring in my kitchen, I later had him redo my kitchen and now his company is installing my new bathroom. Cory and his team were amazing! They renovated two bathrooms and our basement including the laundry room. The results were exactly what we wanted. Cory and his team updated an upstairs full bathroom, replacing the vanity, toilet, tub, floor, lights, and mirror. They were professional, clean, and efficient. When they discovered the new bathtub had a crack, they quickly returned it to Lowe’s and brought back another one. The finished bathroom is exactly what I pictured and I’m happy with their work.

We saw Cory’s work before we met him; our neighbors had had their basement and kitchen finished with Cory a year or so ago and we could see the quality of work he had done so it was an easy choice for us to hire him. Our neighbors were very happy with the quality of work and service he provided and so are we. We have a small 1940’s bathroom that we wanted remodeled and although ours is a fairly modest home, and we ran into some unexpected problems that ran us slightly over budget and over schedule, we never felt that Cory did not take our concerns seriously and we give him 5 stars. Cory addressed all our concerns promptly as the project evolved, was easily accessible by phone, text and email, and handled our project with great care. He is also very easy to talk to. We are very thankful. A few unexpected problems we encountered that led to scheduling delays were prolonged demolition of our floor due to an extra layer of cement under the floor (no bodies, thank goodness) and the absence of insulation behind our walls. A vanity we had meant to keep got thrown out by mistake but Cory apologized and bought us a replacement of our choice. There were some minor adjustments at the very end—the bath faucet popped off a few times when we tried to use the shower, and some cabinet doors did not quite line up...but Cory came onsite and figured things out and made sure everything was finished to all of our satisfaction. The end result is a beautiful small bathroom that we love... the charm of a postwar traditional bathroom with modern efficiency and clean design...it is my favorite room in the house! We would highly recommend Cory and look forward to working with him again on our future projects.

Cory and his crew did an excellent, painstaking job during challenging times. My home sold mid construction and Cory deftly managed the expectations of realtors, new owners and me. He managed the subs very well and finished the project on time and on budget. This was a large job updating kitchen, baths, windows, and family room. He removed the wall between dining room and kitchen for a modern design and flow and refaced the fireplace with stacked stone.

Cory Laws of Details Home Services was the most professional, conscientious, competent, and honest contractor that I've ever worked with. Cory did multiple projects for me at two of my former homes. When we moved to California two years ago, our daughter said "You might not find someone as good as Cory again!" She was right, we've done some renovations to our home in Huntington Beach and with each project, we found that we really missed working with Cory. He was the BEST.

Cory has a big personality and is a people person which makes the construction process less painful. Although our project took longer than I expected to complete, and scheduling could have been done better. Regardless to say, everyone has flaws and so has Cory, but I still give him a 5 star rating for the following reasons: -He is very reachable and responsive throughout the process. -He offers honest and constructive opinions when we dealt with issues out of original scope in plumbing, electrical and structural, etc. -He cares his workmanship and reputation. During the renovation, incorrect countertops finish was installed. He didn’t defend his mistake and just went ahead to replace the countertops that have been spec-ed out at his cost. Also, he is willing to go out his way to complete the final punch list items. -we have had some hiccups getting service from utilities company and he was able to follow through this long excruciating process. -Lastly, he provides good services as promised in the warranty after the work is completed. We have some minor issues on the dryer and oven after completion and payment already been paid in full. He was able to react within reasonable time to close out the service work orders.

Cory Laws and his team completely renovated our front porch on our Victorian home. He worked with us through the permitting process in Herndon and made sure that we were completely happy with the finished product. My wife and I live in Reston. For anyone in Reston, you know the HOA has very specific guidelines for any modifications to the exterior of the home. Our siding was old and required full replacement. We interviewed several contractors; most of the individuals we spoke with said they were unable to do our siding because it was too much of a custom job. We found Cory Lewis (Details Home Services) from a recommendation by someone in our HOA who previously used him. Cory was very professional and had a great attention to detail (hence the name of his company). His staff were able to remove and replace all of our siding within the exact specification required by our HOA. His crew did a fantastic job! Cory also helped with a few other projects including installing ceiling fans, finishing kitchen cabinets, and installing a tile back splash in our kitchen. Again, Cory's professionalism and willingness to assist with any type of project exceeded our expectations. My wife and I are very happy with the results of the siding and other projects. It was a pleasure working with Cory and we look forward to working with him again in the future.

Details Home Service once again delivers! Cory and his team completed a major renovation for us, on time, on budget and beautifully installed - finished off our garage, installed new hardwood flooring in the entire first floor and new powder room. We always turn to Cory first whenever we have a question or need any work done.

I interviewed six vendors before meeting with Cory for our basement renovation. With the exception of one, the remaining vendors I spoke with did not provide a detailed cost estimate that described the Level of Effort to perform the work. Cory was very professional in helping us with the selection of stone for our fireplace. He made great recommendations that we hadn't thought of, and at all times; he demonstrated a genuine desire to make things right when issues came up. When there were unexpected challenges - and there always are - he kept us informed and addressed the issue. Hiring a basement contractor is somewhat akin to finding a mate, you're going to be working together for better or worse and thru thick & thin. One of the issues I would caution anyone of, is that some of his subcontractors were not always the most professional. There were instances where I had to notify Cory (repeatedly) of trash found in inconspicuous places throughout our basement and outside (i.e. cigarette butts, etc.). To his defense, he did take care of it promptly. Our project lasted 6 months and that was one of very few issues we experienced. Cory also brought in true artists, such as Joe Morgado and Megan Troyer that did an outstanding job with our fireplace and bar. In summary, we found a solid contracting partner in Cory to develop the basement of our dreams. I would strongly recommend Cory for future work.

Love, love, love my new bathroom. It's exactly what I wanted. Cory took the vision I had in my head and made it a beautiful, functional master bath. I couldn't be happier with it. He helped me get the look I wanted with the budget I had and was so easy to work with.

The project was the modernization of a 3rd floor bathroom and separate dressing area. The area reflected 1980s styles and materials (formica countertops etc.). Work started in December 2014 and completed May 2015. Work was delayed first because we left town for the christmas holidays and second, the new mirrored closet doors were delayed for several weeks. Otherwise the work progressed in a timely manner overseen by Cory Laws. His people and subcontractors did a fine job of procuring and installing the required granite countertops, tile work, toilets etc. Fit and finish were excellent. Any discrepancy we noticed and brought to Cory's attention was promptly corrected. Cleanup was completed after each days work. All in all it was a fine experience.

Cory just finished a basement and laundry room remodel for us with custom built cabinetry and bookcases. He was great to work with! He was always available and responsive and the quality of the work is super. He was willing to answer questions in the design phase and very helpful in problem solving as the project went along. We are very happy with our new rooms and would recommend Details Home Services without reservation.

I hired Cory Laws of Details Home Services to make improvements to my home of 22 years before listing it for sale. While I had taken great pride in my home’s appearance during most of those years, I hadn’t kept up with it in the later years. I knew that my home needed significant improvements to get the best sales price, but I wasn’t sure where to begin. I consulted with Cory, who gave me advice about which improvements were necessary and which would give the best return for my dollar. I most respected that Cory directed me away from making some improvements because their costs would not correlate to a higher sales price. Details made significant repairs to my home: They did a complete renovation on two full baths, and a partial renovation on the master bath. They power-washed my home and deck, and they restored my weathered deck with a restoration product that was much less expensive than replacing the damaged wood. They replaced a sliding door to my deck and rails to my fence. They replaced lighting, added a backsplash, and built in a wine frig in my kitchen. They replaced carpet on my second floor, painted my entire home, and repaired my concrete driveway. They even made my garage look like it had never been used. In the end, my home looked new. It sold in five days, after a three-way bidding war, for $6,000 over list price. After my home inspection, I had a list of minor issues that normally would have required that I contact numerous repair companies. But Cory took over my list and coordinated all of the repairs, from my gas fireplace to my radon system to my garage door motor. When last minute issues arose before closing, Cory did what it took to meet my deadline. I give Cory Laws and Details Home Services my highest recommendation. Cory and his team were always very friendly and courteous, and the quality of their work was excellent. In fact, my home buyer was so impressed with what Details did to my home, he wants Details to finish his new basement.

We found Details Home Services through Houzz and the excellent rating we found here and through other local "Best of" lists led us to give them a call. From beginning to end, the experience was top notch. Cory and his team were all extremely professional. They finished a guest room in our basement, added beautiful crown molding to our master bedroom and installed a custom bookcase that truly exceeded my expectations. Each project was completed with attention to detail and care. Any question that arose throughout the project was answered with patience and respect. I had a very tight time frame that I was nervous about meeting, but Cory assured me the project would be done in time and it was. On time and on budget! My final thought is that working with Cory actually made remodeling fun... which is what I always thought it should be but from the horror stories friends have, I never expected it to be! This company was recommended by a friend. To begin with, their estimate was not only lower than two others I got, but it was easier to read. When the inevitable problems arose, they were explained to me clearly, and the slight overage they made in the final bill was also clearly explained. This was a small job, which they fitted in between other larger jobs. The work they did was excellent, and the workmen and the owner were all easy to communicate with. They accommodated my specific requests without question. I will use them again, and would not hesitate to refer others to them.

After years of putting it off, I finally contacted Details Home Services to remodel my wife's kitchen--relocate refrig, new granite counter tops, oven, cook top, bar and lighting. We contacted Details after having a number of horrible experiences with contractors and builders following the construction of our toll brothers home. In fact we found Cory from this Houzz page. From the initial contact with Terra and the first appointment we knew we were going to enjoy working with Cory, once the construction started the experience just got better and better. Cory and team (Will and Mauricio) had incredible attention to detail, worked in a very efficient manner in fact corrected many things the builder had screwed up. Probably the item that stood out most was the high degree of respect the team had for our house and lifestyle during the construction. Something we hadn't seen from contractors who normally expect you to adapt to them. Our project involved installing a fan in the garage, removal of the closet system the builder had installed and replacing with a builtin solution in our master and son's bedroom, installation of new electrical and lighting as well as installing a sauna in our master closet. Communications were excellent throughout the process, we always knew what to expect and when. The project completely exceeded all our expectations and delivered on time and to budget. Probably the best recommendation I can give is we have a number of other house projects (the list keeps growing). I wouldn't consider having anyone else other than Details work on our house.

We had to have a master bath shower renovation that was botched by a different contractor fixed. The bad job had resulted in a major leak in our ceiling. As one can imagine, I was wary of my next hire. Based on these reviews, we hired Cory and his team, and they did an excellent job. They re-did the shower from top to bottom. The craftsmanship was a major improvement over the last job, and I'm happy to report we've had no issues with any more leaks at this point.

My daughter crashed into the wall between my two garages last year. I called Cory and within 24 hours he had an estimate for me. I was worried that the apartment over the garage was going to come crashing down. He had the wall fixed in 48 hours. It cost a fraction of what I expected to pay. He has also done other work around my house: repaired rotten wood, removed and replaced walls, created a new cover for a closet, patched missing drywall etc. He is efficient, timely and responsible. Was so happy with the work Details Home Services did for us over the summer, I didn't even waste time dealing with anyone else when another home project presented itself. Once again, DHS did an excellent job! Even though it was a very small project, they didn't drop me to the bottom of the list (which I've found common with other companies when not a huge project) and made sure my project was scheduled in a timely fashion. We were very pleased with the process and outcome when we used Cory & Details Home Services to finish our basement. Cory and his team were fantastic! Why? Because I didn't hire him for a kitchen or bathroom, but rather for a small project at my office. He treated me like I was a big job though! His team did an impeccable job, was punctual (a rarity in the industry) and made me feel like I was an important mark on the calendar. I eventually asked Cory and his team to remove carpet and install hardwood in three rooms though I did ask him for an estimate on a larger project (taking down walls, relocating wires, removing vinyl and installing tile). All together, the price was right, and his proposal was the most detailed. I ended up just getting hardwood installed, and he was very patient with me, answering phone calls and emails promptly about my concerns. With him, I would call and immediately reach him on his cell phone or get an answer to an email within a day. Once I had signed my contract, this being what I think is a small project, he was ready to get his team working in a couple days but for the fact that I myself wasn't ready. His hardwood people were professional, showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and did a lovely job. I would not hesitate to try Details out for a larger job once I'm ready for the disruption and the $$ for the big jobs I want done. Definitely look into Details for a team that is efficient, professional and responsive.

Creative and professional are two words that come to mind when I think of Details Home Services. They did some major work on our kitchen and finished our basement. My husband and I had ideas of what we wanted but really didn't know exactly what. We left it to Details Home Services to tell us what they thought and they were spot on. The backsplash tile design is gorgeous and we were totally amazed with the custom wine rack that was installed under our island. Our extended half-moon breakfast bar is unlike one I've ever seen. In regards to our finished basement, we just knew we wanted a bathroom and a part that was unfinished for storage. It was suggested to us that the bathroom area we had in mind would have been too big so DHS took part of it and made a great walk in storage closet. That thought had never even crossed our mind. It's the experience of knowing space and how things work together that sets DHS above others. We really appreciated their suggestions and love everything they did. The staff is friendly, responsive, and trustworthy.

The owner (Cory) promptly returned my call, spent a great amount of time listening to what I wanted for my basement, gave me some new ideas, and got a quote to me within days. Details Home Services remodeled our kitchen. This project was a total redo including moving a door, changing the work triangle and creating a mudroom. Details Home Services was wonderful, from design to final detail completion. We had extensive tile work done and it was expertly done. Storage within the kitchen went from minimal to extensive. Work surface went from an unusable island to a very workable "U" shaped work area. Cory completely remodled my kitchen, and has done exterior and interior painting and wood work. He helped my ex rebuild several rooms in her house due to black mold, renovated one of my son's rental houses and has done work for many other friends and clients. Details Home Services remodeled six bathrooms and a vanity area in my and my sister's home at the same time! Five bathrooms and the vanity area were total "pull and replace," but the master bathroom in my home was completely redesigned requiring extensive changes in the plumbing and electrical. The end results were phenominal. The foreman and workmen were experienced professionals and my dog became so attached to them he was depressed when the job was completed! The entire project was done on time and within budget and as you can imagine there was a lot of juggling required to keep moving forward on essentially seven simultaneious projects. Reviewing both Angie's List and HGTV for extimates on what a bathroom remodel should cost, Details Home Services came in right on target. I am currently in the process of receiving an estimate from Details to provide additional services in my home.

I worked with this company at a clients house, work was done well/clean/within budget. I hired this company- I have used them for a verity of jobs, from Handyman/paining/remodel. Would use them again, as always- company is prompt/works within budget/clean/great work.
