We did back to back bathroom remodels and ordered both counters from Optimum Granite. When we were ordering I told them since we were living in the house during the remodel, one bathroom had to be completely finished before demo was scheduled to start on the second. We worked with Alicia who told us that wouldn’t be a problem since they would have some flexibility with scheduling.
However, Optimum Granite refused to come out and measure twice. Since they would only schedule one measurement for both remodels, the contractor was held up. Neither counter was ready in time. We had to PAY to reinstall an old counter while we waited for the first to be completed.
Then they refused to honor the measurements for the second bathroom and ended up having to come out a second time as they should have in the first place. They didn’t care at all that their attempt to increase their bottom line caused our family major issues since we were left without a working bathroom in our home.
The owner, Dennis, then took over our project from Alicia. He was super defensive and hostile. He sent us a lot of emails with things bolded and underlined, denied were ever told we would receive flexibility and called me multiple times during the workday to complain about how much we (the customer) were inconveniencing him after I complained about not having ANY working full bath in a house for my two kids. I must have been told a hundred times they had 200 other customers and they would prefer to give us our money back. Sadly we were too far into the remodel to cancel the order.
After the second counter was installed and everything was paid for we realized that there were scratches on the surface of the granite. I noticed these the first day we started using the bathroom because the counter is next to a large window. They also did not properly seal the counter or the threshold to the shower. It absorbs water like a sponge. I called several times trying to reach Dennis but even after leaving voicemails and messages with his staff he never reached back out to me.
Finally got ahold of Alicia, she refused to address the scratching but blamed the sealing on the piece of granite and said ‘the sealing hadn’t taken’. She said they could come out and reseal the counter and threshold whenever it was convenient for THEM, but I never received a call back to schedule the sealing.
Optimum Granite does not guarantee their work. Once you sign the paper at the install they absolve themselves of all responsibility. They take no responsibility for installing a faulty product. I am completely dissatisfied with how they handle issues. If they had at any time apologized for misleading us, or been at all cooperative I would understand, but they are unapologetic about delivering terrible products and customer service.
You can buy granite, quartz and marble anywhere. Do you want to PAY people to treat you like garbage, hold up your renovation and then install a product that isn’t what you paid for? Please do business with Optimum Granite.
Edited this to add, after speaking with Denis again today he shouted ‘I’m done with you’ and hung up the phone mid conversation when I dared to ask if they do quality control on their products. The owner is a bully. Clearly he has no regard for anything but his bottom line.

We do attempt to make as little measurement trips as possible for remnant projects, that is how we are able to keep our prices low for them, that is correct. However, we did agree to do two measurements for you since you had both bathroom remodels going on at the same time. Your husband called our office and set up the measurement for the first vanity since you did not have an exact date of delivery for your second cabinet. You then called us extremely upset about the fact that we could not install your vanity within the same week of being measured. We had explained to you and your husband in person that our regular turn around time is 9-11 business days from measurement to install, the contract you signed also stated this. You agreed that you were aware of our turnaround but thought it wouldn’t apply to you and that you found it unacceptable that we were unable to meet the deadline you set up.
Eventually, after much back and forth and refusing to accept us refunding your deposit and walking away from the project, we finally came to an agreement (or so we thought) on measurement and tentative install dates that were well within our contracted timeline. We are not sure how you can claim we held up your remodel when we measured and installed, not once, but twice within our contracted time.
Below is the timeline of date for your project:
8/27/19- Measurement if 1st vanity
9/3/19- Install of 1st vanity and shower pieces for 2nd bathroom
9/6/19- Measurement of 2nd vanity
9/9/19- Install of 2nd vanity
As for reaching out to Denis after the install, we do acknowledge that you left voicemails for him after being told he was out of the office. After speaking to Alicia, she explained that sometimes white granite has to be sealed twice and that we would come out free of charge to reseal them for you since it didn’t take the first time. You saying that you never received a call back to schedule is a lie because you were asked if Monday the 23rd would work for you and you said yes after 9am. We added you on our schedule for the service while you were still on the phone and even confirmed the date and time before hanging up the line. Not once did you mention any scratched while were discussing the service. Alicia did not “refuse to address the scratches” because you did not tell her about any of them.
We take our business very seriously and believe we were as accommodating to your demands and negative attitude toward us as possible. We rarely have customers that go through such great lengths to make projects a hassle for everyone involved and we are very disappointed that we did not walk away in the beginning. We have emails and a signed contract to prove that you were not misled about our timelines, schedule, or products. We are very sorry that you feel the need to write false reviews about a company that did nothing but try to be accommodating to you. We hope other contractors are lucky enough to avoid doing business with you. Have a wonderful rest of your day.

I had used Optimum Granite & Marble once before about five years ago. We stopped there to look after visiting another showroom. That day the salesperson said they were getting a piece of marble in the following week. That Friday, someone came to measure. The following week we heard that the piece that had come in had been damaged but they had another on order. That following Thurssday, the counter top was installed (less than a week since they measured.) The installation went quickly and it looks beautiful. Also, I might add, the price was lower than some of their competitors.

The team at Optimum Granite were great to work with-from the visit to the showroom to the installation of my Master bath two sink granite. Price was very reasonable. As I had a very long slab I wanted to avoid a seam and Kadee and her team made it work. I am delighted with the piece and that the sinks were included. They delivered the day they scheduled-no delay even though the original piece became damaged the night before and they had to re cut mine the same morning. I even asked for some of the extra left over pieces to be polished and edges finished to make some serving charcuterie slabs and they were happy to do it. Professional every step of the process. I will use them again and highly recommend you see what they have to offer! My husband is a realtor and will recommend them to clients as well.

We hired Optimum Granite for a custom countertop for the island in our kitchen. We visited their showroom in South Elgin where the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I joking said to the salesman can you move that (LARGE) slab of granite next to this one so I can compare them? And he said... "sure no problem!" My husband and I had never been to a granite show room or purchased granite before so we thought this was going to be a complicated process. But it wasnt. We visited one other local company for a quote and by far Optimum was our choice! The installers were professional and courteous. When we move on to the rest of the kitchen counters, we will definitely call Optimum Granite. Their prices and service are exceptional!
