We hired Creating Space to remodel our basement because basements are their specialty. It was a complete remodel that saw our basement get torn down to the studs. Todd has an amazing crew of people. From the demo to framing to plumbing to electrical. All top notch guys who are easy to talk with and helpful whenever I had any questions. Creating Space took an outdated basement and turned it into a fully functional and useable space for the entire family. They created 4 rooms, a kitchenette, entertainment area, laundry room and two full sized bathrooms, installed all new electrical and an entirely new HVAC system, including venting. The quality of work is top notch. My one suggestion for anyone working with CS is to be crystal clear on what you're receiving. I didn't know the lingo/description of the doors he wrote down and assumed we were getting a particular type of door that would match our upstairs. I was wrong and we had to re-order new doors. That was pretty much the only hiccup in the entire process. Great experience overall and I would recommend to anyone looking for a trusted professional to remodel your basement.

We had the basement completely finished with a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, laundry and storage: The full kitchen was done with a lot of detail. Plenty of storage was added. The layout was done nicely. Todd’s team worked with us to ensure we got what we needed for a comfortable living area. We had used Todd’s company years ago on our previous home and was pleased to use them again.

Everything about the process was easy and a great experience. All the tradesmen were professional and listened to our wants. We investigated and received quotes from 4 contractors for our basement. We finally chose Creating Space after having met Todd right before COVID began. Honestly, the hardest part is making up your mind about the finishes; paint color, tile, flooring because the sheer number of options is overwhelming. All of Todd's crews/subs are prompt, courteous, and respectful of your time. There is strong attention to detail which shows in the finished product and lack of "punch list" repairs. I chose Creating Space without getting a second or third bid simply because of my comfort level with Todd. You may be able to find a lower bidder but you can never put a price on peace of mind.

Top Notch Contractor, Amazing Work! We looked at several contractors to finish approximately 1,600 sq feet in our basement. Over a year discussing and getting quotes, nothing felt right. Todd finished approximately 1,500 square feet of our basement about 6 months ago and we are thrilled with how it turned out - very high quality work. Todd was super easy to work with and clearly cared about getting things right. He also went the extra mile in a few instances, helping me finalize my projector/speaker set up as I was only truly capable of getting it 80% of the way (saved me a lot of $$ not having to hire a electronics professional). Todd also was very generous in providing extra material I could use in the one room I was completing myself. Overall, the project turned out exactly as we had hoped and we have gotten nothing but great feedback from visitors, many of whom can be often be critical! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Todd and would hire him again in a second.

Creating Space truly transformed and dark and closed in basement to a great living space for teenage children to hang out. Our basement was already framed out so it was difficult to design. Todd created a design to include all the rooms we wanted for the basement. He was done on time and touched up items that needed touching up at the end.

We reached out to Todd at Creating Space in the late summer of 2016 at the suggestion of our HVAC contractor to have out basement finished. We wanted to finish a media room, a game room, and a half-bath totalling about 950 sq ft. We received three estimates and Todd wasn’t the cheapest not the most expensive, but he was the only one with straight-up answers to direct questions and with local references. He also “pulls permits”, so we felt more confident that everything was above board. He linked his payment schedule to project phases, which was very reasonable, especially tying the final payment to passing the final inspection. He utilizes a “lock box” for basement access and we felt comfortable having the subcontractors working on the basement when we weren’t home. It helps that the subcontractors are excellent and work quickly. We’ve had only one unexpected surprise, from a Forsyth County inspector, who decided that the original sewer line needed a backflow preventer, which doesn’t seem fair given that the house is 10 years old. In spite of this additional cost, Todd split this cost with us which we felt was more than fair. We’re also happy with the basement construction warranty. The project started on time and finished on time. With permits. No drama. On budget. Reasonably priced. Isn’t this the way all basement finishing jobs are supposed to go? We’d recommend Todd to friends and family and have already done so.

Todd gave us a detailed estimate to finish our basement back in 2009. We liked him from the start...he arrived on time and answered all of our questions. We decided to postpone starting in 2009. When we were ready in Spring of this year, Todd still had all of our information from 2009! Of course the estimate was revised for 2016. Our start date was June 24th and Todd estimated that our basement would be completed in 12 weeks. It actually took 13 weeks because we added the dry bar a few weeks into the job. Our basement was finished on September 30th and we love it! Todd always kept us inform about what was going on with the basement; selections that needed to be made; such as paint colors, tile, flooring, etc. He told us that we could call him with questions at anytime and we did. We had no problems with the sub contractors...they were courteous and punctual. The work speaks for itself! We have received so many compliments on our basement. Without question, I would use Creating Space again!

We added 2 bedrooms and a full bathroom to the footprint of our house, increasing its value in the market more than what we paid for the renovation. The subcontractors that Todd uses are highly reputable and very courteous. They all spoke great English and were never shy about telling us about their craft. They finished the job within the range that was promised and we went a little over budget but that was based on our decision to do so. It's nice how Todd gives you "allowances" for several of the trades and if you go under, you get money back. It makes it easy for you to select tile, flooring, etc based on your budget. I have recommended Creating Space to many of my neighbors, one of which is actively engaged in a renovation with more to come. Todd and his Dad (Gabe) are easy to work with and I highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their basement finished in the Atlanta area.
