Alair Homes South Etobicoke

This was our first time using a contractor for home renovations and we were very happy with the work done by/ coordinated through Brian Fletcher and David Maynard from Alair Homes. You hear horror stories about broken commitments, incomplete or poor work but not with them. We knew from the beginning that they were likely not the cheapest contractors out there but we really wanted to go with someone we could trust. In our first meeting, Brian spent a lot of time talking with us, answering our questions and explaining how the Alair group works. Throughout the project they were professional, punctual and willing to work with us. Our vision for our renovation didn't quite match our budget but they were patient and helped us understand what was important and where we could sacrifice. They are definitely very knowledgeable and have strong relationships with their subcontractors. The software they use was very beneficial in understanding the cost and timeline and was very helpful when updated along the way. The work took a little longer then we had anticipated. There were many reasons for this some within their control but most were not. We had to move in before the work was complete, and with two small children this was not ideal. But Dave was great about communicating what would be happening and when so were were not negatively impacted by the work being done. Overall we were happy with the work done and would use their services again in the future.

Our family partnered with Alair on two renovations. In the first project, we gutted the main floor of our townhome, installed a brand new kitchen, made structural changes and installed a new walk-in shower for the master ensuite bathroom. In the second project, we renovated our basement which included built ins and a new staircase. Working with Alair Homes South Etobicoke, and especially Eric, was a pleasure. While all renovations can result in unforeseen circumstances or last minute changes, we knew at all times where we stood in our project. Eric listened to our family's goals, made good suggestions and kept us up to date with costs. He was never afraid to "roll up his sleeves" and get involved himself as well which helped things move along at a good pace. We trusted the contractors Alair introduced us to and are happy with the level of work they produced as well. We would happily work again with Alair Homes South Etobicoke in the future. Alair Homes was a pleasure to reno with. Informative, courteous and most importantly, clean! I've been part of several renovations and have never experienced a cleaner reno site. Great job Brian, Eric and Team!

We engaged Alair for a major renovation to the main floor of our century house. This involved a complete gutting of the space back to the joists in order to build in a completely new design from front door to back. To this we added a reno of the upstairs bath and a rebuild of our front porch. Along the way we also had our roof, chimney and other items repaired. From our first meeting with Brian we were impressed with his integrity, his energy and readiness to work with us when many other contractors we reached out to didn't show up or call us back. Brian and our project manager David were great to work with, responsive to our needs, questions and concerns. They proved exceedingly patient with these detail oriented clients, even as we added a couple of items to the job along the way that were not originally discussed. Access to the software system allowed us to check progress on engaging tradespeople, acquisition of materials, and expenditures. There were a couple of problems along the way as with any renovation, however Brian and David worked to ensure all was amended to our satisfaction. The various trades Alair selected for our job all did great work, and the whole project was completed within a reasonable time frame. We continue to be delighted with the results – a much improved and more livable space for our family of four. Our thanks to Brian, David and their team for a marvelous upgrade to our fine, old house.

Great experience with Brian and Alair - South Etobicoke!! Always felt we were a top priority right from the beginning. When it came to keeping the project on track, highly qualified trades people showed up on time and regularly and always kept our home tidy after the work was done for the day. Our project manager Eric was very responsive to any of our questions or concerns and showed up daily to help if required. I found the Alair Client software easy and a very helpful way to see the progress, scheduling and budgetary aspects of the renovation, very transparent and honest. Brian is very professional and works tirelessly for his costumers. Brian worked directly with us to meet our budget needs and responded to our questions and in a prompt professional manner. With the Alair Homes system, we were able to see where every dollar was going and if things were under budget or over budget. In the End Brain was able to come in under the proposed Budget for our Kitchen. Brian's kindness, knowledge and professionalism made our kitchen renovation experience an excellent one.

Brian and Eric from Alair South Etobicoke were excellent to work with. They are both very calm and down to earth and made me feel comfortable throughout the project. Brian and his team renovated our 3rd floor attic and transforming it into a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and balcony. The job involved gutting the entire space, adding an extension to the room, installing plumbing, and all the usuals for a reno like painting, drywall, electrical, etc. What we liked most about working with Brian is his ethical business practice - he’s very honest and easy to talk to, and he genuinely cares about doing high quality work for his clients and making sure they're happy with the end result. The 3rd floor reno is now done and it is without a doubt our favourite part of our house - we love it so much we’ve even started trying to find creative ways to spend more time up there (eg. “picnic” lunch, anyone?)

Brian and his team renovated our kitchen and the entrance hall to our home. This involved gutting half of the first floor back to the studs and installing new plumbing, electrical, wall insulation, new drywall and painting, radiant floor heating, kitchen window, kitchen tiles, fixtures, counter and cabinetry. For the entrance, the area was opened up, posts/wall removed and ceiling joists added. We were aiming for a modern, open concept look and achieved exactly what we were hoping for. The work was completed to a very high standard and quality. Brian oversaw and dealt with all sub-contractors to our satisfaction. He kept us well informed of progress and construction issues, guided us to material suppliers when necessary. Overall he was very professional and a pleasure to deal with. The work was completed on time (a few days behind schedule) which was important since we continued to live in our house during the renovation. When potential delays arose, he put extra effort on suppliers and sub-contractors to deliver. The work was completed on budget. Even more than a year after the reno was complete, when working on other renovations in the neighbourhood, Brian stopped by to ensure we were satisfied and no problems had emerged with any work done. I would highly recommend Alair Homes South Etobicoke for quality work, supportive attitude, project management and peace of mind.

We hired Brian to make extensive renovations in our house, which included almost complete demolition of the interior. He had already done work on several houses in the neighbourhood and came to us with a very good reputation. During the renovation, a number of problems were identified, which Brian worked to resolve. We appreciate his continued efforts to follow up post renovation. Overall, we found Brian to be professional, knowledgeable and creative in finding solutions. We would work with Brian again.

We hired Brian through Alair Homes and did a major renovation on our home in High Park, Toronto. There was a lot of structural work done on our home necessitating us to move out for about 6 months. We were very impressed with the project management aspect, which kept us up to date on a regular daily/weekly basis regarding what work was being done and when. The actual work was well done, professional and our place looks awesome. We are really pleased with the outcome. We also appreciate that Brian was available after the project was completed to help out with anything that popped up after.
