Bay Build Design (formerly Barnum Building & Design,) is a full service design/build firm creating meaningful, well-crafted, functional and beautiful spaces for our clients, their lifestyles and investments. We’ve built our reputation on trust, transparency and delivery. We also offer stand-alone permit expediting services for homeowners and professionals who prefer to hire out this often detailed aspect of projects. Our working motto is, “all things are connected.” Our collaborative approach, and outstanding work result in returning clients, a solid referral stream, and a stable workforce. Adam Barnum got his start in San Francisco managing all phases of new, residential underground garage additions, garage expansions, foundation work, seismic upgrades, and full scale residential remodels for homeowners and investors. We have worked with several contractors over the years during home remodels, and Adam is heads above the rest. He actually answers his phone, even after you sign the paperwork! We found him to be knowledgeable (he gently steered us away from some sub-par ideas) as well as flexible (we may have changed our minds once or twice). Remarkably, this exceptional level of professionalism was 100% consistent across everyone who works for Adam, from his project manager to his drywall crew (trust me, this is very rare). Our project finished on time and stayed on budget. I would give him 10 stars if I could.

Adam Barnum’s team is highly skilled and produces phenomenal results. Gina Weyant, Permit Expediter who works for Adam Barnum is a true professional whose empathy and tireless effort to complete our project, we will never forget. Gina’s brings with her an extensive knowledge of the latest standards and building requirements of the City of SF, spanning the full spectrum of construction. Craig Weyant, Project Manager is responsive, stays in communication and jumped in whenever we needed his support and assistance. His great can-do attitude and expert management kept our confidence level high. Adam Barnum’s experience and leadership as well as his excellent team make an easy first choice for our next project.

It was such a pleasure working with Adam and Bobbi Jo, they are very honest people to work with. Adam is very detail oriented and love what he does and that's what makes him very unique and trust worthy. Adam finished our major construction on a very timely manner, I was pregnant and very worried the project won't end on time for our move, but finally all came together on time. He made our home look beautiful. He is very respectful and friendly, yet very professional and honest.

Working with Adam was just like working with a friend on a project, he is detailed oriented, polite, and friendly. Most of all, honest and proud of his work, rightfully so. His team is also of comparable quality, all of which combined made us select him as the one who would make our new home when moving from San Diego to San Francisco. We had everything from kitchen to bathroom to insulation done with Adam... I would always pick quality over anything else, and would work with Adam on future projects. Word of advice, go to him if you want the job done right, not done cheap.

To say BB&D is anything but exceptional would be an outright lie. Adam and his team provide such attention to detail and expert craftsmanship. In an industry such as this, one is constantly faced with challenges and obstacles on jobsites- when working with BB&D, the result of those challenges are never the ‘easy way out’, but rather, a solution that best fits the needs of the client. His office staff maintains a positive attitude and works wonders behind the scenes to ensure clients are provided the best experience possible.
