Ground Floor Gallery connects Brooklyn's talented, emerging artists to new art buyers who want to live or work with original art in their style and budget. We make contemporary art accessible by arranging in-home art consultations, visits to artist studios, payment plans, and even art rentals for new homeowners or special projects. About Ground Floor Gallery: In 2013, independent curators Krista Scenna and Jill Benson founded Ground Floor Gallery, Park Slope’s primary commercial art space. As the current gallery owner, Scenna continues to connect local, emerging artists to new art buyers and audiences through curated exhibitions of original art and educational ventures such as art collecting classes for beginners and private art consulting sessions. The gallery empowers buyers new to art and those curious about up-and-coming, underrepresented talents by hosting intimate events, organizing studio visits, and encouraging partnerships between local residents / businesses and our network of talented artists throughout the exhibition season. About Gallery Owner Krista Scenna Gallery owner, Krista Scenna, is an independent curator and gallerist based in Brooklyn, NY. Scenna has worked for the ICA in Philadelphia, the Queens Museum, the Whitney Museum of Art and New Museum of Contemporary Art in various capacities. She was also a 2010-11 Lori Ledis Curatorial Fellow. In addition to exhibitions at BRIC, NURTUREart and Lesley Heller Workspace, her curatorial portfolio also includes site-specific exhibitions in alternative forums such The Old Stone House, Vax Moto motorcycle garage, the DUMBO Arts Festival and SPRING/BREAK Art Show 2015-2016. As the co-owner of Ground Floor Gallery in Brooklyn, Scenna connects emerging artists with new art buyers. She is also a proud member of the Association of Women Art Dealers (AWAD) and serves on the board of Arts Gowanus. She earned her undergraduate degree in Art History & Spanish from the University of Pennsylvania and a graduate degree in interdisciplinary contemporary art from New York University’s Draper Program.
