We contacted almost two dozen contractors for our bathroom renovation, but they were no match for D & A with their knowledge and skills in construction. We purchased a 1 bedroom apartment that hadn't been touched since the 60's or 70's. Danny came to see the place right away, listened to us attentively, and gave us good insights and recommendations without pressuring us. His quote was not the lowest, but pretty fair, especially the quality they delivered. The scope of work in his proposal was very transparent, concise and straightforward. He wanted to do the right way and not shortcuts like most contractors. He patiently worked with us through our very complicated renovation application process which took an unusually long time. He got us in touch with good suppliers of tiles, fixtures, and kitchen cabinets in the area. His men and subcontractors were very skilled, detail oriented and communicative; they kept all the rules of the apartment such as garbage disposal, work hours and such. We were very impressed and decided to commission additional works including the full kitchen. It is an old apartment, but at every step they came up with the most appropriate solutions. They were able to finish the work on time despite the additional work commissioned to do. We are very happy how everything came out. We would recommend D & A to anyone in confidence.

I'd never bought a home/coop...never thought I would...so everything I knew about contractors were urban legend horror stories. Boy, was I in for a surprise... The first interview was difficult...but Daniel was kind enough to come back and talk me through everything a second time and from that point forward it was like a friend was taking care of me. I know I made some decisions the guys may have found odd...like turning my bathroom back 100 years with old school tile work, but they did their best to make me happy. When I wanted the medicine lowered to a lady height - Johnny had me come over and measured it perfectly using me as the ruler - and love it. When I decided to paint the hall deep green and it came out looking like a St. Paddy's day nightmare - we had a good laugh...and fixed it! I checked the job daily because I was close and Daniel was great about me doing that and even encouraged me so I could make sure things were what I wanted and we could avoid problems...like when I chose some seriously bad paint colors! lol. Anytime I wanted an adjustment, it was done with no fuss at all. I even got to lay a little bathroom floor tile! Daniel and I talked so much through when things couldn't be done and we swapped things out or when I was making really bad decisions and he talked me out of them and helped me find good solid solutions. I'm very happy with the quality of the work and they made my coop a home. Everything that was recommended was done with a consciousness of my budget and my taste. Loving my closets, which we put all new shelving in, my complete bath & kitch reno and my new walls. Did I say, "like a friend?"....nah... a good and reliable friend.

Hi, I used D&A Home Improvement's services for a kitchen renovation and redoing the entire hardwood floors in my apartment earlier this year. When I started my search I spoke with six GCs and out of all of them, Daniel was the most insightful in proposing solutions that worked best for me. His attention to detail was one of the most important reasons, apart from his well matched bid for the job that made me work with Daniel's team. He was very attentive, always available to discuss the project and came with answers on how to resolve any on site issues. He gave me detailed quotes for the full renovation process and also linked me with kitchen manufacturers, tile + cabinet stores and stone sources for me to get what I wanted for my kitchen. Similarly he connected me with floor companies as well from whom I was able to get a great price for the new hardwood floors and the rubber underlayment above the sub flooring. For the overall scope of work, Daniel and his team were able to finish the job one and half week earlier than originally anticipated which is always welcome. His team's work ethic and quality is truly great. It has been a few months already since the job has finished and we have not had a single issue after the work was finished. The team was always on time and cleaned up diligently every day and after the full job was finished. I couldn't have asked for a better GC to get this caliber of work done. My family and I love using our kitchen all the time!

this summer we used D & A for the second time to do our renovation and could not be more pleased. Daniel and his team are detail oriented, on time, and on budget. They do it right. When a plumbing job wasn't up to snuff they came back and fixed for free, when a tile broke due to heat they came back to fix. Our cabinets were miss measured and Daniel's team found a fix that saved us weeks for a replacement. Daniel and his team deliver quality work as well as their vendors. We had a very complicated backsplash install and Daniel and his vendor handled with care and success! We will definitely be using D&A in the future again if we need and recommend over and over. You really won't be let down.

We did full renovation in our entrance, entire kitchen, dining room, closet extension, boiler and laundry room. Daniel and his team handled all the process with professionalism, care, and make our house are safe to use with electric and plumbing. No words can describe how satisfy we are with our dream home! Daniel works very conscientiously, observes all the process. If there is something doesn't look good and not listed in the contract, he would make it nicer without charging. We purchased a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom co-op in Forest Hills that needed a gut-renovation. I had interviewed a few candidates for the project since I had a very specific design in mind and I wanted to make sure the person I hired was knowledgeable and was able to put my vision into reality. D&A Home Improvement came to look at the space while I was still in-contract and came again when we were in the home stretches of our closing and did the estimate for me. He seemed to be the most thorough and engaging out of all the people quoting. We decided on D&A Home Improvement and we couldn't be happier with our decision. We've heard so many stories from our close friends and family of contractors not communicating, botching up the job or just bailing half way through the job. Daniel and his team were the complete opposite of that. Personable, high-quality and perfection are some of the words used to describe this company. He never hesitated and was always willing and eager to help when when we asked him (super thankful and appreciative). With his connections in the business, we were able to some of the items at a fair market value. His foreman, Johnny, was one of the best people we’ve ever worked with. He was alway able to find a solution if there was a problem. Johnny was super detailed and attentive, a real craftsman. For our closets, I had wanted a custom build-out in every room and when I inquired around with other vendors they all came back with a minimum of 3-6 months time frame after the construction was completed to start the build out. With the supply chain/logistics delay, we couldn't wait any longer. We saw what a great job Johnny did with our custom entertainment unit so I asked him if he was able to do the closets too. He completed all 10 custom closets within a month. The whole experience overall was very pleasant and their team was very enjoyable to work with. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that he used to live in our building and he was familiar with our Super and management company. Daniel was helpful, professional, thorough and completely honest. He steered us in the right direction every time, and was very helpful in narrowing our choices down. After years of trying various GC’s to help us fix up our home in need of a facelift, my wife and I can finally say that we have found “our guys,” D&A Home Improvement. Daniel and his crew started in our attic with a complete gut renovation and took our small, unfinished space and transformed it into one of our favorite places to be! The work was challenging and unique to say the least, and by the time the last coat of paint was drying, we were all taking pictures of the space (painters included!). Since then, we have called him back to do our driveway and walkway entrance, and a complete gut renovation of our kitchen and downstairs bathroom. We moved everything around; heaters, plumbing, electric, cabinets, floors, reframed windows and doors, and installed all new appliances. Daniel and his team did a great job with our kitchen remodel. Professional, quality work completed in estimated time frame. Very responsive and always available for any questions or concerns. Able to advocacte for us when a supplier was not meeting his responsibilities in a timely fashion. We are extremely happy with the work, and hope to work with him again.

You care about a few things when working with a contractor. #1 - craftsmanship #2 - staying within the agreed upon budget #3 - staying with the timeline of the project #4 - communication I must say Daniel and his team is 5 stars on all points laid out. We did a 3 full bathroom renovation within a very strict NYC co-op and couldn't be happier with the results. It was a 10 week project and everything was professionally done - Daniel even went to the tile company and other stores to help pick out everything to ensure there would be no issues at time of installation. All costs were laid out and there were no surprises at the end. All receipts that he laid out were kept in orderly fashion and emailed to me for review. He even would text me if his team was a few minutes late to the project.
