Core Remodel LLC is a locally owned, boutique full-service remodeling and restoration company that works in downtown Chicago, throughout the North Shore and Western Suburbs. Our bread and butter is completely remodeling an entire condo or single family home, primarily new kitchens and bathrooms with an emphasis on design, material selection and functionality. Each and every property is unique and different. Maintaining the architecture and improving the design and functionality is ever so important. Our lives are ever-changing in size and needs. Core Remodel LLC takes all of these items plus others into consideration and will work with you throughout the entire process, from initial no-cost consultation, estimate & design review, material selection, pre-construction meetings, and walk-thru, daily and weekly written updates and so much more! I hired Core Remodel my kitchen, paint and install new flooring in a one bedroom condo. One year later, the project still wasn’t finished and I had to hire a different contractor to complete the work. The owner, Joe Chiavaroli cancelled appointments and double charged my credit card before work even began, which should have been a warning to me. Workers didn’t show for weeks at a time and Joe became impossible to get a hold of. He did not return phone calls or texts and left me living in a construction zone for 8 months. The shelves that were installed were uneven. Cabinets and drawers were measured incorrectly leading to gaps and uneven spacing. No self leveler was applied before installing the flooring and as a result, my floors sink in certain areas. Joe promised to fix them then told me he couldn’t. Eventually he stopped communicating with me and that was when I had to hire someone else to finish the project. I do not recommend this business and would give zero stars if I could.

I am really glad we hired Core Remodeling to take care of our bathrooms. They did everything on time and budget. Will hire them again when it's time to finish the basement.

Everyone I have spoken to or encountered through this company have been amazing. They are friendly and helpful. They give us the right information and resources for the goals that we are trying to achieve with the remodel. And they made the final product look beautiful.

I'd avoid Joe and Core Remodel. I thought maybe the issue was me until I read reviews from Greg and Sean; their experience with Joe and his team was almost identical to ours. Communication was horrible, his people would show up unprepared and were unreliable, and it wasn't unusual to have work be done multiple times to get it right. Working with him was such a bad experience that we cut ties and ate a few thousand dollars already paid to him and had another contractor complete the work. I gave him 6+ months to respond to a proposed solution with nary a response. I'd be surprised if all these 5-star reviews are from actual clients. Either way, beware of Core Remodel.

Core Remodel provided us exactly the design we needed for the update to the in-law suite. They gave us the update at a price we could afford. And they did the work in less time than expected. I doubt we'll go anywhere else for the next remodel.
