Cuatro Construction & Renovations

I am having the same problem have given him over $400k money up front and walked off the job. One star is way to high. Beware!!

This is a review for Cuatro Construction and Renovations by Sergio Medina. I would NOT recommend him. What started fantastic in January 2019 ended as a disastrous experience in November 2021. When city had to change height of house due to Harvey flood issues, Sergio completely changed. He went from I will do everything to make your house and experience wonderful, to I am losing money on this house and a terrible experience began. He is difficult to work with. Has poor customer service. He does not keep timelines or deadlines. Sergio met with me/family , 3 times during the early period, then would not return phone calls, was sporadic in answering emails and would not meet in person. Basic things during construction like a fence, porta potty, cleaning up debris/trash on property and dirt in street does not happen. He used dirt from another construction site for my yard that had trash, wood, nails and rocks for my yard. No notice to pick out paint/tile/countertops, so I would drop everything to get this completed to only wait months to have it started. The entire team coming does not exist. It is sporadic workers who are not aware of what the other teams are doing, they are not able to get in contact with Sergio and so no continuity. There is no foreman. The work is poor quality. The city of Houston Permit office is very familiar with Sergio but not in a good way. He is known for not completing permits and not showing up for inspections. Sergio was not aware that his architect was not completing building permit issues for 6 months, until I became involved. It was Sergio who did not complete required building issues for final permit from January 2021 to November 2021, even though I was sending emails reviewing what was not completed. Sergio, later actually replied that he thought the house was finished and I had moved in during May 2021. Sergio had moved on without completing my house. With help from city permit office, I started obtaining inspections and obtained documentation of deficiencies that needed to be completed before final permit could be obtained for eventual move in on November 2021. Sergio was not aware of what issues needed to be addressed per flood policies. Sergio would not fix, replace items in house that he had promised to do and would be in house warranty, just a few examples,,(windows, cracks in every cabinet, cracks in walls or to redo wood floor that his workers damaged, large cracks in concrete of new driveway and in garage). I am still having to pay to get problems fixed. I completed all payments on time, but still had a contractor that would NOT communicate, NOT keep updated on the building of my house, and NOT complete work.

Excellent services provided immediately upon request. Totally satisfied with Company's Owner and all subcontractors. Quality, outstanding workmanship and resources provided were exceptional above comparison. Very highly recommended.

Sergio Medina of Cuatro Construction Renovations is absolutely the best builder I have ever encountered in building my personal houses or renovating them. Several years ago Sergio rebuilt my home after a major fire. The quality of his work and the people working for him is outstanding and unsurpassed in every aspect of construction. More important is his integrity, attention to detail and demand for excellence. Without any reservation, I would use Sergio again if I had a project and have in the past and will continue to highly recommend him for home construction. I used Cuatro Construction and Renovations by Sergio Medina for the construction of a new outdoor patio/living area and a pergola at our home in west Houston. He did an outstanding job. The quality was first rate, the pricing was fair and Sergio was easy to reach and communicated with us constantly as the job progressed. I plan to use him in the future and highly recommend him.
